Golden Bachelor Alum Amy Kaplan Embraces Grandmotherhood with Joy New

Golden Bachelor Alum Amy Kaplan Embraces Grandmotherhood with Joy

Golden Bachelor alum Amy Kaplan’s family just got a little bigger. Amy exclusively tells Us Weekly that her daughter Lexi Kaplan Giudice, 33, has welcomed her first baby, a son named Jordan Arthur, marking a major milestone for the Kaplan family and officially making Amy a grandmother for the very first time. Jordan arrived on Thursday, June 18, at 5:36 p.m., weighing an impressive 9 pounds, 11 ounces. While Amy admits the title of “grandmother” still feels surreal, meeting her grandson instantly changed everything. “You know what's so funny? I don't feel like I'm a grandmother,” Amy tells Us with a laugh. “I'm just too young, even though I know I'm old.” But after spending time with baby Jordan, she says she’s already completely smitten. “I love him. He's precious. He's gorgeous,” Amy gushes. “I love holding him. He opens his little eyes, and he was looking straight at me and listening to me speak. He's very alert.” The emotional moment Jordan entered the world is one Amy says she'll never forget. “The moment he was born, I was crying,” she recalls. “As soon as I saw him, he was just precious. He's a combination of Lexi and Jeff. He looks like a perfect combination of them.” Jordan’s middle name carries special significance for the family. Amy reveals that Arthur was chosen in honor of her late father, and they chose a “J” name so he would have the same initials as Lexi’s husband, Jeff Giudice. The couple had been calling their son “Jordy” for months before his arrival and felt confident they had found the perfect name long before delivery day. Lexi, who married husband Jeff on May 31, 2025, announced her pregnancy earlier this year. After nine months of anticipation, she says finally meeting her son made every challenge worthwhile. “I'm exhausted,” Lexi tells Us from the hospital. “I didn't sleep for, like, a second last night. The first night is no joke. It is definitely very difficult, but it's worth it.” Jordan was delivered via C-section after what Amy describes as a relatively smooth procedure. Amy and Lexi’s twin sister, Allie Kaplan Rutstein, waited anxiously nearby while Jeff accompanied Lexi during surgery. “Lexi was a little nervous and didn't know what to expect,” Amy says. “She got an epidural, and 45 minutes later, he was out and she was sewn up.” For Lexi, the most memorable moment came when she finally laid eyes on her son despite battling nausea throughout the procedure. “I was so nauseous the entire surgery,” she recalls. “But when I saw him, I was immediately like, ‘I'm in love with him.’ I was crying, and he was just perfect and amazing.” Watching her daughter step into motherhood has left Amy reflecting on just how quickly time has passed. “It's surreal,” she says. “I just had them the other day. Thirty-three years later, it's kind of scary.” Adding to the excitement is the fact that Lexi isn't the only Kaplan twin expecting. Allie is currently pregnant with a baby girl and is due on September 7, meaning Amy will welcome two grandchildren less than 10 weeks apart. Fans first met Amy on The Golden Bachelor season 2, but she and her daughters have since built a devoted social media following through their family-focused content. Known online as the Kaplan Twins and the Kaplan Twins Mama, the trio regularly share glimpses into their close-knit relationship, family milestones, motherhood journeys, lifestyle moments and behind-the-scenes updates from everyday life. Allie says seeing her sister become a mom made the reality of her own upcoming motherhood journey sink in. “It's so crazy and surreal to see him finally here!” Allie tells Us. “I watched my sister's belly grow for nine months and I still can't believe that he was growing inside of her. Seeing Lexi hold him for the first time and become a mom was such a special moment. It made everything feel real instantly.” She adds, “Seeing him finally here made me even more excited to meet my own baby girl in a few months!” The sisters hoped to have children close in age, inspired by their own bond as identical twins. “Growing up as twins, it always felt like I had a built-in best friend, and we wanted to do the same for our kids,” Allie explains. “It's also so special because since we're identical twins, even though the babies are technically cousins, genetically they will be half-siblings.” Amy agrees that having grandchildren born so close together will create a unique connection. As for what baby Jordan will call her, Amy is still undecided. “Is it going to be Gigi, Coco, Mimi, Nonna? I don't know,” she says. “I guess whatever he calls me.” One thing she does know? She plans to be a very hands-on grandmother. “I'm going to spoil them,” Amy says with a laugh. “I can't wait to share every moment with them. I'm going to be very, very close to them.” For now, the proud mom and newly minted grandmother is simply soaking in the joy of a growing family. “Most grateful for my family,” Amy tells Us. “It's really surreal, and I'm super excited. Having the responsibility as a grandparent, it's a pleasure. It's a joy. It's not a chore at all. We're very, very lucky.” Follow the family on social media at @the_kaplan_twinsmama and @the_kaplan_twins for more updates on their growing family and life’s latest adventures.

Why 'Maternal Instinct' Left Out Taylor Parker's Side of the Story New

Why 'Maternal Instinct' Left Out Taylor Parker's Side of the Story

The director of the hit Netflix documentary Maternal Instinct is opening up about the deliberate choice she said she made not to include convicted killer Taylor Parker’s side of the story. “We decided not to interview Taylor,” filmmaker Jessica Dimmock told Oxygen in an interview published June 18, noting she and her production team opted against meeting with Parker, 33, to discuss her disturbing crime and instead told the story from the perspective of her victims and those who witnessed her devious ways firsthand. “Obviously, Reagan and her family are the most severe and the biggest victims in this, but [there are] other people that she deceived, other people that she hurt along the way, coworkers, former friends,” Dimmock continued. Parker is currently on death row in Texas for killing pregnant Reagan Simmons-Hancock, using the 21-year-old as part of her sinister scheme to claim the child was her own after attacking Simmons-Hancock on October 9, 2020, and cutting her fetus from her uterus, leading to the death of Simmons-Hancock and her baby girl, Braxlynn Sage. According to the doc, Parker committed the crime after realizing her fake pregnancy would soon be exposed when she passed her alleged due date. Two days after they seemingly enjoyed a girls’ day together, Simmons-Hancock was viciously murdered by the woman she thought was her friend. Parker then drove to the hospital in a car registered to her then-boyfriend, Wade Griffin, when police stopped her. After arriving via ambulance, investigators were on the scene and doctors confirmed in a medical exam — after Parker tried refusing to be checked — that she had not shown any signs of giving birth vaginally. (Authorities later learned that Parker had a hysterectomy, meaning she did not have a uterus and could physically not get pregnant.) Parker was ultimately found guilty of capital murder in October 2022. Simmons-Hancock’s family members detailed the crime in Netflix’s doc, reminiscing on the tragic and fateful day that changed their lives forever as well as the shock they felt to know Parker was “capable” of such an evil deed. Griffin also broke down while recalling her “unimaginable” crime, noting that “everything was a lie.” “It felt like, you know, I think as a director, ‘What is she going to say?’” Dimmock elaborated. “From everything that I’ve read, from the way that the trial went, I don’t think she’s remorseful. There doesn’t really seem to be evidence that she’s remorseful. If she said she was remorseful, could I even believe her, and does that matter?” “I just wasn’t sure that there was anything that she could say that would be additive, or that I could believe,” Dimmock continued, noting, “It felt disrespectful to those that she hurt the most to include her take.” Maternal Instinct is now streaming on Netflix.

New Twist in Nancy Guthrie Case: What Does the Second Ransom Note Reveal? New

New Twist in Nancy Guthrie Case: What Does the Second Ransom Note Reveal?

A new report claims that a second ransom note in the Nancy Guthrie case acknowledged that the missing family matriarch is dead. On Monday, May 22, NBC News reported that it reviewed two notes allegedly sent following Today anchor Savannah Guthrie’s mom Nancy’s disappearance on February 1. In one note, the alleged kidnappers claimed that Nancy had died but there was no apology or any request for payment for the return of her body, per the outlet. However, TMZ stated that another ransom note it received did not include an apology nor acknowledgment that Nancy was dead. It is not clear whether the note that TMZ received was sent by the same person who originally contacted authorities. The site reported that it received dozens of emails from yet another person who insisted that they knew Nancy’s whereabouts and the identity of her alleged kidnappers. This person — who stressed that they were not directly involved in the kidnapping — initially asked for bitcoin in exchange for crucial information. While an early email said that “time is of the essence,” TMZ reported that a later email stated that “time is no longer of the essence,” seemingly indicating that Nancy was dead. Us Weekly reached out to the Pima County Sheriff’s Office for comment. Nancy was last seen alive when she was dropped off at her home by her son-in-law, Tommaso Cioni, on the night of January 31. She was officially reported missing the following day after a friend alerted the Guthrie family that Nancy did not turn up as planned to a virtual worship service. (Both Savannah’s sister, Annie Guthrie, and her husband were cleared in the case by Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos.) While authorities have released doorbell camera footage showing a masked man at Guthrie’s front door, no suspect or person of interest has been named publicly. On February 24, Savannah, 54, released a social media video offering a $1 million reward for information that leads to Nancy’s return. Scrutiny over supposed ransom notes in the case was reignited over the weekend when Air Mail reported that investigators first received communication from an alleged kidnapper on February 2. The outlet reported that the first note mentioned that Nancy was “safe but scared” and asked for $4 million to be paid by February 5 for her return, warning that the sum would increase to $6 million if the cash was not sent by February 9. This first note allegedly warned that their terms should be met “or else,” per Air Mail. A law enforcement task force allegedly employed a tactic known as “tickling the wire,” where they sent $152 to a Bitcoin account to see whether any financial transactions with the suspected kidnapper could be tracked. The money was reportedly never touched by the alleged kidnapper and their deadline eventually passed. On February 6, authorities obtained a second note with a “sputtering and labored” tone where the writer alleged that Nancy was dead and offered to return her body for an undisclosed sum, Air Mail reported. Savannah and her siblings Camron and Annie, 56, released a video on February 7 offering to engage further with alleged kidnappers. “We received your message and we understand. We beg you now to return our mother to us so that we can celebrate with her,” Savannah said via Instagram. “This is the only way we will have peace. This is very valuable to us and we will pay.” During her exclusive sitdown with Hoda Kotb on Today in March, Savannah addressed the authenticity of the various ransom letters they’d received since Nancy disappeared. “There are a lot of different notes that came,” she told Hotb, 61. “I think most of them, it’s my understanding, are not real. … I believe the two notes that we received, that we responded to, I tend to believe those are real.” Earlier this month, Sheriff Nanos, 70, indicated that the case has been “difficult” to solve because it was dependent on DNA evidence. “What really makes it prolonged is we do rely on labs,” he told Arizona outlet KOLD News 13 on June 1. “You don’t want to jeopardize not just the integrity of this case, but the integrity of DNA as a supplement to law enforcement work.”
