Share Post

Actor Shia LaBeouf reportedly used homophobic slurs before being arrested in New Orleans during the Mardi Gras holiday. The incident involved a confrontation with bar employees and resulted in his arrest on charges of misdemeanor battery.

Allegations of Verbal Abuse

Jeffrey Damnit and Nathan Thomas Reed allege that Shia LaBeouf used homophobic language during an altercation at a bar on February 17. Damnit claimed that LaBeouf attempted physical assault while shouting slurs.

The Guardian reported Damnit's account, which included video evidence of LaBeouf's arrest where he continued to use offensive language from inside a police vehicle. Reed emphasized the nature of the abusive language used by LaBeouf.

Confrontation at the Bar

Authorities described how events escalated when LaBeouf caused a disturbance at R Bar in New Orleans. Damnit recounted seeing an intoxicated LaBeouf provoking interactions with bar staff before becoming physically aggressive.

Court documents state that LaBeouf attempted to assault a manager while being escorted out and subsequently hit both Damnit and Reed.

Legal Action and Release

After allegedly making threats, witnesses intervened, and police took LaBeouf to a hospital before charging him with misdemeanor battery. He was released later, seen on Bourbon Street following his release.
