Baby 'Colonel Cody' Born in KFC Car Park Sparks Heartwarming Reactions

A woman has revealed she gave birth to her son in a KFC car park after failing to make it to the hospital on time.
33-year-old Katie Murphy was on her way to the hospital with partner Stephen Kirby, 32, when she felt the urge to push, prompting him to pull over.
The closest car park happened to be the couple's local KFC, located in Bromsgrove, and it wasn't long until Katie gave birth to a baby boy.
Dad Stephen stepped in to deliver baby Cody, born at 9.35pm on August 29, while paramedics made their way to the fast food restaurant.

"When the ambulance dispatcher was trying to locate our location, the only place we could find was the KFC," Katie, a complaints call handler, said.

"As my partner pulled into the car park, and as he made his way round to the passenger side and opened the door, he caught my son just in time.
"Thankfully, the ambulances arrived shortly after and the amazing staff took us to the hospital directly with my shell shocked partner following closely behind in the car," she added.
Katie and Stephen - who are also parents to four-year-old daughter Freya - had been to the hospital earlier in the day as Katie had thought she was going into labour, but they were sent home.
After leaving the hospital at around 4pm, Katie was experiencing contractions but put off returning to the hospital in fear of being turned away.
"Finally at around 9pm she was in so much discomfort that we just said 'let's go' and I got her in the car to get to hospital.
"The drive is around half-an-hour but around half-way through the journey Katie said she could feel something and knew the baby was coming," Stephen, a fridge engineer explained.
Detailing how suddenly things happened, Katie revealed that she could 'feel the baby's head coming out' before Stephen had even parked the car at KFC.
Cody was born 'healthy and thriving', weighing in at 7lbs 8oz, with Katie adding that he is 'doing great'.

He's been awarded the nickname Colonel Cody, in a nod to KFC's founder Colonel Sanders.
"I think that nickname will definitely stick with him for life," mum-of-two Katie laughed.
She revealed that the midwifery staff ordered KFC for dinner to mark Cody's birth and it's already been decided that he'll celebrate his first birthday at the fast food chain.
She added: "It was definitely not the birth I expected, but it was worth every bit of pain, and now he has a very weird story to tell his school friends when he grows up."
Responding to the story, a KFC spokesperson sent well wishes to the family.
"We're honoured to have been the place of Cody's birth and are sending bucket loads of love to the whole family, along with some KFC merch and vouchers to help them celebrate.
"We can't wait to welcome them back for a meal to mark the occasion," the spokesperson said.
