Donald Trump's Approval Rating Spurs Fresh Adjustments

Recent approval ratings suggest that Donald Trump and the Republican Party face challenges in winning over the public before the upcoming midterm elections. The current political climate reflects a shift in citizens' opinions against Trump, as shown by recent ratings. Donald Trump's Approval Rating in 2026 A report by The Economist reveals that Donald Trump's net approval rating has hit an all-time low of -15 in 2026. Factors contributing to this decline include Trump's actions in Venezuela, plans for acquiring Greenland, and controversial actions by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). At the beginning of 2025, Trump had a positive net approval rating of 2, which later rose to 4 by March. However, his ratings have since plummeted to -19, the lowest in his current term. Public dissatisfaction with issues such as inflation, the economy, and taxes has also impacted his approval ratings. Shift in Approval Ratings Even traditionally Republican states have shown a shift against the Trump administration. Out of 50 states, only 11 have a positive approval rating for Trump, with Idaho having the highest at 32.1%. Conversely, the District of Columbia has the most negative approval score of -79.3%. The mismatch between public concerns and the administration's focus on issues like taxes, government spending, and immigration seems to be a key factor in the declining approval ratings. Recent data indicates that the public is more concerned about the economy and civil rights than the issues Trump's administration prioritizes. Original source: Apoorv Rastogi on Mandatory
