He was joined by appalled X users and outraged prominent figures

Michael Dell, founder of Dell Technologies has taken to social media in what appears to be a bid to defend his wife from internet trolls.

Susan went viral after she appeared in a clip showing her in the Oval Office on October 7 with Donald Trump standing alongside her husband to comment on a $6.25 billion pledge they made towards helping 25 million children build a $250 financial foundation, the Daily Mail reported.

Susan said, “To every child across the country, these accounts are for you. We believe in you.”

Despite the generosity of the act, internet users were quick to seize on her appearance as an opportunity to mock her red dress and general look.

Conservative commentator Mike Cernovich summed up the controversy when he defended Susan on X, “The Dell family gave 7 billion dollars directly to American children.

“And instead of gratitude, there's much discussion of a 62-year-old woman's looks.”

Michael Dell himself seems to have joined the defence of his wife by sharing posts online in support of her.

One was from an X user called Feisty Floridan who said, “My grandson got 250 dollars in his Trump account from Susan Dell. Please leave that woman alone. Thank you Susan.”

Michael Dell also shared a post by another X user called Wingfoot, who said, “It’s truly insane how evil and full of themselves people are.

“I signed my kids up and wasn’t expecting to get anything as we live in a wealthy country and city.

“Out of the blue $250 showed up from Dell for both of my boys. I will go out of my way to support them now, who else has”.

Trump’s son Eric also took to X to defend Susan via a post, “People are awful. Susan and Michael Dell just put $6.25 billion into Trump Accounts for 25 million kids so they’ll have something waiting for them when they grow up—one of, if not the largest private donation in American History.

“The response? Vicious attacks on her.

“I’m tired of this nonsense. Very few people have done more for philanthropy. It’s disgusting and it has to stop.

“Susan, on behalf of the overwhelming majority of people in this nation: Thank You!! You are incredible!”

Michael Dell also shared some examples of the fan mail his family had received, which appeared to have been written by children.

One message read: “Dear Dell Family, Thank you for the money in my Trump bank account. I'm very glad to be saving for my future.”

Another wrote: “I'm grateful for the money you added to my Trump account, Thank you for helping me save for my future.”

The couple’s donation has been paid into Trump Accounts, which also receive a $1,000 taxpayer-funded deposit for eligible children.” Capitalise Trump Accounts.

“They’re putting up a lot of money,” said Trump in July, referring to the Dells’ contribution.
