North Korea Displays Artillery with Anti-US Message Amid Rising Tensions

The two countries are technically still at war despite a 1953 ceasefire agreement
Concerns about a third world war are rising again as North and South Korea continue to butt heads after letters were sent to the UN Security Council.
Tensions between the countries are always high, considering they're technically still only in a long-held ceasefire which was signed all the way back in 1953, but despite the South Korean president Lee Jae Myeung proposing talks to end the war, things are looking extremely troubling.
Pyongyang, the capital of North Korea, sent letters to the UN repeating accusations that Seoul fabricated a September landmine incident, and now ominous artillery weapons have been spotted close to the border, with one marked with a pretty terrifying message.
Three North Korean armoured vehicles, known as howitzers, were spotted close to heavily armed border, with one appearing to include a message which read: "Destroy the US imperialist aggressors, the sworn enemies of the Korean people!"

After more than 70 years without military action between the two rival countries, the guns being aimed directly towards the south was an 'unusual' display of the artillery at the country's disposal.
"It is highly unusual (for North Korea) to expose its self-propelled artillery so conspicuously,” said Lim Eul-chul, a professor at Kyungnam University in Seoul.
"By deliberately displaying it, North Korea is signalling through action, not words, that it intends to enforce its border policy through force rather than dialogue or negotiation."
It also comes after some increased interest into Kim Jong Un following false reports that the North Korean supreme leader had died of a brain haemorrhage, with the 'world's most dangerous 13-year-old' set to take over when he does pass away.
Danger runs in the family it seems, as his sister Kim Yo Jong also delivered a pretty terrifying threat to their near neighbours when the rumours of Kim Jong Un's death started to circulate.

She said that North Korea would 'mercilessly eliminate' South Korean troops if any of their personnel were harmed, following warning shots which were allegedly fired from South Korea towards the border.
The 39-year-old, who works as Director of the General Affairs Department of the Workers' Party of Korea, added: “New countermeasures will enter combat readiness along the entire border. The South does not even know the meaning of ‘audacity’.
“Calling it provocation while firing at people who did not shoot a single bullet is the definition of audacity.”
So, if you were planning on making the already risky trip to North Korea for a winter break or summer holiday, you might want to find yourself a new destination, as tensions between the two countries are under serious threat of boiling over.
