Susie Wiles Triumphs Over Breast Cancer: What She Revealed

White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles announced she is free from breast cancer after being diagnosed six months ago.

“Some personal news I’m grateful to share,” she wrote on X on Wednesday. “After a medical appointment at the Mayo Clinic this week, my pathology results came back clear.

“I am cancer free.”

Wiles, 68, announced the diagnosis in March but has stayed on the job as chief of staff. She traveled with President Trump last week to Dallas for his midterm convention and works regularly out of her West Wing office.

Details of her treatment have not been released. 

She thanked her family, friends, and doctors for their support, adding: “A special thank you to President Trump for his unwavering support. I am deeply grateful and will continue to work to advance his America First Agenda.”

Trump expressed his support for her at the time of her diagnosis, predicting she would beat it, posting: “Her Strength and her Commitment to continue doing the job she loves, and does so well, while undergoing treatment, tells you everything you need to know about her.”

Wiles is widely considered one of the president’s most effective chiefs of staff and has held the title since he took office for his second term.

She worked as a junior staffer in Ronald Reagan’s administration, but made a name for herself in Florida politics, where she worked for prominent GOP office-holders and candidates before chairing Trump’s 2016 state campaign.

She was Trump’s national campaign manager for his against-all-odds comeback in 2024, having gained the job after she impressed the president with how she delivered Florida for him in 2020. She is the daughter of the late football broadcaster Pat Summerall.
