The shooting occurred on Friday, May 8, when police found five individuals with gunshot wounds. The injured were taken to the hospital, where one teenager later died.
The deceased has been identified as Saturah Hayes by Haywood County Schools. Officials confirmed that the shooting took place during a pre-prom event at the park.
