Tragic End: Equestrian Dies Living Her Dream Life New

Tragic End: Equestrian Dies Living Her Dream Life

A Massachusetts equestrian has died at age 25 after being thrown from her horse and sustaining a fatal neck injury. Chloe Christina Smith was riding her horse, CruZe, with her friends on Friday, June 5, when it refused a jump, throwing her from her saddle. The horse then collapsed on top of her and also died, the New York Post reported. Smith was airlifted to UMass Memorial Medical Center in Worcester where she died seven hours later, surrounded by family and friends, according to ItemLive. Smith “died living her dreams,” her obituary reads. “Most of us never get that chance, that special moment where life comes together, the wind is at your back, and you have everything you ever wanted right in front of you,” the obituary continues. “An avid equestrian, Chloe loved horses. In a cruel twist of fate, she had just achieved what she most desired: she was the new owner of a farm and barn for stabling horses, was moving up the ranks in competitive riding, and teaching lessons to another generation of riders. Following an accident during a routine ride, she is gone long before her time.” Her father, Jim Smith, told ItemLive that Chloe’s “life” was horses. She had purchased a horse farm in April where she boarded horses and trained riders, beginning to build a business out of it. Chloe moved into the farm house a week before the accident. “Her world was right there,” Jim said. “She said she wanted to live there the rest of her life,” Chloe’s mother, Abbe Smith, added. “She wanted to get married there.” Days before her death, Chloe posted a tribute to CruZe via Instagram on his 13th birthday. “I am so grateful to have such a brave, kind, intelligent partner in this sport,” she wrote alongside the May 30 carousel of photos and videos with the horse. “More than that, I’m grateful to have cruzey as my pal. He makes me smile every day and spreads laughter to all who know him.” Chloe’s family described her to ItemLive as committed to social justice and equality. Her brother, Tristan Smith, said, “She was very steadfast in her beliefs. She certainly always wanted the best for people.” “Chloe was a progressive activist, and her memory will live on in each moment that those around her relentlessly pursue their heart’s desire and make positive change in the world,”her obituary added. “She is inspiring us all to ride on.”

FIFA's Hidden Costs: How U.S. Taxpayers Are Paying the Price New

FIFA's Hidden Costs: How U.S. Taxpayers Are Paying the Price

There is a wave of buzz and excitement looming across North America, as the FIFA World Cup is set to begin Thursday afternoon. But what most people don’t know is the hidden costs and loss of revenue that come with the event.According to Adam Crafton of The Athletic, the World Cup will take a majority of the revenue that is generated.FIFA promised to put U.S. cities "on the map" by hosting the World Cup.Instead, taxpayers got stuck with millions in hidden costs.@AdamCrafton_ crunches the numbers — and takes @PabloTorre behind the scenes of "piggish" negotiations and comically absurd demands. pic.twitter.com/rZIi3P57HH— Pablo Torre Finds Out (@pablofindsout) June 11, 2026“The frustration that’s been mounting, there’s a lot of disagreements, there’s a lot of challenges they’ve encountered,” Crafton said on Pablo Torre Finds Out. “Some of the terms that I’ve heard used, terms like ‘Piggish’ to describe FIFA. Others have used terms like ‘They’re great negotiators.” Adam Crafton of The Athletic on Torree Finds Out, explaining the hidden costs of the World Cup. SoFi Stadium ahead of hosting the World Cup this summer. ZUMAPRESS.comIn Crafton’s article about the hidden costs that will affect the U.S. host cities and U.S. taxpayers, he listed seven different examples that include the $25.8 million jail, an estimation of $57.8 million in lost tax revenue by Missouri, Georgia, and Florida, which all waived taxes on ticket sales to entice FIFA, $15 million in building the Dallas Broadcast Center, which is expected to be torn down at the conclusion of the tournament. He also mentioned why FIFA banned host cities from certain sponsorships with coffee, seltzer, and tequila brands, the cost of “Special access traffic lanes” and police escorts for FIFA VIPs, the cost of keeping the stadiums clean, and the additional $13 million injection to ensure MetLife Stadium has a pitch worthy of hosting the World Cup final. After Crafton told Torre about the frustration and disagreements North America faced with FIFA during the negotiation process, he was asked by Torre about what the process had been like by American Cities when they were approached by FIFA president Gianni Infantino and his team, by saying, “America isn’t as desperate as countries that don’t have the built-in ego or resources?”Crafton responded to the question by mentioning how the World Cup helped Qatar [In 2022] become a nation-building project, and called Russia, which hosted the event in 2018, a nation-building project.“I’m not saying America doesn’t want the World Cup,” Crafton said. “Even within the states themselves, Kansas City may need this tournament more than New York, or LA, or even Miami. You then come up against cities that say ‘Hang on, who do you think you are?”When the cities were making their pitch to FIFA, in a meeting that took place in Los Angeles, Crafton mentioned that the Los Angeles Sports and Entertainment Commission, Kathryn Schloessman, asked what exactly the cities were getting out of this. FIFA executives replied, saying, “Hosting this tournament will put your city on the map.”Download The California Post App, follow us on social, and subscribe to our newsletters California Post News: Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, X, YouTube, WhatsApp, LinkedInCalifornia Post Sports Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, XCalifornia Post Opinion California Post Newsletters: Sign up here!California Post App: Download here!Home delivery: Sign up here!Page Six Hollywood: Sign up here!

AOC's Ambitious Move: Could Republicans Be Her Unexpected Allies? New

AOC's Ambitious Move: Could Republicans Be Her Unexpected Allies?

“Um, you know, I think that, uh … this is … such a … you know, I think that this is a, um … this is of course a … a very longstanding, um … policy of the United States.”These are words straight from the socialist horse’s mouth, from a candidate who believes she is destined for political greatness, despite her, shall I say, underwhelming ability to answer a straightforward question without sounding like a total airhead: Democratic New York Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. (RELATED: Munich Disaster Ended AOC’s Career)CNN ran a long story Thursday about Ocasio-Cortez and her allies laying the groundwork for a 2028 run. Her aides are reportedly planning a fall schedule to help launch her out of her bubble of adoring progressive fans and into a bigger national mix where she can draw more attention from independents and possibly Republicans, a crucial step if she were to run for Sen. Chuck Schumer’s seat or even the presidency. In fact, one person close to the New York congressman actually believes that Republicans will like her because of her honesty and willingness to “work for people.”NEW YORK, NEW YORK – OCTOBER 26: New York Mayoral Candidate Zohran Mamdani, center, celebrates with Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT), left, and U.S. Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY), right, during an election rally on October 26, 2025 at Forest Hills Stadium in the Queens borough of New York City. The mayoral election will take place on November 4, 2025. (Photo by Andres Kudacki/Getty Images)“We’re seeing an opening, definitely among swingy independents, but also among Republicans: They don’t agree with everything she says, but they believe she is honest and that she’s going to work for people,” the source told CNN. “That will be put to the test in the coming months: Will Democratic candidates in tough races recognize she is a net positive for their campaign?”In another great nugget, CNN reported that she was “annoyed” at the backlash she received for botching her big international appearance at the Munich Security Conference in February. That quote at the very beginning of this blog? That was her response to a question on whether the U.S. should commit troops to Taiwan if China were to launch an invasion. It was the kind of question one should be able to answer without hesitation if they think of themselves as senatorial or presidential material. And it was the kind of answer that should immediately disqualify one from holding either of those offices.“Um, you know, I think that, uh … this is … such a … you know, I think that this is a, um … this is of course a … a very longstanding, um … policy of the United States,” she said. “And I think what we are hoping for is that we want to make sure that we never get to that point.”If Ocasio-Cortez is the “obvious heir” to left-wing Independent Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders, one of the most popular progressives in decades, then I have a bridge to sell you. She certainly has a large fanbase. She is good at social media. But much like Kamala Harris, she lacks an essential quality: charm.Frankly, President Trump’s answer to that very same Taiwan question would not have been befitting a statesman. But he at least would have made everyone laugh.

Milania Giudice's Unexpected Legal Drama: What Really Happened? New

Milania Giudice's Unexpected Legal Drama: What Really Happened?

Teresa Giudice’s daughter Milania Giudice was arrested for assault last month, Us Weekly can confirm. The 20-year-old Real Housewives of New Jersey star was taken into custody by Montville Township police after her involvement in a domestic violence incident on May 14 that took place around 6:12 p.m. (The Sun was the first to report the news.) "On May 14, 2026, the Montville Township Police Department received a report of a dispute at a residence in town. The investigation resulted in Milania Giudice being charged on a summons complaint with one count of Simple Assault, in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C: 12-1a(1) a Disorderly Persons Offense," a statement from Chief Andrew Caggiano, obtained by Us, read. "She was released pending her next court appearance. A criminal complaint is merely an accusation. Despite this accusation, the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until she has been proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law." Further details have not been released since the complaint has been marked "confidential." A hearing was held on May 19, but no plea was entered. Milania — who is currently a student at the University of Tampa, majoring in advertising and public relations — was introduced to Bravo viewers as Teresa’s wild child daughter when RHONJ premiered in 2009. The reality star was known for her many antics and quotable moments as a kid — like calling her late Nonno “a nice little fella” or referring to her father, Joe Giudice, as an “old troll.” As she’s gotten older, Milania has gained quite a following on TikTok, constantly posting videos with her Bravo-famous family. (Along with Milania, Teresa and Joe share daughters Gia, 25, Gabriella, 22, and Audriana, 16.) On the day of her arrest, Milania posted a selfie video set to a TikTok audio that said, “You are a diva. A young, beautiful diva.” It was the last video she posted before returning to the platform on May 26. Milania didn’t acknowledge there was any drama at the time. While Milania is known for her close relationship with her father, who was deported to Italy in 2019 after completing a 41-month prison sentence and currently resides in the Bahamas, she has adapted to her new family life with stepfather Louis “Louie” Ruelas, who Teresa wed in August 2022. “Louie’s the best stepdad ever, and he’s so cool,” Milania told sister Gia during a 2025 episode of the “Casual Chaos” podcast. “Anytime I have a problem, he'll talk to me about it. He’s really the best stepdad ever. He’s really cool.” When Teresa and Louie got married, Milania and Gia gained two stepbrothers, who have become a part of their extended family. “It was, honestly, fine. Honestly, I think it would’ve been much harder if we had to move in with girls,” Milania said during the same podcast episode. “I’m so lucky that Louie only had two boys. Boys are so easy. They actually don’t give a s*** about anything.”
