John Mellencamp, father of Teddi Mellencamp, is revealed to have grounded his daughter in front of Madonna and Sean Penn at their house.

Teddi, known from The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, shared the incident in an interview where she mentioned an awkward moment with her father in front of the famous couple.

Grounded in Front of Celebrities

During a stay at their home, Teddi was instructed by her father to return after three hours, but she returned six hours later, upsetting him.

John Mellencamp then took her to dinner, asking her to wash her hands and sit down, publicly announcing that he was taking away her birthday.

Madonna and Sean Penn were married from 1985 to 1989, divorcing after a withdrawn assault complaint at their Malibu home by Madonna.

Support During Cancer Diagnosis

Teddi also discussed her father's consistent support following her stage IV melanoma diagnosis in April 2025.

John Mellencamp has been calling her every day during her hospital stay, providing uplifting encouragement and reminding her that she is a fighter.

Despite being cancer-free after scans in November 2025, Teddi continues immunotherapy treatments for the stage 4 cancer that has spread.
