Prince William and Kate's Next Move After Andrew's Arrest Shakes Royals

Share Post

Prince William and Princess Kate Middleton stand by King Charles III after Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor's arrest. They support the statement issued by King Charles.

Andrew's Arrest

On February 19, it was reported that Andrew, 66, was arrested on suspicion of misconduct in public office. Thames Valley Police confirmed the arrest of a man in his sixties from Norfolk and mentioned searches in Berkshire and Norfolk.

The suspect's name was not officially released, but it was widely reported as Andrew. He was reportedly arrested at his Sandringham estate. King Charles addressed the situation with deep concern and emphasized a fair investigation.

King Charles' Response

King Charles stated that the legal process must proceed without additional comments from him at this time. The royal family remains committed to their duties.

Buckingham Palace has begun procedures to remove Andrew’s royal titles. He will be known as Andrew Mountbatten Windsor and relocated from Royal Lodge to alternative accommodation.

Previous Allegations

Authorities were reviewing claims that Andrew shared confidential information with Jeffrey Epstein while serving as a U.K. trade envoy and assessed other allegations connected to Epstein. Virginia Giuffre had accused Andrew of sexual misconduct, which he denies.

Giuffre's claims were settled out of court in 2021. Her posthumous memoir Nobody’s Girl, published in October 2025, detailed her alleged encounters with Andrew and Epstein.
