Hassan Jihad Ibn Kariem, 42, died in a horror fall from the Goliath ride while visiting the park with his family.Horrified witnesses told local media that Hassan came loose from his seat and fell to the ground. The ride was stopped after the incident, with aerial footage from the scene showing riders being helped down from the roller coaster. AdvertSpeaking to 11Alive, one visitor said they spent ‘more than an hour’ stuck on the ride before they were eventually able to get down. The shocking incident has left Hassan’s family devastated with a family friend telling WSB-TV: “We’re absolutely devastated by this loss. Any loss of a family member or friend is tragic but to lose him in this manner is beyond [what] words can even express.” The family friend also revealed that the Atlanta Public Schools educator had faced several tough times in recent years, including having cancer twice, most recently in 2018. Tout amateur de charcuterie qui se respecte a déjà entendu parler de Guémené-sur-Scorff. C’est dans cette petite bourgade du Morbihan qu’est produite la fameuse andouille de Guémené, véritable emblème de la gastronomie bretonne comme la galette-saucisse ou le kouign-amann. Différente de celle de Vire (Calvados), notamment d’un point de vue visuel à la coupe, l’andouille de Guémené est fabriquée par une poignée d’artisans charcutiers à partir de chaudins de porcs, de gros intestins enfilés les uns sur les autres. Comme le veut la tradition, le tout est ensuite fumé au bois de hêtre, ce qui lui donne sa teinte noire et son goût unique, avant d’être séché pendant deux ou trois semaines. Les fins gourmets n’ont alors plus qu’à la faire cuire patiemment à l’eau avant de passer à table. Voilà en tout cas comment l’on consomme cette charcuterie depuis au moins le XVIIIe siècle dans ce coin de Bretagne rebaptisé cité de l’andouille. Des résidus considérés comme cancérigènes sur la peau Mais cette tradition transmise de génération en génération est aujourd’hui menacée. Avec en cause justement cette technique de fumage qui fait toute sa particularité. La combustion du bois dégage en effet des molécules qui viennent se déposer sur la peau de l’andouille. Or ces hydrocarbures aromatiques polycliniques (HAP) sont considérés comme potentiellement cancérigènes. Ce qui a poussé l’Union européenne à durcir sa réglementation autour des produits fumés. Jusqu’en 2016, les contrôles sur l’andouille de Guémené étaient réalisés sans la peau. Ce n’est aujourd’hui plus le cas, ce qui a fait exploser les taux de HAP mesurés. Pour les faire baisser, les artisans ont bien trouvé une solution en enfilant une chaussette sur l’andouille avant son fumage. Mais les taux relevés sont encore parfois trop élevés, contraignant la Maison de l’andouille à suspendre temporairement ses ventes début septembre. Pétition et mobilisation des élus locaux Depuis, c’est le branle-bas de combat en Bretagne, bien décidée à défendre ses traditions culinaires et à ne pas se laisser enquiquiner par Bruxelles. Car « plus les HAP sont hauts, plus le goût de l’andouille est agréable, plus les HAP sont bas, plus le goût de l’andouille est atténué », comme l’explique à nos confrères de France 3 Bretagne Benoît Rivalan, président de la Maison de l’andouille, plombé aussi par le coût des analyses qu’il doit réaliser. Dans la région, les élus de tout bord se mobilisent donc pour demander aux pouvoirs publics de réclamer une dérogation européenne pour sauver l’andouille de Guémené. Avec un slogan brandi sur les réseaux sociaux : « Touche pas à mon andouille ! » En première ligne dans ce combat, le député du Morbihan Jean-Michel Jacques espère ainsi « des seuils dérogatoires adaptés aux spécificités de ces modes de fabrication traditionnels. » Ou alors un retour aux modalités d’analyse appliquées avant 2016, à savoir « des contrôles sur le produit sans sa peau, tout en prévoyant sur l’emballage une mention explicite indiquant que celle-ci ne doit pas être consommée. » Une pétition, signée à ce jour par près de 20.000 personnes, a également été mise en ligne. « Il serait extrêmement dommageable pour notre histoire gastronomique et notre communauté de laisser ce patrimoine s’évanouir, écrit la pétitionnaire. Son goût distinctif et sa qualité exceptionnelle en font un joyau culinaire que nous devons protéger à tout prix. »

De plus, il était blessé lorsqu’elle est partie. Il a depuis trouvé une nouvelle famille qui va prendre soin de lui.Un bébé puma abandonné par sa mamanLe jeune félin a été découvert dans sa tanière, nichée dans les monts Santa Monica, en Californie du Sud, aux États-Unis, le 25 mars 2026, alors qu’il avait environ trois semaines, rapporte le magazine People.L’animal a été secouru par les biologistes du National Park Service (NPS) et du California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW).À l’époque, les deux organismes surveillaient la mère de Crimson à l’aide d’un collier GPS. Ils ont alors constaté qu’elle ne revenait plus dans sa tanière. Après plusieurs jours d’observation, les scientifiques sont intervenus pour récupérer la boule de poils délaissée. Les soigneurs ont également tenté de reproduire les apprentissages que sa mère lui aurait transmis dans la nature.Le CDFW a déterminé que Crimson sera accueilli de façon permanente au Turpentine Creek Wildlife Refuge, un refuge animalier spécialisé dans l’accueil des grands félins, situé dans l’Arkansas.Le puma va être recueilli dans un refugeComme le précise People, Crimson était considéré comme trop jeune pour suivre un programme de réhabilitation et de remise en liberté dans son habitat naturel.Les bébés pumas ont besoin de rester auprès de leur mère pendant 12 à 18 mois afin d’apprendre « des compétences essentielles à leur survie », selon le zoo d’Oakland.De son côté, Crimson a été abandonné alors qu’il était tout petit. Résultat : il ne sait pas survivre seul dans la nature. The mystery of Amelia Earhart’s long-lost aircraft may finally be solved — as researchers believe searchers spent nearly nine decades looking in the wrong place. A 17-member team from Purdue University and the Archaeological Legacy Institute (ALI) has launched a high-stakes expedition to Nikumaroro, a remote South Pacific atoll overrun by massive, three-foot land crabs. The coconut crab is the largest crustacean that spends all its adult life on land, and has been spotted mounting attacks in the night and grabbing unsuspecting prey that pass too close to the crabs’ burrows.Researchers suspect Earhart and her navigator Fred Noonan miscalculated their course on July 2, 1937, landing on Nikumaroro instead of Howland Island, 350 miles to the north, where they attempted to land. A satellite image shows the Taraia Object in a lagoon on Nikumaroro Island, suspected to be Amelia Earhart’s plane. Archaeological Legacy InstituteThe Purdue expedition arrived on the island’s western edge on Oct. 12 and the team is using a floating hydraulic dredge to clear underwater sediment and uncover the unidentified object. The team is focusing on the “Taraia Object” – a submerged shape detected near the shoreline in satellite imagery that researchers think could be the remains of the Lockheed Electra 10E’s tail and fuselage.ALI and Purdue report that the object was identified in satellite data in 2020, though historical photographs suggest it has rested in the lagoon since 1938. The team aims to confirm aluminum skin and rivet patterns to positively identify the plane.The voyage marks the 20th organized search for Earhart’s plane, since she reported running low on fuel to the U.S. Coast Guard before radio contact was lost. Previous attempts were misled by natural underwater rock formations, but researchers believe post-landing radio distress signals and artifacts found point directly to Nikumaroro.Prior discoveries on the island include human bones found in 1940 –  later analyzed in 2018 as consistent with a woman of Earhart’s build — along with 1930s-era remnants of a woman’s shoe and a freckle cream jar. Theory holds that the pair briefly survived as castaways before the aircraft was swept into deeper water. Amelia Earhart flew and promoted the Stearman-Hammond Y-1 (often called the Hammond Y monoplane) in 1936. Purdue University is currently negotiating with the nation of Kiribati, which comprises 33 islands including Phoenix Islands, to bring the wreckage back to the United States.Earhart served as a career counselor for women at Purdue and advisor to its Department of Aeronautics in 1935 prior to her historic attempt to circumnavigate the globe. Before this, she was the first person to fly a solo, nonstop flight across the United States (1932) and the first woman/second person to fly nonstop alone across the Atlantic.

Advert“The family are utterly devastated by their loss and are struggling to come to terms with what has happened,” they said in a statement on Tuesday.“The publication and circulation of deeply offensive media content is causing them severe distress at an exceptionally vulnerable time. We ask people to stop doing this.“The family are hopeful that the relevant authorities will do their upmost to get to the bottom of why our amazing son did what he did.”The statement continued: “William was a bright, warm and engaging young man whom his family dearly loved – and William loved them back.William Chapman died after entering the tiger enclosure at Yorkshire Wildlife Park (SWNS)“Sadly, William suffered from significant mental illness over a number of years and was consequently prescribed strong medication.“It will be for the coroner to decide what part this played in his death.“We would ask everybody to respect that process.”Police have confirmed that Chapman was visiting the park alone on 10 October, where he entered the tiger enclosure at around 1.30pm.He was pronounced dead at the scene.South Yorkshire Police have asked people not to share social media footage of Chapman being attacked in the tiger enclosure.The City of Doncaster Council has opened a health and safety investigation into the incident. Officials did not confirm how the person died, nor how the others were injured or their medical conditions after the incident, but Cobb County Police Department major crimes unit detectives are investigating.According to the BBC, witnesses told local media that they saw a man ejected from the coaster.
