Editor : A.C.

Bachelor in Paradise’s Jess and Spencer End Engagement Amid Speculation

Bachelor in Paradise alums Jess Edwards and Spencer Conley are going their separate years after nearly two years of dating and a brief engagement. “After a lot of honest conversations and reflection, we’ve made the difficult decision to end our engagement and go our separate ways,” the pair wrote in a joint statement shared via their respective Instagram Stories on Tuesday, September 8. “There wasn’t one moment that brought us here.” The statement continued, “The past year and a half gave us so many memories and experiences that we’ll always cherish, and while this isn’t the ending we imagined, we’ll always have so much love and respect for each other and for what we shared.” The exes added that they are “moving forward with grateful hearts” and are “genuinely wanting nothing but happiness for one another.” “Thank you to everyone who believed in us and rooted for our love. Spencer proposed to Jess in Costa Rica during the finale. News of their breakup comes nearly one month after Jess denied split rumors during an appearance on the “Bachelor Happy Hour” podcast. While speaking with former Bachelorettes Rachel Recchia and Charity Lawson, Jess shut down fan speculation that she and Spencer were breaking up after the pair were posting about each other online. “I have a really bad problem at seeing stuff and getting immediately infuriated. It really does and this is probably exactly what they want to hear too, but I will see it and I’m like I’m so mad, we need to post together,” she recalled. “I’m like, you know what? It literally does not matter what they think. I know nine times out of 10 it’s because they care and they’re invested in us.” Jess also shared that sometimes trolls will find their way into her comments section. “And then it's the people who want to start drama. I’ll have people literally comment on videos where you can clearly see my ring in every clip. And they’re like, ‘She’s not been wearing her ring recently’ And I’m like girl, yes I have,” she quipped. Spencer later addressed his and Jess’ relationship status, stating the pair were keeping things private and off social media. “Hahaha I’m alive and well Been burnt out on social media and kinda ran out of content that was fun to make lol,” he wrote via Instagram in August.

Ana Navarro Reveals the Truth Behind Her Dramatic Weight Loss New

Ana Navarro Reveals the Truth Behind Her Dramatic Weight Loss

Ana Navarro admitted she’s taking Mounjaro, which she credited for her drastic weight loss over the past few years.“The View” host, 54, made the weight-loss drug admission on Tuesday’s episode of the talk show, while watching an old clip of herself dancing with Spanish singer and actress Charo.“Those were all pre-Mounjaro,” she said. “We’ve lost the equivalent of a baby hippo on that stage.”Ana Navarro acknowledged she takes Mounjaro on Tuesday’s episode of “The View.” YouTube/The ViewThe host made the confession while watching an old clip of herself with Spanish singer and actress Charo, noting, “Those were all pre-Mounjaro. We’ve lost the equivalent of a baby hippo on that stage.” YouTube/The ViewBack in June 2023, Navarro’s social media followers were convinced she’d been taking another weight-loss drug, Ozempic, after she posted a pic of herself on Instagram looking noticeably slimmer. The political commenter replied to the speculation over her supposed usage of the GLP-1, crediting her slimmer figure to going to a wellness spa in Mexico with her girlfriends and changing her lifestyle.“I spent time there learning to cook and eat healthier, reprogramming the way I think of my lifestyle, and being more active,” she said at the time, per People. “We did all sorts of exercise classes for hours a day. When we came back to Miami, we were determined to continue some of our healthy habits.” Navarro also said she was working with a nutritionist and a medical supervisor after learning she was pre-diabetic.The political commentator (pictured here in July) previously denied taking Ozempic in 2023. Instagram/Ana NavarroNavarro (pictured here in July) credited her weight loss to eating healthier and exercising more. Bruce Glikas/WireImage“So it’s been a complete lifestyle change – except for the damn rosé and margaritas, which I can’t give up,” she shared.“I am not equipped to give anyone advice or endorse any solution,” she added. “We all have to figure out what works for each of us. It is a daily struggle for me. I still really like tequila and staying in bed with my poodle…🤷🏻‍♀️.”Navarro isn’t the only “The View” host on Mounjaro. In March 2024, both Whoopi Goldberg and Sunny Hostin shared on-air that they took the medication.Goldberg, 70, said she decided to take it after her weight went up to almost 300 pounds after filming the 2022 movie “Till.”Navarro (pictured here in May 2018) said she underwent a lifestyle change after visiting a spa in Mexico. Getty ImagesNavarro (pictured here in April 2025) said her weight has been a lifetime struggle for her. GC Images“I had taken all those steroids, I was on all this stuff, and one of the things that’s helped me drop the weight is the Mounjaro –– that’s what I use,” Goldberg said on “The View.”Hostin, 57, then chimed in and noted that she used Mounjaro after gaining 40 pounds during COVID.The lawyer recalled getting “nasty emails” after her transformation telling her that she’s “too skinny” and “taking the drug away from diabetics,” but she had greater “shame” before doing so.“There is shame when you’ve gained weight, and I have never experienced that kinda shame before,” she said. Why Half of Americans Are Paying More for Gated Community Living New

Why Half of Americans Are Paying More for Gated Community Living

Forget granite countertops. The hottest home upgrade in America right now might be a locked gate at the end of the driveway.A new study finds that half of US adults would pay above market price for a house in a neighborhood with a gated or controlled entrance, and nearly a third say they’d shell out at least 6% more for the privilege. The numbers come from a survey of 1,000 American adults conducted by Tri-State Gate, a Westchester County company that installs automated driveway gates. A new survey of 1,000 US adults from Tri-State Gate finds that half of Americans would pay above market price for a home in a gated or controlled-entrance neighborhood. rodphotography – stock.adobe.comReal estate data backs up at least part of the trend. Homes in gated communities already carry a roughly $30,000 premium over comparable ungated properties, according to prior research from the American Real Estate Society. What makes the survey notable isn’t just the price tag buyers are willing to eat. It’s the disconnect between how dangerous people think their neighborhood is and how safe they actually feel inside it. Sixty nine percent of respondents said crime where they live hasn’t gotten any worse. Yet 72% admitted they don’t feel fully at ease at home. Only 28% picked the option “very safe, I feel genuinely protected,” while the majority landed on a more hedged answer, “mostly safe, but I stay alert.”“What stands out to me in this data is that people aren’t necessarily reacting to crime. Most of them said crime in their neighborhood hasn’t changed. What they’re responding to is a lack of control,” Matthew Prato, president of Tri-State Gate, told The Post.“A gate doesn’t change what’s happening in the neighborhood; it changes who can pull into your driveway without you knowing. For a lot of homeowners, that’s the difference between thinking about their home when they’re away and not thinking about it at all.” 32% are willing to pay at least 6% more for a comparable home in a gated community. Kent – stock.adobe.comThe study also reveals a broader unease around home security: 72% of respondents don’t feel fully at ease at home, even though 69% say crime risk in their neighborhood hasn’t changed. ricardoreitmeyer – stock.adobe.comThat unease is showing up in behavior, not just survey answers.Sixty nine percent of respondents now own a security camera or video doorbell, and checking the footage has become something close to a nervous habit. A third of camera owners say they check their feed multiple times a day, and when you add in people who check daily or whenever an alert goes off, more than eight in 10 camera owners are monitoring their homes constantly.Despite all that vigilance, most Americans are strangely passive when it comes to acting on it. Fifty six percent said it would take an actual break-in or a visible pattern of crime nearby before they seriously invested in physical security upgrades, rather than doing it preemptively. That’s a striking number given that break-ins remain rare. Security tech has become a fixture of daily life, with 69% owning a security camera or video doorbell and a third checking it multiple times a day. reshoot – stock.adobe.comMost people are reactive rather than proactive, as 56% say it would take an actual break-in or a visible crime pattern before they’d seriously invest in physical security. Kirk Fisher – stock.adobe.comJust 8% of households reported experiencing one or an attempted one in the past two years. Package theft is a far more common headache, with 23% of respondents saying a delivery has been swiped off their doorstep. The takeaway is less about actual danger and more about the psychology of feeling watched, or unwatched. Crime rates nationally have been trending down for years, and separate polling from Gallup has found only a small share of Americans call crime in their area a serious problem. But that data hasn’t translated into peace of mind. If anything, the rise of doorbell cameras and 24/7 footage may be feeding the anxiety it was supposed to cure, turning homeowners into round-the-clock monitors of their own front steps.
