'Hell or High Water' (2016) — Netflix

In "Hell or High Water," Chris Pine stars as Toby Howard, who commits bank heists with his brother, played by Ben Foster, to save their family's ranch. Jeff Bridges plays a Texas Ranger determined to catch them. The film is a modern Western directed by Taylor Sheridan and received an Oscar nomination for Best Picture.

'Ex Machina' (2015) — HBO Max

"Ex Machina" follows Caleb Smith, portrayed by Domhnall Gleeson, a programmer invited to his CEO's estate to test an advanced humanoid robot named Ava, played by Alicia Vikander. Directed by Alex Garland, the film explores artificial intelligence and human empathy. It features Oscar Isaac as Nathan Bateman, the tech CEO behind Ava's creation.

'To Live and Die in L.A.' (1985) — The Criterion Channel

"To Live and Die in L.A." stars William Petersen as Secret Service agent Richard Chance avenging his partner's death by chasing counterfeiter Rick Masters, played by Willem Dafoe. Directed by William Friedkin, the film is known for its car chases and 80s neo-noir style.
