Inside Georgina Rodríguez and Cristiano Ronaldo's Intimate Jewel-Laden Wedding

Inside Georgina Rodríguez and Cristiano Ronaldo's Intimate Jewel-Laden Wedding

Georgina Rodríguez wore jewellery estimated to be worth £56million to her intimate wedding to Cristiano Ronaldo. The couple, aged 41 and 32 respectively, married at their new home in Portugal on the tenth anniversary of the day they first met while Georgina was working as a shop assistant at the Gucci store in Madrid.Ronaldo wore a simple T-shirt and suit jacket as they exchanged vows, while Georgina wore a Gucci shirt and skirt in a nod to where they first met. Now Nilesh Rakholia, Founder of jewellery brand Abelini, has broken down the extraordinary Chopard Garden of Kalahari jewels Georgina wore across the day and revealed the estimated price of the set. While the ceremony itself was deliberately understated, the jewellery was anything but. Georgina wore an eye-catching Chopard Garden of Kalahari necklace with a D-flawless 50-carat brilliant-cut diamond as its centrepiece, as well as a matching bracelet, earrings and ring.Nilesh said: 'What she wore isn't simply a very expensive diamond necklace. All of those major stones began life within the same extraordinary rough diamond, and that provenance is a huge part of what makes the collection so special.'Georgina Rodríguez wore jewellery estimated to be worth £56million to her intimate wedding to Cristiano Ronaldo (seen last year at Venice Film Festival covered in jewels)The couple, aged 41 and 32 respectively, married at their new home in Portugal on the tenth anniversary of the day they first met while Georgina was working as a shop assistant at GucciIn their Vogue wedding pictures she was also seen wearing the matching bracelet from the set during a morning workout.Nilesh commented: 'One of the more unexpected details is that Georgina was already wearing the Garden of Kalahari bracelet while working out with Cristiano on the morning of the wedding. 'That tells you just how comfortably she wears very serious jewellery.'Most people would treat a bracelet from a suite like this as something to put on five minutes before the ceremony. Georgina appears to have worn it as part of the day from the outset.'Across the full Garden of Kalahari suite, the publicly disclosed diamond specifications already take the known unique diamond weight to more than 300 carats. But Nilesh says: 'That is an extraordinary number, but even 300-plus carats doesn't really tell the whole story. These aren't 300 carats of ordinary diamonds. 'You have multiple D-Flawless stones over 20 carats, all originating from the same Type IIa rough, and then Chopard's craftsmanship on top of it.'I wouldn't attempt to value this by simply adding up a price per carat. As more than 3,200 hours went into creating the complete parure.'At this level you are valuing the diamonds, their shared provenance, the Chopard name, the craftsmanship and the fact that the whole collection was conceived from one exceptional rough.'For Nilesh, what made Georgina's choice particularly striking is the contrast with the wedding itself. Cristiano and Georgina chose to marry at home in an intimate ceremony with their children, with Georgina deliberately opting for a clean white Gucci look rather than the huge traditional bridal spectacle she once imagined. The footballer shared that he and Georgina had tied the knot after ten years together by sharing a snap of their wedding bands on InstagramNow Nilesh Rakholia, Founder of jewellery brand Abelini, has broken down the extraordinary Chopard Garden of Kalahari jewels Georgina wore across the day and revealed their estimated pricesShe isn't shy showing off her huge diamond engagement ring either and it regularly features on her socials Georgina wore an eye-catching Chopard Garden of Kalahari necklace with a D-flawless 50-carat brilliant-cut diamond as its centrepiece (stock image)'That contrast is probably my favourite thing about the whole look. She stripped almost everything else back. They married in their living room, she wore this beautifully clean white Gucci look and the wedding rings themselves were simple gold bands. Then she put more than 200 carats of diamonds around her neck.'She essentially took all of the grandeur people expected from a Ronaldo wedding and concentrated it into the jewellery,' Nilesh said.Nilesh says putting a precise valuation on the suite without Chopard's own appraisal would be hard. However she did comment: 'Putting an exact price on jewellery of this importance from photographs would be irresponsible because there simply isn't an ordinary retail comparison.''A published estimate has previously placed the complete Garden of Kalahari collection at around $75 million, or roughly £56 million, and that does not strike me as implausible given the specifications and provenance involved. 'Chopard itself has never publicly disclosed a price, though, so I would treat that as an indicative high jewellery valuation rather than an authenticated figure.'The pair married in Portugal on Tuesday – and Ronaldo wore a T-shirt and suit jacket as they exchanged vows. Amid much speculation about the big day, the couple defied most whispers with the pared-back nuptials, with the ceremony going from their house to a nearby church – where Georgina 'couldn't hold back her tears'. She explained to Vogue in the magazine's Summer digital issue: 'We've chosen to do it in the living room of our house here where we have breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and where we live the reality of our lives...'In 30 years' time I want the children to think, something wonderful happened at this table – the wedding vows of our parents.'When I was a little girl I dreamt of the biggest castle, the biggest carriage, the longest dress, a crown full of diamonds. And now I'm saying: no. I want something intimate, with my partner and our children, at home.' However, the beauty did promise in the interview that they would in the future have a 'big wedding' to celebrate with their wider family and friends but did not elaborate further on their plans. Another surprising element of the day was their choice of clothes, however, the couple explained the reason they both wore Gucci was due to them meeting at the Gucci store in Spain all those years ago. They called the idea a 'full circle' moment.  Georgina wore a sheer white shirt and skirt, satin shoes teamed with sparkling diamond jewellery from Chopard. Cristiano meanwhile wore a custom light beige cotton suit, T-shirt and loafers for the big day. The children all wore matching outfits.'He's not going to dress us up,' Georgina explained. 'I didn't want us to go into a day that was so simple for us in costumes.'After the ceremony at home they drove to the Shrine of Our Lady of Fatima, an hour away, where a priest gave them a blessing. The couple won't be going on a honeymoon and have already jetted back to Saudi Arabia where he plays football. The couple have daughters Alana and Bella together, and welcomed twins Eva Maria and Mateo through surrogacy.Bella had a twin brother named Angel, but he sadly passed away shortly after birth. Ronaldo has a final child, Cristiano Jr, from an earlier relationship. The footballer shared that he and Georgina had tied the knot after ten years together by sharing a snap of their wedding bands on Instagram. He captioned the post: 'C❤️G.'A representative for Ronaldo also confirmed news of the union, saying: 'Cristiano Ronaldo and Georgina Rodriguez were married today in a civil ceremony in Cascais, Portugal, and are now officially husband and wife. 'The ceremony was a private and intimate moment attended by their five children.'Jornal de Noticias published a copy of the couple's marriage certificate late on Thursday, saying only four witnesses were present as well as their children.Cristiano's mother Dolores Aveiro and his three siblings Hugo, Elma and Katia, were not present at the intimate civil ceremony. His family found out he was marrying his long-term girlfriend just moments before he married Georgina, a local report has claimed. It was Portuguese television presenter Cristina Ferreira who claimed the footballer's family's absence from his big day will 'cause problems'.Speaking on TVI programme Dois at ten, she said: 'It will cause a lot of problems because the family wasn't present.'And they shouldn't even have known. Or if they did know, it was 30 seconds beforehand.'Claudio Ramos added on the programme: 'I really hope that what we said here, which had to do with the impressions we get from what exists on social media, did not actually cause sadness in the family, that things were not as they apparently seem.'Dolores, who has had to refute claims over the years of a bad relationship with her daughter-in-law, gave her blessing to the star couple's union.Shortly after they announced they were married she posted a heart emoticon on Cristiano's official social media alongside the snap he published of their rings.Cristiano's sister Katia, who is based in Brazil but travelled to her native Madeira at the weekend to meet family and friends, did the same. She has yet to address reports she and other members of Cristiano's family were absent from the Cascais wedding ceremony.Georgina's sister Ivana, Cristiano's long-time friend Miguel Paixao and a Spanish couple named as Jose Rodríguez Sangil and his wife Monica Gonzalez Martinez were the only witnesses.Registrar Maria Manuel Ferreira de Campos Folhadela de Oliveira travelled from the northern Portuguese city of Porto to Cascais to officiate the ceremony. And the star couple, who married exactly one year to the day after they announced their engagement on social media, have decided to keep their pre-nuptial assets separate despite tying the knot after a decade-long romance. They signed a pre-nup agreement to define their property regime on August 10, a day before the ceremony at a public notary's office in Lisbon.

Why This Week's Partial Lunar Eclipse Has Everyone Talking

Why This Week's Partial Lunar Eclipse Has Everyone Talking

A significant portion of the moon will be covered.August 22, 2026, 5:03 AMIf a "planet parade," a solar eclipse and a meteor shower weren't enough, August has one more celestial treat in store for us -- a partial lunar eclipse beginning late Thursday, Aug. 27, and continuing into the early morning on Friday, Aug. 28. Often called a "blood moon" because of its reddish-copper hue, a lunar eclipse occurs when the Earth moves between the Sun and the moon, blocking sunlight from reaching the lunar surface and casting a shadow on our closest celestial neighbor. People are seen on the Bund promenade along the Huangpu river as a full moon rises in the night sky in Shanghai on September 7, 2025, hours ahead of a total lunar eclipse known as the "Blood Moon."Hector Retamal/AFP via Getty ImagesWhile this won't be a total lunar eclipse, a significant portion of the moon will be covered. The best views will be in the eastern portion of the United States and Canada and all of Central and South America. Those in the West will still be able to see some of the eclipse, just not as much.On its website, NASA says the rusty coloring "is because our planet blocks most of the Sun's light from reaching the Moon, and the light that does reach the lunar surface is filtered through a thick slice of Earth's atmosphere. It's as if all of the world's sunrises and sunsets are projected onto the Moon."The best time to begin watching is around 10:33 p.m. ET on Thursday, with the greatest coverage occurring around 12:12 a.m. ET on Friday. It will all be over by 3:03 a.m. ET.Popular ReadsYou won't need special glasses to experience this eclipse. Unlike its solar sibling, lunar eclipses are completely safe to experience with the naked eye. If you have binoculars or a telescope, you'll get an even better view.Keep in mind that, like all celestial events, cloud cover or bad weather can impact how much you can see.

Why the US is Equipping Kosovo and Albania with Armored Vehicles for Gaza Mission

Why the US is Equipping Kosovo and Albania with Armored Vehicles for Gaza Mission

Njoftimi i parë drejtuar Kongresit lidhej me fondet prej 200 milionë dollarësh.

Anna Faris in the Spotlight: Navigating Religion with Son Jack

Anna Faris shared that her 14-year-old son, Jack, has asked her “to accept Jesus Christ” as her savior, and revealed how she challenges his ideas.“He is … religious,” Faris told Chelsea Handler of her only child, during Thursday’s episode of Spotify’s “Dear Chelsea.” Faris noted that their ideas sometimes clash, as she “didn’t grow up with religion.” When the “Scary Movie” actress explained that Jack had asked her to accept Jesus Christ, she revealed that she “told him I would do anything for him, including this, but it’s gonna take a whole lot of long conversations.”Faris, 49, revealed she questions him about typically conservative ideals embraced by some religions.Anna Faris, seen above with son Jack in June, shared that she has long conversations with him about religion. I was in a season of transition spiritually at that time, and didn’t quite fully understand,” he continued. “I made a deal with God again: ‘I’m sorry, God, here I am again, asking for your grace again.'”He continued, “He really saved my son, and that was the moment [my faith] was cemented.
