Lisa Kudrow Calls Returning to Work 10 Days Post-Birth 'Insane'

Share Post

Lisa Kudrow shared her experience of returning to work just 10 days after giving birth, describing it as "insane." During an interview, the actress reflected on the pressures she faced to resume filming soon after welcoming her son.

Returning to Work Post-Birth

Kudrow recalled the time following the birth of her son Julian Murray Stern. Despite feeling unprepared, those around her encouraged her to go back to work. She shares Julian with her husband, Michel Stern.

During a conversation with CBS's Tracy Smith, Kudrow described how she attended a meeting for the movie "Analyze This" just 10 days postpartum. The film starred Billy Crystal and Robert DeNiro and was set to shoot soon after.

Unexpected Filming Schedule

Initially told that filming would begin in July, Kudrow found out during a meeting that production was starting much sooner. Billy Crystal expressed surprise at Kudrow's quick return and confirmed that filming would start imminently.

Kudrow had to travel to New York earlier than planned due to this expedited schedule. She felt returning to work so quickly was overwhelming but noticed others did not share these feelings.

Family Support

Her in-laws were arriving from France, and her parents were helping with her post-pregnancy period. Kudrow remembered saying it felt wrong to leave her newborn, but others assured her support would be available in New York through a baby nurse.

Looking back, Kudrow stated that she would not make the same decision again. For further details, please refer to the original report by Suushmmita Sen on Momtastic.
