I’m going to see them tonight for dinner.” She continued, “You know, Barack [Obama] cried when they went to college. I was like, ‘Bye little … Goodbye.’ Now, Friday nights aren't wrecked with terror and fear about, ‘Where are you?’” Michelle further gushed that she has loved her daughters’ “emancipation and growth” since the pair have left their childhood home. When Stewart, 63, asked whether the Becoming author missed the “pattern” of raising kids, she shook her head no. “I’m good, look at all this meaning I have,” Michelle quipped, gesturing to her podcast studio and life after mothering young and later teen children. “I have a wonderful pattern. I love my schedule; I have a great schedule and it’s all mine.” However, Michelle can understand how Stewart and her brother, podcast cohost Craig Robinson, can wax nostalgic for their kids’ younger years. “I think fathers can be that way because you weren't there from 6:00 to 9:00 at night, you missed a lot of it,” she stated. “I mean, I've had so much quality time with my children. So much; I know them inside and out.” Malia and Sasha were by Michelle and former senator Barack’s side when he ran and was elected president of the United States. Donald Trump's $2,000 Check Promise: What's Really Happening?

Donald Trump promised to send $2,000 tariff dividend checks to almost every American back in November 2025. Nine months later, the checks have not arrived and the president himself does not seem entirely sure they ever will. When NBC's Tom Llamas asked Trump directly whether he could promise the checks would come, Trump said: "Oh yeah, sure. I can do that." Then, in the same breath: "I haven't made the commitment yet, but I may make the commitment." That is the latest official position from the White House on the $2,000 checks. A promise that is also not a promise. A commitment to maybe make a commitment. The timeline so far Trump first floated the idea in October 2025 . By November, he was posting about it regularly on Truth Social, telling Americans that tariff revenue would fund $2,000 payments to low- and middle-income households. VT reported on who would be eligible , including children and dependents who could push the total per household significantly higher. Warnings were issued to unmarried Americans about how the payment structure could affect them differently. Married couples were told to pay attention to specific details about how the checks would be calculated. Then the goalposts started moving. In December, Trump told reporters the checks would arrive 'probably in the middle of next year, a little bit later than that'. In January, when the New York Times asked for an update, Trump's first response was: "I did do that? When did I do that?" After being reminded of his own promise, he said: "The tariff money is so substantial that I'll be able to do $2,000 sometime. I would say toward the end of the year." In February, the NBC interview happened. Promise, contradiction, pivot to talking about the military instead. In July, an expert shared what was described as a 'positive update' on the checks. But as of today, August 28, 2026, no American has received a $2,000 tariff dividend check. Trump unveiled new tariffs on his 'Liberation Day'. Credit: Chip Somodevilla / Getty The contradictions The biggest problem with the $2,000 checks is that nobody in Trump's own administration agrees on how they would work. Trump has said he does not need Congress to approve the payments. "No, I don't believe we do," he told the New York Times. "We have it coming in from other sources." His Treasury Secretary, Scott Bessent, has said the opposite. "We will see. We need legislation for that," Bessent told Fox News in November 2025. Bessent later told ABC News that tariff revenue 'could come in many forms', which sounded a lot like a man preparing the ground for the payments to arrive as something other than a cheque in the post. The $1,776 that already went out There is one payment that has actually been made. Military members received a $1,776 'warrior dividend' earlier this year. Trump described it as proof that tariff revenue was already being put to use. That was not true. The Associated Press reported that the $1,776 payment was taken from supplemental housing funding that military members were already set to receive. It was not new money generated by tariffs. It was existing money rebranded. Will the $2,000 checks ever arrive? As of today, nobody knows. The president has said they will come. He has also said he has not committed to them. He has said they do not require congressional approval. His Treasury Secretary has said they do. The timeline has slipped from 'mid-2026' to 'toward the end of the year' to 'I may make the commitment'. What is known is that the promise was made, the promise was repeated, the promise was widely covered, and nine months later the only money that has gone out is a military payment that was funded from an existing pot and had nothing to do with tariffs. The end of the year is four months away. Whether the checks arrive before then, after then, in a different form, or not at all is a question that even the president cannot seem to answer the same way twice. La joven fue localizada junto a otras siete personas en la comunidad de El Durazno, en el municipio de Jerez.Acusaron a "La China" de amenazas y narcomenudeoEl caso dio un giro luego de que, dos de los rescatados dieran su testimonio en el que señalaron a la detenida de obligarlas, bajo amenazas, a realizar actividades ilícitas como narcomenudeo, "halconeo" y reclutamiento delictivo. Según el informe oficial, la imputada coordinaba la captación de jóvenes para integrarlos a la estructura del Cártel Jalisco Nueva Generación (CJNG) con operaciones en la zona norte de la entidad. Leslie Mann is offering fans an update on her husband Judd Apatow’s journey on the controversial weight loss drug Ozempic. “He’s on Ozempic, he likes to talk about it, and he has gained, like, 15 pounds in four years,” Mann, 54, said on the Thursday, August 27, episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live!, speaking about her husband’s weight loss journey. “He’s on the highest dose.” She continued, “He likes to outrun the feeling that you get that Ozempic gives you to stop eating. He likes to, like, override it or outrun it. He’s very proud of the fact that the pharmaceutical companies don't have control over him. … It’s so weird.” Ozempic and other similar semaglutides are commonly prescribed to adults who struggle with weight-related conditions, including diabetes, to slim down. Doctors have since warned individuals for using the medication for casual weight loss. As for Apatow, the 58-year-old filmmaker began taking GLP-1 medications nearly two years ago. “I am on so much Ozempic right now,” the Knocked Up director said during a 2024 stand-up show in New York City. “I’ve been on it for six months, I’ve gained four pounds. I don’t know how it’s supposed to work. It makes you nauseous, so you don’t want to eat, but I take it as a challenge to eat through the nausea.” He added at the time, “You know, like, ‘I’m gonna f***ing prove this medicine doesn’t work.’ Sometimes I’ll eat ice cream and shoot myself with Ozempic at the same time just to see who wins the battle. It’s been a draw so far. That experiment cost me $40,000.” Apatow has previously been candid about his experience trying to lose and maintain his weight. “[Leslie] put me on the Goop detox diet,” he revealed on Live With Kelly and Ryan in 2017, referring to Gwyneth Paltrow’s lifestyle company. “She has a diet up there [on her website], and I did it, and then suddenly, I looked like Ryan [Seacrest] for a while. I got skinny and handsome. … I'm trying very hard to keep it together.” At the time, Apatow noted how Mann was “cooking all this food” that he supplemented with a new exercise routine. “I did a little SoulCycle Hamilton ride the other day, you know how it goes,” he quipped. “I’m trying to ‘cause I hate being healthy, I don’t like it, but I saw an article about ‘dad bods.’ It’s, like, when you work out a little bit and look a little crappy, and my friend sent me an article about it and I clicked the link and there was a picture showing what it was and the picture was of me. En las imágenes captadas en video se observa a la mujer salir de un inmueble mientras lleva a su perrito y empuja una carriola en la que se encuentra su pequeño hijo.Todo transcurre con normalidad durante los primeros segundos, hasta que otro perro aparece en la escena y comienza a acercarse de manera agresiva. La situación cambia rápidamente y la mujer intenta controlar lo que está ocurriendo a su alrededor por lo que intentar retroceder para ingresar de nuevo al inmueble y cerrara la puerta para evitar ser atacados, pero desafortunadamente una de las llantas de la carriola se atora haciendo caer el carrito con el bebé adentro. Un hombre ayuda a una mujer que fue atacada por un perro de gran tamaño cuando paseaba a su mascota y llevaba a su bebé en una carriola. Créditos: Redes sociales Las imágenes muestran a la mujer cargando al cachorro para tratar de mantenerlo a salvo del ataque realizado por el enorme perro, mientras se aleja algunos metros de la carriola tirada en el suelo, que tenía al menor en su interior, en un intento por detener el ataque del can.La escena resulta especialmente llamativa porque, mientras el perro de la mujer se encuentra en medio del conflicto, ella opta por cargar y proteger al cachorro. El bebé, por su parte, queda momentáneamente separado de la atención directa de su madre.Posteriormente, otra persona aparece en el lugar y se acerca para ayudar. La intervención permite que la situación comience a controlarse, mientras la mujer vuelve a ocuparse de la carriola y de su hijo.El video permite ver que afortunadamente, la agresión del perro se concentro en la mujer que protegía al cachorrito y no en el bebé al interior de la carriola. Hasta el momento se desconoce que tan graves fueron las lesiones que sufrió la mujer al ser mordida por el enorme perro en varias ocasiones.La grabación generó un amplio debate entre usuarios de redes sociales, principalmente por la decisión de la mujer de tomar primero a su mascota mientras su hijo permanecía junto a la carriola.
