Trump Predicts Comprehensive Peace Agreement in Ukraine Involving All of Europe New

Trump Predicts Comprehensive Peace Agreement in Ukraine Involving All of Europe

Direktor VBA Đuro Jovanić optužen za prisluškivanje i vođenje bot-centra New

Jalen Brunson's Acting Debut on 'Law & Order: SVU' Features Knicks Nod New

Jalen Brunson's Acting Debut on 'Law & Order: SVU' Features Knicks Nod

See more of our coverage in your search results. Warning: Spoilers ahead! Do not proceed unless you’ve watched “Forsaken,” Thursday’s episode of “Law & Order: SVU.” Jalen Brunson had a new teammate for his big cameo on “Law & Order: SVU.”The Knicks star, 30, appeared on Thursday’s episode of his celeb pal Mariska Hargitay’s New York-based procedural, playing a fellow cop who assists Captain Olivia Benson (Hargitay) on a case. The guest spot marked Jalen’s acting debut, aside from hosting “Saturday Night Live” on Sept. 26. It showed. Jalen’s delivery was stiff—and he shouldn’t quit his day job for Hollywood.“As Robert De Niro once said about acting, ‘Don’t do anything!’. It seems Jalen listened to Bob,” Dinanda Klaassen, an actress and acting teacher at The Barrow Group in Manhattan, told The Post, noting Brunson did a “decent” job for a rookie.A proud Knicks fan, Klaassen added: “If Jalen can come back from a 29-point deficit, he can do Shakespeare in the Park for all I care.”Jalen Brunson appeared on “Law & Order” SVU with Mariska Hargitay (pictured), playing a detective who assists her on a case. Virginia Sherwood/NBCBrunson and Hargitay (pictured on “Law & Order: SVU”) are both Big Apple icons, so it’s a playful meeting of the minds. Virginia Sherwood/NBCIn the “Forsaken” episode, Benson and her team investigated the case of a teen girl who was assaulted at a wedding. As Benson looked into the girl’s stepfather, Rick (Bill Heck), she questioned a fellow cop who tangled with Rick in the past: Detective Madison (Brunson). Benson met Madison in a cafe. There, Jalen’s dad – former player and current Knicks assistant coach Rick Brunson – also had a minor cameo. Rick was shown for about three seconds, entering the eatery.Benson then approached Madison, who was on a stool by the bar, and said to him, “Look at you, out of uniform, huh!” before congratulating him on a recent promotion. Brunson (pictured in a “Law & Order: SVU”) shouldn’t quit his day job. for Hollywood. Virginia Sherwood/NBCRick Brunson (pictured with Jalen and Hargitay) also has a brief cameo in the episode. Charles Wenzelberg/NY PostMadison replied, “Thanks, Captain. I focused on my goals, did 110%. Things worked out.” In the context of the show, he was talking about Madison’s career success. Obviously, it was also a wink at Jalen’s big Knicks championship win this summer, which ended their 53-year drought.Jalen (pictured with Hargitay on the set of “SVU”) plays a character who gives Benson key information for a case. GC ImagesJalen (pictured with Hargitay) makes a Knicks reference, as his character said “I focused on my goals.” Bruce Glikas/WireImageThe two discussed Madison’s experience with Rick, whom he previously arrested for a DWI. After Madison shared a piece of crucial information, she distractedly told him, “Thanks, Jay. You’re the best,” before rushing away. So, Madison’s scene was brief, but it gave Benson a key assist on the case. Following Jalen’s “SNL” appearance, his teammate Josh Hart told USA Today: “I think his performance was fine. I don’t think he has a future in acting.” That’s true for Jalen’s acting chops for “SVU,” too. But, the show isn’t Shakespeare, and nobody needs it to be.Jalen (pictured with Mariska Hargitay at the Knicks championship parade) has a stiff delivery, but “SVU” isn’t Shakespeare. GC ImagesJalen (pictured with Hargitay) is one of many non-actors to appear on “SVU,” including Serena Williams. Corey Sipkin for the NY POSTThe crime drama, which has aired since 1999, has included appearances from a slew of iconic non-actor celebrities, such as Snoop Dogg (in 2019) and Serena Williams (in 2004).Jalen’s flat acting is different from Kim Kardashian’s notoriously dreadful efforts on Hulu’s legal drama “All’s Fair.” She’s a star of that show, so it sinks under a lack of acting chops. For Jalen, it’s a lower stakes ballgame to be in a quick scene.“It’s a weird feeling, but [I’m] grateful for the opportunity, grateful for Mariska,” he said at a Nov. 4 post-game press conference. “It’s pretty cool.”Rick (pictured with Jalen) also has a brief cameo in the episode. Jason Szenes for NY PostJalen (pictured) said it was “weird” but “pretty cool” to be on “SVU.” NBAE via Getty ImagesHargitay, 62, is a mainstay on Celebrity Row at Madison Square Garden, and she even bolted from her Broadway debut on the show “Every Brilliant Thing” to sit courtside and cheer for the Knicks during the finals.“I took four minutes off the running time of my show, and I knew the traffic would be crazy, so I sprinted from the Hudson Theater on 44th and 6th to MSG,” Hargitay told the Hollywood Reporter in June. “… The ten block sprint after a 2-show day was no joke.”After the Knicks pulled off their Game 4 comeback on June 10, defeating the Spurs 107-106, Hargitay quipped to THR: “I love my husband [Peter Hermann], and our wedding night was great and all, but I think it might have been the greatest night of my life.”Hargitay is often spotted on Celebrity Row at Madison Square Garden, watching Jalen play (pictured). NBAE via Getty Images Hargitay (pictured with Jalen) said she sprinted from her Broadway play to make it to the Game 4 championship game. Russell Brand Faces Up to Nine Years in Prison After Rape Conviction New

Russell Brand Faces Up to Nine Years in Prison After Rape Conviction

See more of our coverage in your search results. Russell Brand was found guilty of rape and three counts of sexual assault Thursday – and one UK legal expert estimates he could receive an eight- to nine-year prison sentence.Kally Sahota, senior solicitor and director of Sahota & Sahota Solicitors, exclusively told Page Six that he expects the comedian, 51, to receive a significant custodial sentence following the guilty verdict.“My estimate, based on the convictions and what is publicly known, would be in the region of eight or nine years, although the final sentence is for the judge to decide,” he said.Although a life sentence is legally possible for rape in England and Wales, Sahota said he would not expect Brand to receive one.Brand and his wife, Laura, arrive at London’s Southwark Crown Court on Nov. 5, 2026, where he was convicted of rape. AP Photo/Thomas KrychA court sketch by Elizabeth Cook depicts Russell Brand in the dock at Southwark Crown Court on Nov. 5, 2026. ZUMAPRESS.comThe sentencing guidelines for rape provide a range of four to 19 years in custody, he explained. The judge must also determine how to sentence Brand for his three sexual assault convictions and whether those sentences should run concurrently with his rape sentence or consecutively, meaning one after another.“The court then applies the principle of ‘totality’ to ensure the overall sentence reflects all the offending and is proportionate,” Sahota said. The lawyer’s estimate comes after a jury at London’s Southwark Crown Court found Brand guilty of one count of rape and three counts of sexual assault involving four women. He was acquitted of two other rape charges and one count of attempted indecent assault. In a sketch by Elizabeth Cook, Russell Brand listens to Judge Bennathan at Southwark Crown Court on Nov. 5, 2026. ZUMAPRESS.comPhoto of Russell Brand provided by the Metropolitan Police. The Metropolitan PoliceIf Brand receives a standard fixed-term sentence of at least four years for rape, he would normally be required to serve two-thirds of his sentence behind bars before being released on licence, according to Sahota. That means an eight- to nine-year sentence could translate to roughly five years and four months to six years in prison, with the remainder served under supervision in the community.Release on licence is not the same as being completely free, as Brand would have to follow conditions and could be sent back to prison if he breached them.Russell Brand arrives at Southwark Crown Court in London on Nov. 3, 2026, during his trial for rape and sexual assault. Wiktor Szymanowicz/ShutterstockRussell Brand signs copies of his book at Waterstones in Liverpool in a file photo from October 2010. Deborah Law / SplashNews.comSahota also addressed what life behind bars could look like for the high-profile entertainer, explaining that there is no equivalent of America’s separate white-collar prison system in England and Wales.Instead, prisoners are allocated according to factors including their security classification, risk and available space.A high-profile prisoner convicted of sexual offenses would be assessed for his safety and could potentially be placed in a unit for prisoners considered vulnerable, but that is not automatic.“There will not be any special treatment given his celebrity status,” Sahota said.Russell Brand being questioned by police prior to his conviction. Thomas Krych/Story Picture Agency/ShutterstockThe verdict also comes as Brand faces two additional rape allegations being investigated by the Metropolitan Police.Sahota said those allegations are separate from the convictions handed down Thursday, and prosecutors must decide whether there is enough evidence to bring further charges and whether a prosecution is in the public interest. If additional charges are brought, prosecutors could ask a judge to allow Brand’s current convictions to be introduced as “bad character” evidence in a subsequent trial. That is not automatic, however, as a judge would have to determine whether the evidence is admissible and whether it would be fair to use it.Any future jury would still have to decide the new allegations based on the evidence presented in that case.Brand and his wife, Laura, leave Southwark Crown Court on Nov. 2, 2026. ZUMAPRESS.comSexual abuse attorney Sarah Klein, the first known survivor of former USA Gymnastics doctor Larry Nassar, told Page Six that the verdict sends a powerful message to survivors.“Russell Brand’s defense questioned why women didn’t scream, fight back or run,” Klein told us.“The jury’s verdict sends a powerful message: Freezing is not consent. Silence is not consent. And survivors should not have to prove they fought hard enough to deserve justice.”Klein, of Manly, Stewart, Finaldi & Thom, also said Brand’s celebrity status should not have shielded him from accountability.“Celebrity is not immunity. Fame is not consent.
