Netanyahu's Bold Promise at the UN: The Truth About Mamdani

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu slammed Mayor Zohran Mamdani and vowed he’d “tell the truth” about the mayor when he’s in town to address the UN General Assembly later this week.

“Shame on you, Mr. Mamdani. Shame on you for supporting the Hamas terrorist monsters who butchered our people. Shame on you for inciting riots against New York Jews,” Netanyahu said in a fiery video message on X.

Mamdani in July called for New Yorkers to protest Netanyahu’s visit, though he’s now trying to claim he didn’t say it. He’s also backed off his campaign promise to personally arrest the prime minister, admitting he lacks the political power.

“I’m coming to the UN. I’m going to tell the truth about our heroic soldiers and I’m gonna tell the truth about you,” Netanyahu vowed.

Netanyahu’s video message follows Hizzoner’s renewed calls that the Israeli leader should be arrested when he arrives in the Big Apple, accusing him of perpetrating a “genocide” in Gaza.

Following a friendly sit-down with President Trump at Gracie Mansion Monday, Hizzoner told CNN on Monday – during an interview that wasn’t on his daily schedule – that he believes the International Criminal Court (ICC) should intervene.

“When it comes to Benjamin Netanyahu, I have described him as I believe him to be — a war criminal and an architect of a horrific genocide of the Palestinian people,” Mamdani said.

He hit back again when asked about Netanyahu’s video during an unrelated press conference Tuesday.

“We all know that what the prime minister has said in that video is not true,” the mayor told reporters.

“What we do know to actually be the truth when it comes to the prime minister is that he is the subject of an International Criminal Court arrest warrant for alleged war crimes and crimes against humanity,” he reiterated.

“And as the prime minister, he is the architect of a horrific genocide against Palestinians. And just a few days ago, killed an 11-year-old boy in what is deemed to be a safe zone in Gaza.”

Despite his repeated saber-rattling about arresting Netanyahu, including calling on the feds to act on the warrant by the ICC — which the US is not bound by the rules of as a nonsignatory — Mamdani said he didn’t raise the topic when he met with the president in New York.

“The focus of the conversation that I have with the president is New York City and New Yorkers,” he said Tuesday.
