Texas drunk driver gets seven years—and annual jail stays on victims’ birthdays

See more of our coverage in your search results. A drunk driver was sentenced to seven years behind bars for fatally plowing down a college student and seriously injuring another in Texas in 2023 — and must return to jail for 15 days annually, including Christmas, her birthday and the victims’ birthdays, for a decade after she’s released. Lynlee Pollis, 30, was convicted of intoxication manslaughter and intoxication assault for killing Southern Methodist University student Honor Wallace and leaving the college student’s pal Catherine “CeCe” Solberg seriously injured in a drunken crash in Dallas in September 2023, The Dallas Morning News reported. Lynlee Pollis, 30, was sentenced to seven years behind bars for fatally plowing down a college student and seriously injuring another in 2023. Dallas County JailSouthern Methodist University student Honor Wallace, 19, was killed in the drunken crash. University Liggett SchoolIn addition to being locked up for seven years, Pollis must serve 10 years of probation after her release and must report to jail for 15 days each year she’s on probation, State District Judge Jennifer Balido ordered. The 15 days include the three days around both Wallace’s and Solberg’s birthdays, Pollis’ own birthday, Christmas and the date of the tragic drunken collision.“You were so drunk and you wouldn’t admit it,” Solberg’s father Bobby said to Pollis during his victim impact statement. “You made us sit through this [trial] for three weeks.”“We’ve seen no personal accountability from you,” he fumed.Wallace’s father echoed similar sentiments when it was his turn, slamming Pollis’ “selfishness.”“You took the most precious gift from us through your selfishness,” David Wallace said. “Own it. Own what you did.”Testing showed Pollis had a blood alcohol concentration of 0.294% hours after the crash — nearly four times the legal limit for driving in Texas. Lynlee Pollis/FacebookPollis’ sentence was handed down Wednesday after the jury deliberated for around three hours at the end of an emotional two-and-a-half-week trial. The reckless driver was speeding at 67 mph in a 35 mph zone through a red traffic light in Dallas when she slammed into Wallace and Solberg’s vehicle, the outlet previously reported. Wallace, 19, was pronounced dead at the hospital, and Solberg, who was in the passenger seat, was left with a broken collarbone and traumatic brain injury.“You were so drunk and you wouldn’t admit it,” Catherine Solberg’s father Bobby said during his victim impact statement. Lynlee PollisA friend of the college students emotionally testified to the horror of seeing Solberg at the hospital in a neck brace covered in Wallace’s blood.“I couldn’t get the sight of all that blood out of my mind,” Haley Keller said. “Wherever I looked, I saw Honor’s blood all over CeCe.”Pollis suffered a fractured ankle and a bump on her forehead. She had her dog, a husky named Tequila, in the car with her, but the pup was unharmed. “This was no accident. This was no mistake,” prosecutor Andrew James said during closing arguments. “It was predictable consequences of the defendant’s choices.”Pollis was also ordered to serve 10 years of probation after her release and must report to jail for 15 days each year she’s on probation. Lynlee Pollis/FacebookBlood tests showed Pollis had a blood alcohol concentration of 0.294% hours after the crash — nearly four times the legal limit for driving in Texas. However, Pollis’ defense attorneys agreed that she was speeding and ran a red light but argued she was not drunk and that the blood alcohol evidence was unreliable because of issues with how it was collected, stored and tested. Her defense team asked the jury to give the now 30-year-old probation because she had no prior felony convictions — but James argued probation was “completely inappropriate” given her reckless actions.“Prison is where you put the worst of the worst,” defense attorney Scott Palmer said in his closing argument. “She is a good person who made a terrible decision. She is going to live in that hell for the rest of her life.”

Carole Radziwill racked up 83 traffic violations—and says every dollar is paid

It’s her big brake! Andy Cohen was left completely gobsmacked after spotting “The Real Housewives of New York City” star Carole Radziwill on the cover of Friday’s New York Post.“I had to go to Casa Magazines to see if it’s real. It’s real. I can’t believe it!” the Bravo executive said in a video posted to his Instagram Story Friday while holding an issue of the newspaper. Andy Cohen reacted to Carole Radziwill being on the cover of The New York Post Friday in an Instagram Story (seen above). “It’s real. I can’t believe it!” Cohen said in the video (seen above). The cover featured a glamorous photo of Radziwill attending this month’s 2026 Virtual Reali-Tea Awards with the headline, “Park Raving Mad ‘Real Housewife’ admits she’s biggest parking menace in NYC — face cones, expired placards, $8,000 tickets.” “Of everything happening in the world, Radzi’s parking is the most important thing in New York City,” Cohen laughed. “This is the most important thing.”He then poked fun at the reality star, calling her a “menace to the city,” before complimenting her photo. The Bravo exec (see here in September) was shocked that this story was the biggest news story of the day. Getty Images for SiriusXM“Of everything happening in the world, Radzi’s parking is the most important thing in New York City,” Cohen said, referring to the cover (above).“I can’t believe this is real. I just love it,” he said, before telling fans, “Pick up your copy today!” In a separate Instagram Story, he shared a digital version of the cover with the caption, “I cannot believe this is real.” Radziwill, 63, responded to Cohen’s video after it was reposted by the Queens of Bravo Instagram account, writing in the comments, “This is nuts! Dead. 😂”She continued, “Literally out here taking pictures with the traffic cops. I love them. I ♥️ NY.”Radziwill, seen above at Page Six’s “Virtual Reali-Tea” awards, responded to Cohen’s video Friday. Gregory Pace/Shutterstock“This is nuts! Dead,” she commented on his post. Madison McGaw/BFA.com / ShutterstockRadziwill also expressed her excitement over the major feature in an Instagram post Friday afternoon.“I’m on the cover of my hometown paper?! This is like a fever dream,” she captioned her post along with a photo of the cover.“I ♥️ the traffic cops. I ♥️my city and I ♥️ the New York Post. (Btw, I only overslept 17 times in 6 years? I deserve a 🗝️ to the city) Beep, beep, bitches. 🚗🚗,” she added. She ended her post by clarifying to the public that she has “paid every dollar of those tickets” and that she “stand[s] with the Dept. of Sanitation.” Radziwill (seen here in 2025) also celebrated the feature on Friday. Getty ImagesThe “RHONY” star (above) called the experience a “fever dream.” Charles Sykes/Bravo via Getty ImagesThe lead story, published by The Post Thursday, detailed Radziwill’s sneaky parking tactics and traffic violations.According to records, Radziwill racked up a staggering $8,000 in traffic violations in recent years — which she has completely paid off. She was also hit with 83 traffic violations over the past four years, with 17 dings for failing to move her car for street sweeping. She also admitted to using orange Con Edison traffic cones to save parking spots in the busy streets of NYC in this season of “RHONY.” The Post published photos of the traffic cones in her car that Radziwill uses to save parking spots (seen above). William Farrington for The NY PostThe Post also reported that she uses an expired FDNY union placard (seen above). William Farrington for The NY Post“The cone, yes. The cone. The cone is a cop family hack,” Radziwill shared in a confessional. “If I’m parked illegally or slightly too close to a hydrant, they will keep on walking.” The Post also revealed that Radziwill displays an expired FDNY union placard on her car’s dashboard, despite the permits being reserved exclusively for firefighters. The placard, which expired in February, belongs to a former president of the FDNY’s Uniformed Fire Officers Association, who last held the position in 2023.It is unclear how she obtained the cones or the placard and she did not respond to The Post’s request for comment.

Undated Goliath video shows rider repeatedly lifting from seat after fatal incident New

Undated Goliath video shows rider repeatedly lifting from seat after fatal incident

Published 16:25 16 Oct 2026 GMT+1He's lucky to still be here by the looks of it...Tragedy-struck theme park Six Flags Over Georgia is in the news again for reasons it would rather not be.Earlier this week, a man named Hassan Jihad Ibn Kariem lost his life while riding the site's Goliath rollercoaster, which is obviously horrific enough, but the same thing nearly happened in the past to someone else.An undated video is circulating on social media platform TikTok right now, depicting a young lad and his mates enjoying the hair-raising heights of Goliath, which reach as far up as 200 feet. Posted by the account @jims_legacy, this edgy clip is captioned 'My friend almost flew out his seat'. AdvertFootage shows the lad being lifted from the base of his seat multiple times as the coaster tests gravity's pull - the simple fact being that the safety straps holding him in place are not even close to tight enough.Somehow, the unidentified adrenaline junkie doesn't seem fazed by these non-stop close-calls, and neither do the people on either side of him. Most comments beside the video would be best represented by a stern shake of the head, but a few other users seem to be arguing that it's all to do with a thrilling phenomenon known labelled 'airtime'. "It's called airtime. Completely normal by design," argued one TikToker, referencing the heart-in-mouth affect rollercoasters can have on their riders."That restraint is NOT tight enough" and "You can look and see that his lap bar is further up than the others," read a couple more reactions."They need shoulder restraints too", "He's literally flying out the seat" and "It is very clear they did not pull his restraint down far enough. It appears they need to retrain some of these workers," wrote others.Even if this particular Goliath fan purposely cranked his safety bar more forward than everyone else, he's putting the reputation of Six Flags on the line.LADbible has reached out to the company for comment. The Goliath rollercoaster cost a man his life earlier this week (Six Flags Over Georgia) As word of Mr. Kariem's death made headlines just days ago, local mayor Michael Owens released a statement."Our thoughts and heartfelt condolences are with the individual's family, friends, and loved ones during this difficult time," it read."Mableton Public Safety Director Dr. Kerry Stallings is coordinating with Cobb County Police and park security as the situation is addressed. We are grateful to the personnel responding to this incident and will continue to support coordination with the appropriate authorities."Meanwhile, witnesses have since opened up about the traumatic event via 11Alive.One Six Flags Over Georgia visitor recalled: "We were ascending up and that is when we heard the screams. Then we looked down and saw people running and panicking."As soon as that happened, we got stuck. We didn't know if it was a problem with ours [carriage] or something else. That stopped and we were stuck up there for more than an hour. As we were going up, the carriage behind us, that has to be the one, because that's where everyone was running to. I am assuming they just stopped everything, and that's what got us stuck."We were all obviously concerned, we saw the ambulances come and everyone running over to our rollercoaster, but the worst part was just being up there for an hour with no updates, no news, nothing."A separate account of the incident went like this: "A young Black male was ejected from the vehicle. The vehicle hit him, and then he flew back up again, and it hit him again."That's when he was, I guess, flung from the ride."Featured Image Credit: jims_legacy/TikTokTopics: Theme Park, Social Media, US News

Siccome nessuno li ha eseguiti, all'alba me ne sono andato a casa."
