Former Ambassador Highlights the Unseen US Support for Kosovo's Aspirations

Politikë Sinjali.com 04 Korrik 2026 18:29 Ish-ambasadori i Kosovës në Uashington, Avni Spahiu, ka deklaruar se Shtetet e Bashkuara të Amerikës kanë qenë vazhdimisht mbështetëse të Kosovës dhe aspiratave të saj për pavarësi.Spahiu ka përmendur rëndësinë e 4 korrikut për SHBA-në, duke e cilësuar atë si festën më të madhe në këtë shtet.“Po të themi që kjo festë është festa më e madhe në Shtetet e Bashkuara të Amerikës. Çdo festë tjetër është dytësore në krahasim me këtë. Amerikanët me të vërtetë i kushtojnë shumë rëndësi kësaj date të rëndësishme dhe duke parë raportet tona historike me Shtetet e Bashkuara të Amerikës, kjo festë ka pasur një shënim edhe në mesin e shqiptarëve, sidomos në Kosovë pas pavarësimit të saj. Domethënë në një farë mënyre është bërë edhe festë e jona, por kjo është bërë për shumë arsye. Ne e dimë që Shtetet e Bashkuara të Amerikës kanë qenë mbështetësi kryesor dhe sponsorizuesi kryesor i pavarësisë së Kosovës. Kujtojmë vitet ’90, ishte Amerika ajo që dëgjoi brengën e kosovarëve dhe shprehu mirëkuptim për kërkesat e tyre që në atë kohë nuk ishin, nuk kishte një miratim nga Shtetet e Bashkuara të Amerikës për pavarësi siç e dimë, por ishte një mirëkuptim dhe gatishmëri për të dëgjuar shqiptarët”, deklaroi ai.Spahiu ka kujtuar rolin e SHBA-së gjatë viteve ’90, duke thënë se ajo ka dëgjuar shqetësimet e shqiptarëve dhe ka treguar mirëkuptim për kërkesat e tyre, ndonëse në atë kohë nuk kishte ende mbështetje të plotë për pavarësinë.I njëjti u shpreh se shteti amerikan ka mbështetur fuqishëm procesin e pavarësisë së Kosovës dhe ka ndihmuar aspiratat e popullit kosovar.“Pastaj u mbështet kërkesa jonë për pavarësi dhe në fakt Shtetet e Bashkuara të Amerikës bënë çmos për të ndihmuar shqiptarët dhe aspiratat e tyre. Prandaj kjo është një lidhje shumë e rëndësishme mes dy vendeve, diçka që lidhet me miqësi të përjetshme me Shtetet e Bashkuara të Amerikës dhe kjo duhet të vazhdojë, domethënë në psikologjinë e çdo shqiptari, çdo kosovari të vërtetë është kjo miqësi midis popullit amerikan dhe Kosovës dhe këtë nuk duhet ta harrojmë asnjëherë, por duhet të punojmë që këtë ta forcojmë dhe ta ruajmë se është shumë e rëndësishme”, deklaroi Spahiu në Klan Kosova.Sinjali – aty ku e vërteta flet para lajmit!/GazetaSinjali/
