Khloé Kardashian’s Four-Year Celibacy Raises a Surprising Health Question New

Khloé Kardashian’s Four-Year Celibacy Raises a Surprising Health Question

Published 12:51 7 Oct 2026 GMT+1Khloé Kardashian made the shock confession, but is celibacy bad for your health?Khloé Kardashian has revealed she went four years without sex, and popular culture might have you thinking that’s the end of the world. The 42-year-old made the admission in a teaser for the new season of The Kardashians, revealing that, at the time of filming last December, she had been celibate for four years. However, it appears she could now be considering putting herself back out there, declaring: “I’m single, I might be ready to mingle.”While four years might sound like a long time, there is no medically prescribed amount of sex a person needs to have, and abstaining doesn’t mean your body suddenly starts behaving strangely.AdvertDr Shirin Lakhani, an expert in intimate and women’s health, explained that ‘the body should not undergo any particular changes simply because someone hasn't had sex for a certain amount of time’.A lack of intimacy can impact your mood (Getty Stock)Still, because sex can have certain physical and psychological effects, giving it up may mean missing some of those benefits.Your mood may changeSex causes the body to release chemicals including dopamine, oxytocin and endorphins, which are associated with pleasure, bonding and wellbeing.Dr Lakhani explained that celibacy may therefore bring ‘a reduction in oxytocin and endorphins as well as a dip in dopamine levels’.That could affect mood or motivation, although it doesn’t mean abstinence causes lasting hormonal problems. You might notice more stressThose same chemical reactions may explain why some people find sex relaxing.Oxytocin, dopamine and endorphins can help with stress, while oxytocin has also been associated with sleep. If sex was previously one of the ways you relaxed, its absence could therefore be noticeable. That doesn’t mean celibacy automatically makes you stressed or anxious, though, as people manage stress in countless other ways.Khloé revealed it had been more than four years for her (instagram/@khloekardashian)Your relationship could feel differentFor couples, a change in sexual activity can sometimes affect emotional intimacy. If two people previously had sex regularly and suddenly stop, one or both partners may feel less connected or become anxious about what the change means.Of course, a reduction in sex isn’t necessarily a sign that anything is wrong.Work, children, health and busy schedules can all change how frequently couples have sex.Your pelvic floor gets less of a workoutOrgasms cause the pelvic-floor muscles to contract and relax, effectively giving them a small workout. Those muscles support organs including the bladder, bowel and uterus, so keeping them strong is important. That doesn’t mean sex is required for a healthy pelvic floor, however.Pelvic-floor exercises can target the same muscles without sexual activity.Intimacy can have an array of benefits, but you shouldn't worry if you're celibate (Getty Stock)Menstrual cramps may feel differentSome people find orgasms help ease period pain. The uterus contracts during an orgasm before relaxing afterwards, which may temporarily relieve tension and cramping. So, if sex or orgasms previously helped with period discomfort, stopping could mean losing that particular form of relief.Post-menopausal vaginal changes may become more noticeableThe physical effects of celibacy can be more relevant after menopause.Dr Lakhani explained that, in post-menopausal women with lower oestrogen levels, reduced sexual stimulation may contribute to vaginal tissues becoming thinner, drier and less elastic more quickly.Importantly, celibacy itself does not cause menopause or switch off the production of reproductive hormones. You won’t permanently become ‘tighter’One persistent myth is that not having sex makes the vagina permanently tighter – or, conversely, that having lots of sex permanently stretches it.Neither is true.“Sex, or a lack of sex, does not cause permanent changes to the size or shape of the vagina or labia,” Dr Lakhani said, explaining that the vagina is highly elastic.Ultimately, four years without sex might be noteworthy Kardashian trivia, but medically there is no required quota to hit.As Dr Lakhani put it: “There is no medically ‘normal’ amount.”Featured Image Credit: instagram/@khloekardashianTopics: Women's Health, Sex and Relationships, Health, Celebrity

Trump Approves Nidal Malik Hasan’s Execution—What a Firing Squad Really Does New

Trump Approves Nidal Malik Hasan’s Execution—What a Firing Squad Really Does

Updated 14:23 7 Oct 2026 GMT+1Published 13:59 7 Oct 2026 GMT+1The Pentagon said that 'judgement day has finally come' for Nidal Malik HasanPresident Donald Trump has approved the execution of a former US Army major by firing squad, the Pentagon has announced. Spokesperson Sean Parnell said that the commander-in-chief has given the green light for Nidal Malik Hasan to meet his grisly fate, nearly two decades after the devastating Fort Hood shooting. It's a controversial and uncommon method of execution in the US - and those who have watched one unfold have conflicting opinions on the humaneness of the process. Hasan, 56, is one of four men on the military's death row at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas - and Parnell said 'judgement day has finally come' for him. AdvertOn Tuesday (6 October), the Pentagon spokesperson shared a social media post explaining that both Secretary of War Pete Hegseth and Trump have rubber stamped his pending execution. Hasan will meet his fate in December (Bell County Sheriff's Office via Getty Images)Hasan's scheduled death on 3 December will mark the first military execution since April 1961. He was given the ultimate punishment in August 2013 by a military jury after he was found guilty of 45 counts of premeditated murder and attempted premeditated murder. The former US Army psychiatrist, from Virginia, opened fire with a laser-sighted handgun at the Texas military base, Fort Hood, in November 2009. It left 13 soldiers dead and another 30 injured. Hasan was left wheelchair-bound as he was partially paralysed due to a shootout with police who battled to subdue him during the mass shooting - and he is now set to soon meet a similar fate to his victims. If the military execution goes ahead, his last moments will likely be extremely unpleasant. The metal chair at the rear of the room is what death row inmates are strapped to before the firing squad begin (South Carolina Department of Corrections)The procedure is expected to be similar to those used by US states who put prisoners to death with a firing squad, such as Idaho, Mississippi, Oklahoma, South Carolina and Utah. It may be comparable to the execution of Brad Sigmon in South Carolina in March last year, which saw three officials open fire at him while aiming for a red bullseye target on his chest. Witnesses described how they saw the double murderer strapped to a chair, which had a basin underneath it to catch blood, before a hood was then placed over his head. A curtain that had concealed the firing squad was then opened, before shots were fired simultaneously at Sigmon. A reporter for the Associated Press described observing his chest rise and fall several times after the bullets penetrated his body. It took 3 minutes for him to die after the first shot was fired. How death by firing squad unfolded for SigmonBrad Sigmon was pronounced dead three minutes after his execution began (South Carolina Department of Corrections)Brutally, the bullets that were used are designed to break apart on impact and inflict maximum damage on the condemned inmate. Those who observe such executions are often given ear plugs to protect their ears. As detailed by FOX Carolina News in wake of Sigmon's death, he was strapped down to a metal chair that is bolted to the floor in the execution chamber at the Broad River Correctional Institution in South Carolina. Those responsible for putting him to death were Department of Corrections employees who, interestingly, had volunteered for the macabre job. The publication reported that there was a 'portal' in the wall of the execution chamber, which is where rifles that were each loaded with live ammunition were positioned, before the triggers were pulled from around 15ft (4.6m) away. After the warden recited the execution order, bullets rained down on Sigmon, before a doctor pronounced him dead minutes later. Although his method is perhaps more definitive that other methods such as the lethal injection, as demonstrated during Christa Pike's botched execution last week, it apparently isn't any easier to watch. What witnesses have describedReporters who saw Ronnie Lee Gardner be put to death by a firing squad in Utah in June 2010 gave chilling accounts of what happened in the moments after the trigger was pulled. The killer explicitly wished to meet his fate this way and famously told the Deseret News in 1996: "I like the firing squad. It's so much easier... and there's no mistakes."KSL5TV former reporter Sandra Yi explained that Gardner's head was 'restrained' by officials during his execution, ensuring he could not budge. "There was a strap across his forehead, so he couldn't move his head," she said press at the time, as per the Associated Press. "But I could see him moving his eyes...and it looked almost like he could see us through the window, even though he couldn't. When he was shot, some of us I think weren't sure if he had passed away because we could see movement. "He had his fist clenched and we can see his elbow move up and down and his thumb and forefingers moving rubbing against each other." Others shared similar accounts, such as Pat Reavy from Deseret News, who recalled how Gardner 'kept moving' after the round of shots were fired at him. The general consensus was that the firing squad got the job done efficiently, as KTVX-TV reporter Marcos Ortiz said: "What caught my attention was that it was so sudden, so quick. Boom, boom! Just like that."Sherly Worsely, reporting for KSL NewsRadio, concurred and described it as being 'over pretty quickly'. "It was cleaner than I expected and it was fast," she said. "But he moved, he moved a little bit. And to some degree that bothers me and to some degree that mirrors the last few weeks of his life...because he was fighting to stay alive the last few weeks of his life, legally, and that seemed to carry on the last 60 to 120 seconds." In response to the news of Hasan's execution date being set, Death Penalty Action - an organisation which opposes capital punishment - said: "There is nothing Donald Trump loves more than the power to kill."Featured Image Credit: Kevin Dietsch/Getty ImagesTopics: US News, True Crime, Army, Donald Trump

6 Quiet Signs You’re Over-Explaining Yourself to Feel Safe New

6 Quiet Signs You’re Over-Explaining Yourself to Feel Safe

1. You rehearse simple requests before making themA routine request can feel like a case you must carefully build. Before asking a partner for help or requesting time off, you mentally test every sentence for possible objections.Preparation is useful, but constant rehearsal may suggest you expect ordinary needs to be challenged. Try stating one low-stakes request in a single clear sentence. The goal is not to sound flawless; it is to notice that respectful communication does not require a courtroom defense.2. You add evidence to feelings that need noneInstead of saying you felt hurt, tired or uncomfortable, you provide a detailed timeline proving why the feeling is justified. You may fear that emotion alone will not be considered credible.Facts can clarify a situation, but feelings do not need to win an argument before they deserve acknowledgment. Practice naming the emotion first: “I felt dismissed in that conversation.” Add context only if it helps mutual understanding, not merely to secure permission to feel what you already feel.3. You apologize before anyone has objectedYou may begin harmless messages with “Sorry to bother you” or apologize for taking time to answer a question. The apology acts like emotional padding, designed to reduce the chance of irritation before it appears.Notice when regret is genuine and when it is simply a fee you pay for occupying space. Replace automatic apologies with accurate language: “Thanks for waiting,” “I have a question,” or “I need a moment.” Clarity can be considerate without making you smaller.4. You answer questions nobody actually askedA friend asks why you declined an invitation, and you explain your workload, energy level, family plans and entire week. The extra detail may be an attempt to prevent an imagined accusation of selfishness or dishonesty.Pause after giving the direct answer. Let the other person decide whether more information is needed. “I can’t make it tonight” is often complete. Withholding unnecessary detail is not deception; it is allowing a normal answer to stand without anticipating every possible judgment.5. You soften boundaries until they become negotiationsWhen saying no, you might pile on explanations, alternatives and reassurance until the other person hears an opening. A boundary meant to protect your time becomes a discussion about whether your reasons are sufficiently persuasive.Give the essential information, then stop. “I’m not available this weekend” is clearer than a long account someone can debate line by line. Warmth can remain in your tone, but firmness belongs in the message. A boundary does not need hostility, and it does not require unanimous approval.6. You leave conversations auditing every wordAfter an ordinary exchange, you replay your tone, facial expression and phrasing, searching for something that might have been misunderstood. The conversation has ended, but your internal review continues as though one imperfect sentence could damage the relationship. When the replay begins, ask whether there is concrete evidence that repair is needed. If there is, clarify once. If not, resist reopening the conversation for reassurance. Healthy relationships usually have room for pauses, awkward wording and ordinary human imperfection.

Why the US Embassy Is Urging Americans to Leave Russia Immediately

The US has issued advice for Americans stuck in Russia amid 'plague' fears, as The State Department has warned they should 'depart immediately'. President Trump has said he is set for a call with Russian leader Vladimir Putin 'very soon' following the death of a researcher at a plague research institute in Siberia. The president was asked whether US intelligence had any further details on the unfolding incident, to which he noted they are in 'very deep discussions'.Following the outbreak, after which dozens of people are reported to be in isolation, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said on Tuesday: "I think it’s incumbent upon Russia to obviously share more information with the world.Advert"Maybe it’s bigger than we thought. We don’t know, but I think it would be reckless at this moment, given the limited information we still have, to speculate."And the US Embassy in Moscow has now issued a warning to Americans who are in Russia, outlining a ten-step plan as they urge people to 'depart immediately'.Their website states: "The State Department’s Level 4 Travel Advisory (Do Not Travel) for Russia remains in place and states US citizens currently in Russia should depart immediately.Trump noted that he is due to have a phone call with Putin. (Getty Stock Images)"US citizens planning travel to Russia are again strongly advised not to travel to Russia due to risk of wrongful detention and security concerns."Their ten-step 'actions to take' include:US citizens in the area should follow the guidance of local health authorities, avoid affected facilities, and seek medical care promptly if they develop fever or respiratory symptoms.Visit the CDC Page on Plague for additional information about the disease.Visit the CDC Travelers’ Health Page for Russia for country-specific health updates.Monitor your health for 14 days following travel if you traveled to an area experiencing the outbreak.Review the US Embassy country page for general health information.Refer to the Embassy’s list of medical providers.Check with your travel insurance provider about medical evacuation options should you fall ill while overseas. The extent of the outbreak is currently unknown. (Getty Stock Images)Have a plan to depart in an emergency that does not depend on U.S. Government help.Monitor local media for updates. Be prepared to adjust your plans.Enroll in the Smart Traveler Enrollment Program (STEP) to receive health and security updates.American officials further note that they are 'tracking the situation closely' as they work to understand the extent of the infectious disease. The late researcher, 28-year-old Darya Shipilova, died last week just two days after falling ill.As for her cause of death, authorities in Russia, who have downplayed the incident, say she died of 'pneumonia of an unknown aetiology'.

Đoković osvojio Peking, a iznos njegove nagrade privlači veliku pažnju

Meng Gao / Alamy / Profimedia autor: 06. okt.
