Joy Behar missed Thursday’s episode of “The View” after she suffered a serious on-set injury.
“Joy caught a heel backstage but is on the mend and should be back on the show mid next week,” her rep told Page Six in a statement.
“Her shoulder wasn’t broken and is back in place and she is excited to be back at the table as quickly as possible,” the rep added of Behar, 83.
Sunny Hostin explained the reason for Behar’s absence at the start of Thursday’s show.
“So, Whoopi [Goldberg] is still out filming a movie,” Hostin said of the show’s moderator, adding, “And, unfortunately, our dear friend Joy dislocated her shoulder.”
After the audience gasped, Hostin, 57, continued, “Yeah, so she’s recovering and will be back soon.”
Hostin then joked that producers put her in the moderator seat — usually held by Goldberg, or Behar if the EGOT winner is out — because she’s “the next oldest” host.
“Or, let’s say, seasoned. I like seasoned better!” she joked.
Hostin was joined by her usual co-hosts, Sara Haines, Ana Navarro and Alyssa Farah Griffin, as well as guest host Sherri Shepherd.
“This is a squad right here,” Farah Griffin said about the group. “I like this.”
Behar, who has been part of “The View” since the show began in 1997, save for two seasons, was previously absent from the talk show for two weeks in June to focus on her play, “My First Ex-Husband,’ in London.
“There’s been a lot of media attention on me lately because I’m taking off the next two weeks,” Behar said on the show before her trip to Europe.
“They’re calling it a hiatus. It’s not a hiatus,” the comedian added, clarifying that she was going away to “work.”
On the May 26 episode of the “Behind the Table” podcast, Behar explained she planned to go to Paris first, where she’d playwright “in various cafes” and go to some exhibits, before traveling to London.
Behar’s play, which comically tackles themes like marriage and divorce, previously debuted Off-Broadway in New York in February 2025.
When she returned to the show on June 16, Behar told her co-hosts that her play was hit in the UK, joking, “Turns out women all over the world hate their husbands.”
“Everybody loved it,” she said. “It was a great experience.”
