RFK Jr. Admits to Snorting Cocaine Off Toilet Seats Before Getting Sober
During a podcast episode on Wednesday, February 12, Robert F. Kennedy Jr., 72, revealed his past drug use, mentioning he used to "snort cocaine off toilet seats." He emphasized the importance of attending addiction support group meetings even during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Kennedy, clarifying he has been in recovery for 43 years, disclosed that he first met the podcast host, Theo Von, at the same addiction support group. This is not the first time Kennedy has made bold claims about his drug use, as he previously mentioned how heroin allegedly improved his academic performance in the 1970s.
At the Rx and Illicit Drug Summit in May 2025, Kennedy shared his history of battling addiction for 14 years before entering a recovery program in 1983. He recalled early experiences with drugs, including taking LSD at age 15, leading to intense hallucinations and subsequent remorse.
Regarding his role in the administration's addiction policy as Secretary of Health and Human Services, Kennedy has faced criticism for his approach to public health, obesity, and vaccine regulations. He has also received feedback on his dietary recommendations, contrasting them with President Donald Trump's reported eating habits.
In a separate incident, journalist Olivia Nuzzi was questioned about her alleged affair with Robert F. Kennedy Jr. during a podcast episode in December. Kennedy's influence on addiction policy and his views on nutrition have sparked discussions and criticisms within the public health and dietary communities.
