Share Post

Original props from the Harry Potter films, including a Philosopher’s Stone and a Golden Snitch, recently sold for over $89,000 at auction. This collection belonged to a former industry professional and amassed a total of $318,157.

Key Items Sold

The Philosopher’s Stone from the first film in 2001 sold for $19,116, more than doubling its initial estimate. A Golden Snitch from the same film fetched close to its top estimate at $10,427. Wands used by notable characters also achieved significant prices.

Wands and Other Props

A hand-painted Elder Wand featured in The Deathly Hallows: Part 1 earned $7,299, surpassing its guide price. A Voldemort wand from Goblet of Fire and a Harry Potter wand from The Prisoner of Azkaban each sold for around $5,908.

Other wands, such as Severus Snape's black wand with scrollwork handle and a Death Eater skull wand, sold for $4,866 and $2,259 respectively. Both exceeded their estimates.

Auction Success

A Quidditch World Cup program and a two-way mirror shard also attracted strong bids. Andrew Ewbank of Ewbank's Auctioneers noted this was one of their most successful sales due to the original nature of the items on set during filming.
