Rick Davis / SplashNews.comKelly Clarkson is entering her post-talk show era. And, in celebration of her next chapter, she’s chopped off all of her hair.Clarkson debuted her chin-length bob on Monday, her shortest haircut in months.Beginning her day on “Today” and ending it on “Late Night with Seth Meyers,” Clarkson has hit the ground running as “The Voice” returns.Clarkson chose a trench coat dress and booties for her morning appearance and a long-sleeved black minidress and heels for late night, both styled with sheer black tights. The singer first appeared on “The Today Show” on Monday morning with her new ‘do. TODAYShe later hit “Late Night with Seth Meyers,” chatting about her transition from her talk show to “The Voice.” Paula Lobo/NBC via Getty ImagesThough Clarkson has had short hair in the past, she’s more often than not seen with a longer style.Clarkson was on “Late Night” to promote Season 30 of “The Voice,” which premiered on Monday night, with the host immediately noticing her new look.“No extensions!” said Meyers.Upon sitting in the chair, Clarkson replied, “I chopped my hair off recently,” adding, “I like it short.”“I just took my extensions off on national television,” she reminded the audience, adding, “I will really do anything for a joke.”It was a stunt that was only just aired hours before, when Clarkson unclipped a hair extension on “The Voice” premiere and offered it to contestant Hazel Gerson, 21, in order to win her over.Gerson told Clarkson that her “long hair looks really beautiful,” to which the on-air coach replied, “Thank you! I’ll give it to you. It’s clip-in,” adding, “you can have it!”Continuing, “I will share. Don’t you want a coach that will share with you?” Clarkson concluded her 7-season talk show on August 31.

New

Rooney and Kate Mara's On-Screen Threesome with Orlando Bloom: What Really Happened? New

Rooney and Kate Mara's On-Screen Threesome with Orlando Bloom: What Really Happened?

Published 11:40 22 Sep 2026 GMT+1Rooney and Kate Mara opened up about their appearance in Werner Herzog's latest projectTwo real-life sisters who appeared in a film by Werner Herzog have opened up about how the experience changed their working dynamic.Rooney and Kate Mara co-star in Bucking Fastard, directed by Werner Herzog, of Nosferatu the Vampyre. The film includes a controversial scene in which the two sisters appeared in a threesome sex scene alongside co-star Orlando Bloom. Its plot is centred on two sisters who 'speak in unison, love the same man, and have the same dreams', according to a synopsis of the film, and required them to be extremely in sync throughout the film's production.AdvertNow, the two sisters have spoken about the challenges that they faced on set with the movie, including having to speak in sync, which they said turned out to be 'surprisingly' easy.Speaking to Variety at a press conference of Venice Film Festival, Rooney said: “At first, it was very daunting, the idea that we were going to be playing this kind of same person." She added: “But I think we found pretty quickly that having a lifetime together and all this history and a childhood of playing together. Orlando Bloom with director Werner Herzog (Carlos Alvarez/Getty Images)"There was just an unspoken world between us that we didn’t have to work very hard to create at all. I’ve never laughed so much, it was a very once in a lifetime, unique experience.”Kate went on to say that it had been a fascinating experience, describing speaking at the same time as having felt 'almost like a song'.“We had this unspoken sort of rhythm together. It was very musical," she said. "It sort of happened quite naturally. Surprisingly, it came with a lot more ease than we were expecting.”The movie is inspired by the real life story of Freda and Greta Chaplin, two identical twins from the UK who made waves in the tabloids after they became obsessed with their neighbour.Eventually, the neighbour took out a restraining order against the pair, with the title inspired by a remark that the twins made, supposedly at the same time, while appearing in court.Herzog has also opened up about the film's production, including that scene, saying that 'there are moments when a director has to step back'.Rooney Mara and Kate Mara (Rodin Eckenroth/Getty Images)"In the love scene, I said to Orlando: ‘You are in bed, and you have two women in your arms. How you deal with it, I cannot give instructions.’ It is beautiful because it has such charm and depth," the director said.Herzog had previously said that he had wanted to make Bucking Fastard for several years, but had never found the right cast, including the crucial actors to play the twins. He said that it only became 'clear it could be done' when he met Rooney and Kate Mara, even saying that they 'hardly needed any rehearsals' for the simultaneous speaking scenes, needing just five days of the two weeks that was set aside for them to practice it.Bucking Fastard premiered on 3 September, and has a rating of 6.7/10 on IMDb, and 75 percent on Rotten Tomatoes.Featured Image Credit: Stefania D'Alessandro/WireImageTopics: Orlando Bloom, Celebrity, Film

Christina Applegate was spotted for the first time since her lengthy hospital stay.In a brief video clip, the actress, 54, showed off her long, blown out hair after having it colored in her signature light blond shade and styled straight. She wore a black unzipped hoodie over a black tank top with jeans, and accessorized with layered necklaces while smiling for the camera. “Fresh hair color, new weird spot on my cheek haha,” she captioned the upload on Monday, acknowledging a small spot on her skin. “Thank you @davestanwell for brightening up my cloudy day. Love you and love to you all out there.”Christina Applegate showed off her new hair color following a four-month hospital stay, as seen above. Christina Applegate/InstagramThe actress shared a clip in what appeared to be a salon. Christina Applegate/InstagramFans took to the comments thread to gush over the actress amid the appearance, with one person writing, “You’re looking as beautiful as ever. 🙂” Another wrote, “You look exactly the same as when you were on ‘Married With Children.’ Amazing!” A third person chimed in, “You are truly powerful,” while a fourth added, “Gorgeous inside and out.” The sighting comes over a month after the actress — who’s been battling multiple sclerosis since 2021 — was discharged from the hospital after a stay that began back in March. An insider told TMZ early in August that the “Dead to Me” actress was back at home and doing well following the extended stay. It’s unclear exactly why Applegate had been admitted, though her rep told Page Six at the time,  “She’s had a long history of complicated medical conditions that she has been refreshingly open about.”“Fresh hair color, new weird spot on my cheek haha,” she captioned the upload on Monday. Christina Applegate/InstagramIt’s the first sighting of the actress since her lengthy stay at a hospital. Christina Applegate/InstagramIn April, without divulging details, the actress addressed the situation with fans. “Thank you for the outpouring of love and well wishes,” she wrote. “Health issues are a constant for me, but I’m a strong chick and I’m getting stronger and better every day.” She concluded, “I’m taking a moment to focus on my health, but I’ll be back with more to say soon enough.”Meanwhile, an insider who worked with Applegate on “Married … With Children” told the Daily Mail that co-stars including Katey Sagal and Ed O’Neill — along with Will Ferrell, Jean Smart, and Linda Cardellini — were “anguished” amid her hospital stay and had reached out in support. “They don’t think this is it for her, she’s not dying right now,” the insider claimed. “But they wanted to make sure that nothing was left unsaid.” They added, “They told each other that they love each other. The “Married … With Children” actress, seen above in a previous Instagram upload, was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 2021. christinaapplegate/InstagramThe actress was also hospitalized with a kidney infection, she revealed in August 2025. She’s pictured above in a January social media photo. christinaapplegate/InstagramIn June, her sitcom co-star David Faustino gave insight on her journey during an interview with Us Weekly. “She gets through this with some humor, and that’s kind of her way that she moves through it,” he told the outlet. “I do a lot of visits with her. A lot of texting, a lot of checking in.”The hospitalization was the latest medical challenge the “Bad Moms” star has faced in recent years. In August 2025, she shared with “MeSsy” podcast listeners that a kidney infection had left her “screaming” and in the hospital with “so much pain.” In a February interview with People, the “Don’t Tell Mom the Babysitter’s Dead” star revealed she was generally confined to bed and still trying to take her 15-year-old daughter, Sadie LeNoble, to school, saying it’s her “favorite thing to do.” “I tell myself, ‘Just get her there safely and get home so you can get back into bed.’ And that’s what I do,” she shared with the outlet. Protest in The Hague Erupts into Violent Clashes with Police

Natalie Harp's Role in Trump’s White House Press Ban Raises Eyebrows New

Natalie Harp's Role in Trump’s White House Press Ban Raises Eyebrows

CNN's Kaitlan Collins reported Monday that Natalie Harp, a close aide to President Donald Trump, showed him media coverage that ultimately led to the decision by the White House to deny CNN, MSNBC and Politico access. The September 2026 ban is the latest in a series of disputes involving Trump and news organizations. The organizations argue that the government cannot determine which journalists receive access based on whether officials approve of their reporting. The administration, meanwhile, maintains that the White House has authority to control access to its facilities and has characterized the targeted coverage as false or inappropriate.According to Collins, who cited unnamed sources in a report for CNN, a Politico graphic and television clips shown to Trump by Harp "infuriated" the president.CNN also reported that Trump's key advisers, including chief of staff Susie Wiles and Vice President JD Vance, were not in the White House when Trump came to his decision Friday.Harp has been a constant presence by Trump’s side for years. Her relationship with the president has come under the spotlight after Democratic Senator Jon Ossoff, who is in the middle of a reelection campaign, mentioned her by name in a speech criticizing the president. The three news outlets that Trump banned from the White House last week are now filing a First Amendment lawsuit in a bid to restore their access....In a joint statement, the outlet said the lawsuit was “to protect our First Amendment rights and defend the principle that the government does not decide what the press reports or publishes.”“Without notice or process, the White House revoked our journalists’ credentials because it objected to our reporting,” the statement continued. “Left unchallenged, this threatens press freedom and the public’s right to independent journalism free from government interference.”In a post on Truth Social on Monday morning, after the lawsuit was confirmed, Trump wrote, "The White House is not instituting an assault on the Free Press, something which I cherish. It is instituting an assault on the FAKE NEWS, something that has grown like Cancer in our beloved United States of America. It is corrupt, purposeful, pervasive, fully coordinated, and totally out of control. It is a threat to our National Security, and must be stopped, NOW!"Judge Timothy J. Kelly, a Trump appointee, has ordered the government to respond to the complaint by Tuesday, with a hearing set for 3.30 p.m. ET on Wednesday.By Monday afternoon, Trump had shared a second post, criticizing the judge who previously ruled in CNN's Jim Acosta's favor during a previous ban. He also vowed to go to appeal "because Fake News people and publications that only write negatively, and who violate our National Security by writing false and defamatory stories with unknown 'sources,' shouldn’t be allowed access to the most important Office anywhere in the World."Bryan Boughton, who runs the Fox News Washington bureau and is the current TV pool chair covering the White House, said Monday in an email, ”This is to advise that, effective today, the TV pool will not be covering events designated as pool coverage of the President.”He continued, “This follows the White House’s position preventing CNN from fulfilling its assigned pool duties. There will be no replacement pool put in place.”Vance defended the decision, saying the affected organizations would no longer have offices inside the White House unless they began behaving, in his characterization, “like real news organizations.”The White House told Newsweek, “The Fake News has no place demanding a spot in the President’s Oval Office. The lies they smear are a disservice to the American public and tear at the very fabric of our Democracy. They’re completely capable of reporting from directly outside.”It also directed Newsweek to comments made by Trump at the Oval Office on Friday, when asked for comment about the ban.Trump had been asked by reporters what the reason was behind the ban. The president responded that there was no specific story he was reacting to, but said, "It’s really just cumulative stories over the last two years. You get sick of it."However, the scope of the ban is already coming into question after the Office of the First Lady approved CNN reporter Betsy Klein to cover an event with Melania Trump at the U.N. General Assembly on Tuesday, CNN confirmed to Newsweek.Republican Tells Trump: 'You Should Never Ban the Press'Republican reaction to the White House press restrictions has not been uniform. While Vance and other Trump allies have defended the administration's decision, some Republicans have criticized the move and argued that unfavorable coverage is not a legitimate reason to restrict journalists' access. One Republican lawmaker put the issue bluntly, arguing that the White House should not use disagreements over coverage as a basis for excluding news organizations.“Just because you don’t like what the press is reporting — or the fact that they wouldn’t call it the Gulf of America or something else like that — that’s not the reason to ban the press,” Idaho Rep. Mike Simpson, a senior Appropriations Committee Republican, said Monday. “You should never ban the press. The press is what keeps us honest. So I don’t like what they’re doing.”Meanwhile, Fox News criticized the move in the joint statement with other networks, stating that, "No administration should restrict a news organization because it objects to its reporting.”Democrat leaders and press freedom groups also condemned the move. Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer said that Trump had done what “dictators throughout history have done” and argued that the president should not be able to manipulate news coverage or hide information from the public.Seth Stern of the Freedom of the Press Foundation called the ban a “blatant violation of the First Amendment,” while Jameel Jaffer of the Knight First Amendment Institute pointed to previous court rulings involving Trump's restrictions on journalists and other institutions.Zohran Mamdani Told Trump All Press Welcome After NYC MeetingTrump and New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani addressed reporters at Gracie Mansion on Monday after meeting ahead of the U.N. General Assembly, where they discussed issues including housing affordability and the potential redevelopment of Sunnyside Yards. The issue of media access emerged when a reporter asked Mamdani whether he had challenged Trump over the White House's decision to bar MS NOW, CNN and Politico from White House grounds. Mamdani said he told Trump that "we're going to have all of the members of the press here on the lawn," adding that he believes "everyone, no matter of the opinion or the critique," should be engaged.Trump defended the move, saying, "I think I have an obligation not to let fake news" into the White House, which he called "the most special of all houses."The AP BanThe current fight over CNN, MS NOW and Politico follows an earlier legal battle between the Trump administration and The Associated Press that tested how far the White House can go in restricting journalists whose coverage it dislikes. The AP sued in February 2025 after the White House sharply curtailed the news organization's access to presidential events. The dispute followed Trump's decision to rename the Gulf of Mexico the “Gulf of America.” The AP continued using “Gulf of Mexico” in its news coverage, while noting Trump's preferred name, and the White House subsequently excluded AP journalists from events in restricted spaces including the Oval Office and Air Force One.The AP did not argue that journalists have an automatic constitutional right to enter the Oval Office or travel with the president. Instead, it said that once the government opens those limited spaces to some journalists, it cannot exclude one news organization because officials object to its viewpoint. In April 2025, U.S. District Judge Trevor McFadden agreed at the preliminary-injunction stage. He ordered the administration to restore the AP's eligibility for the presidential press pool and other limited-access events, finding that the AP was likely to succeed on its claims that it had been subjected to viewpoint discrimination and retaliation for its speech. The judge specifically said the ruling did not give the AP an unlimited right to access restricted presidential spaces; rather, the government could not treat the AP differently from comparable journalists because of its viewpoint. However, the Trump administration appealed, and in June 2025, a divided panel of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit stayed the lower court's injunction, allowing the White House to continue controlling AP access while the broader legal fight proceededFollowing the appellate ruling, the AP asked the full bench of the D.C. Circuit to review the panel's decision en banc, but the court declined to rehear the case. The administration can point to the appellate court's intervention as evidence that presidential control over limited-access events remains a legally unsettled area. The news organizations, meanwhile, can point to Judge McFadden's reasoning that the First Amendment prohibits the government from opening a forum to journalists and then excluding a particular outlet because of its viewpoint. The Jim Acosta CaseThe most prominent precedent from Trump's first administration involved CNN correspondent Jim Acosta. In November 2018, the White House suspended Acosta's hard pass following a contentious presidential news conference. The administration accused him of inappropriate conduct involving a White House intern who attempted to retrieve a microphone from him. CNN disputed the administration's account and sued.A federal judge ordered the White House to restore Acosta's access. The administration subsequently restored his credentials and dropped its effort to permanently revoke them. The case became a major test of presidential control over press credentials. It also demonstrated that courts could intervene when the White House attempted to remove a reporter's access without providing sufficient procedural protections.Fox News also filed a brief supporting CNN's legal position in the Acosta dispute, emphasizing the broader implications for White House press access.Kaitlan Collins Was Also Barred From a White House EventCollins has also previously been involved in a White House access dispute. In July 2018, while serving as a CNN White House correspondent, Collins was denied access to a White House event after a tense Oval Office exchange in which she repeatedly questioned Trump about Michael Cohen and Vladimir Putin. The White House said Collins had shouted questions and refused to leave. CNN characterized the decision as retaliation for her questioning. The incident generated criticism from press organizations and other news organizations and became another example of the increasingly contentious relationship between Trump and the White House press corps.Brian Karem and Another Credential FightAnother Trump-era case involved Brian Karem, a White House reporter for Playboy and a CNN political analyst.Karem's White House credential was suspended in 2019 after a confrontation at a White House event involving former Trump aide Sebastian Gorka. Karem challenged the suspension in federal court.A judge ordered his credential restored, finding that the administration's rules governing reporter conduct were not sufficiently clear to justify the suspension under the circumstances. The Wall Street Journal and the Scotland TripTrump's second term produced another significant press-access dispute in 2025 when The Wall Street Journal was removed from the press pool covering Trump's trip to Scotland. The action followed the Journal's publication of a report concerning an alleged birthday letter involving Trump and Jeffrey Epstein. Trump denied the report and subsequently sued the newspaper and other parties. The White House said the Journal's removal was connected to what it described as “fake and defamatory conduct.”The Structure of The Presidential Press PoolThe current dispute has consequences beyond the three organizations directly targeted.CNN is one of the five major television networks that participate in the traditional presidential television pool, alongside ABC, CBS, Fox News and NBC. The networks rotate responsibility for providing camera crews and distribute the resulting footage among participating organizations.CNN was scheduled to perform the pool assignment for Trump's Monday travel. After the White House prevented CNN from carrying out the assignment, the other networks did not replace it. Instead, the pool suspended coverage of designated presidential pool events. That means the dispute has moved beyond whether individual reporters can enter the White House. It is now affecting the infrastructure through which television networks collectively cover the president. Is The White House Launching 'Trump TV'?The White House launched an app Monday that allows users to get "real-time updates and live events streamed DIRECTLY to your phone... straight from the Trump administration."The move comes as major TV networks chose to stand by CNN and MSNBC by declining to replace their White House pool crew after the Trump administration banned the networks.“The public has a vital interest in receiving accurate, independent information about its government. No administration should restrict a news organization because it objects to its reporting,” ABC, CBS, CNN, Fox News and NBC said in a joint statement.Following the statement by the TV networks, the White House teased its own announcement, featuring apparently AI footage of an ancient television set which briefly flashed Trump on the screen."Is the White House going to announce 'Trump TV' as major US broadcasters pull the plug on live presidential coverage?" Daily Mail White House correspondent Jon Michael Raasch asked on X.The White House later rolled out its app, which it said would offer, "No noise. Just the news that matters most—straight from the Trump Administration."Who Is Natalie Harp?Natalie Harp is a close Trump aide who serves as a special assistant and executive assistant to the president. She has become one of the most visible members of Trump's inner circle, frequently accompanying him and helping manage the flow of information and social media content that reaches the president.Harp is perhaps best known for her role as Trump's so-called “human printer.” She has routinely provided him with printed copies of news articles, social media posts and other material, reflecting Trump's preference for reading information on paper, CBS News reported previously. She also plays a role in Trump's Truth Social operation: Trump frequently dictates posts to her, and she helps draft and publish content on his account. That proximity has made Harp an important conduit between Trump and the media coverage he consumes. CNN reported Monday that she showed Trump media coverage shortly before the White House moved to bar CNN, MS NOW and Politico. The reporting does not establish that Harp ordered the ban or made the decision herself, but places her among the aides who brought the coverage to Trump's attention....Harp has also been at Trump's side during moments that have highlighted the unusual level of trust he places in her. In July, during a visit to Turkey, she was among a small group of aides who secretly accompanied Trump when he transferred from Air Force One to a smaller military aircraft amid concerns about a potential Iranian threat. The transfer was concealed from most of the people aboard the original aircraft, including some senior officials and journalists. The episode brought renewed attention to Harp's proximity to the president. Her role in Trump's social media operation and her access to the information he sees have also made her an increasingly prominent figure inside the White House, despite her relatively low public profile before joining Trump's staff. Her reported involvement in the events preceding the latest media restrictions has now put that proximity under a new spotlight.Newsweek’s reporters and editors used Martyn, our AI assistant, to produce this story.
