Share Post

Police in Indiana arrested Travis Fate, 40, on February 1 in Montpelier for an attempted kidnapping of his 19-year-old neighbor. Fate allegedly entered the woman's apartment wearing a headlamp and brandished pliers, claiming he wanted to "save her life."

Fate confessed to police that he had no specific plan but felt compelled to protect the woman. The victim called the police after locking herself in her bedroom when Fate entered her home. She initially thought he might be a law enforcement officer due to her probation status.

Authorities found Fate nearby still wearing the headlamp. He was charged with armed kidnapping, burglary, residential entry, and theft. His trial is scheduled for May 19, facing a possible prison sentence and fine if convicted.
