Share Post

A 3-year-old Wisconsin child who went missing overnight was found dead the following morning. The toddler, whose identity has not been revealed, was last seen near a middle school around midnight.

Missing Person Alert

The New London police issued a missing person alert via Facebook on April 13, providing a photo and description of the boy. He was last seen wearing an orange Chicago Bears shirt and a diaper.

The boy reportedly wandered four blocks from his family's home after being checked on around midnight. Authorities were alerted to his disappearance at 5 a.m.

Discovery and Investigation

The child was found in the Wolf River at 7:17 a.m. and was subsequently pronounced dead at ThedaCare-New London. It remains unclear how long he was in the water or how he ended up there.

John Faucher, a local business owner, mentioned seeing police activity near the river after an Amber Alert was issued. He described the cooperative effort among various agencies searching for the boy before dawn.

River Conditions

Faucher noted concerns about flooding due to high water levels exceeding 10 feet in the Wolf River. These conditions are unusual for this time of year, posing risks even to experienced swimmers.

He advised caution near the river, emphasizing the strength of the current and potential dangers without proper safety measures like life jackets.
