Share Post

Ron Duguay, a former New York Rangers player, is battling cancer with the support of his family who have started a GoFundMe campaign. The funds aim to assist with his treatment and related expenses.

Family Support

The crowdfunding initiative was launched by his daughters, Shay Thomas and Amber Stavros. They explained that Duguay has been traveling bi-weekly from Florida to Orange County for ongoing cancer treatment.

Duguay, 68, revealed he has been dealing with Stage 4 cancer originating in the colon for a year now. The GoFundMe page emphasizes that he has not asked for financial help on his own due to his independent nature.

Financial Strain

As of publication, nearly $21,000 had been raised towards a $26,000 goal. Duguay's daughters shared that medical costs and travel expenses are significant burdens as their father continues to explore various treatment options.

The treatments have proven effective thus far since moving him closer to where they live in Orange County after challenges with care in Florida.

Ongoing Battle

Duguay's condition shows signs of progression as his cancer levels rise again. His family is considering alternative treatments outside the United States to improve his chances of recovery.

Despite the difficulty of asking for help, Duguay expressed hope to use his experience to assist others going through similar battles. He is committed to combining alternative therapies with traditional medicine.
