Ekrem İmamoğlu'nun Casusluk Davasında Ara Karar Şaşkınlık Yarattı New

Tic. FIFA's Decision Stirs Controversy Ahead of US vs. Belgium Showdown New

FIFA's Decision Stirs Controversy Ahead of US vs. Belgium Showdown

July 06, 2026, 9:07 AMThe U.S. men's national team is set to face Belgium on Monday night in the World Cup round of 16 with star striker Folarin Balogun eligible to play after his one-game suspension was put on hold by FIFA.Balogun was given a red card during the July 1 game against Bosnia-Herzegovina after the U.S. player clashed with an opposing player's foot in the second half. The penalty automatically landed Balogun a one-game suspension. FIFA told ABC News at the time that the call was final and not able to be overturned or appealed.FIFA said on Sunday that "the implementation of the match suspension is suspended for a probationary period of one year."United States' Folarin Balogun (20) kicks during the World Cup round of 32 soccer match between the United States and Bosnia in Santa Clara, Calif., near San Francisco, on July 1, 2026.Martin Meissner/AP PhotoThe football governing body added that if Balogun "commits another infringement of a similar nature and gravity during the probationary period, the suspension shall be revoked and the sanction enforced without prejudice to any additional sanction imposed for the new infringement."The Royal Belgium Football Association (RBFA) released a statement Sunday that said in part that it was "astonished" by FIFA's decision to allow Balogun to play in Monday's match against them."In order to safeguard the legitimate rights of all participating teams and to protect the fundamental principles of fair play in our sport, both at this FIFA World Cup and at future editions of the tournament, the RBFA is investigating all potential options," the RBFA statement further said.European soccer's governing body, UEFA, said in a statement on Monday that a red card suspension is "a principle embedded in regulations, which cannot be made subject to exceptions, let alone in the middle of a tournament where several other players have been in the same situation and regularly served their suspension.""We express our disbelief at such an unprecedented, incomprehensible and unjustifiable decision," UEFA said.USMNT head coach Mauricio Pochettino told reporters after last week's match, which the U.S. won 2-0, that Balogun was "sad" and "disappointed" about the call and that the clash was not intentional, according to ESPN.The USMNT's victory was their first in the World Cup round of 32 since 2002 and only their second knockout round victory in program history. The American men's best result at the World Cup was a third-place finish at the inaugural tournament all the way in 1930.United States' Malik Tillman (17) celebrates with teammates after scoring on a free kick during the World Cup round of 32 soccer match between the United States and Bosnia in Santa Clara, Calif., near San Francisco, on July 1, 2026.Martin Meissner/AP PhotoThe U.S. team has been impressive in the 2026 tournament so far, finishing the group stage with a 2-1 record, with wins over Paraguay and Australia before a loss to Turkey, which occurred once the team had already secured a spot in the next round.Belgium, meanwhile, finished at the top of their group with one win and two draws and advanced from the round of 32 with a 3-2 win over Senegal. The U.S. and Belgium are set to face off Monday at 8 p.m. ET from Seattle Stadium.ABC News' Kelly McCarthy and Joe Simonetti contributed to this report.

Why LVV's Decision on the Presidency Is Stirring Reactions New

Why LVV's Decision on the Presidency Is Stirring Reactions

/REL

Taylor Frankie Paul Faces New Legal Drama as Ex-Husband Takes Action New

Taylor Frankie Paul Faces New Legal Drama as Ex-Husband Takes Action

Taylor Frankie Paul's ex-husband, Tate Paul, has filed a restraining order against the Secret Lives of Mormon Wives star. According to documents viewed by Us Weekly, Tate, 32, filed a motion for a temporary restraining order in a Utah court on Tuesday, June 30. A hearing has been requested. The exes, who were married from 2016 to 2022, share two kids together: daughter Indy, 8, and son Ocean, 6. Per People, the order was filed against Taylor, 32.  Tate also filed a petition to modify the terms of their divorce and custody agreement. Additionally, TMZ reported that Tate is requesting sole custody of both children. Us has reached out to Tate and Taylor’s reps for comment. Years before The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives premiered on Hulu, MomTok became a TikTok craze in 2020. The interest intensified when Taylor, 31, revealed in 2022 that she indulged in “soft swinging” with other people’s partners — and she was subsequently going through a divorce from Tate. At the time, Taylor, who shares two kids with Tate, reflected on addressing her past marriage on screen, exclusively telling Us, "I don't know how [Tate] feels. It was a lot less bad than he thought. He saw the trailer and he and his fiancée were worried. Obviously that's really triggering to hear that, especially for her." She continued: "I can't imagine wanting to hear that with someone else. So I think they struggled, but when they watched it. I guess it wasn't as bad as they thought." Most of Taylor's arc on the show, however, has centered around her romance with ex Dakota Mortensen. The pair have been involved in an ongoing custody battle over their 2-year-old son, Ever, following multiple domestic violence incidents and allegations. Earlier this year, Mortensen alleged Paul had been physically violent with him during a February incident, in which Mortensen claimed that Paul had allegedly choked him and shoved him into a window, per documents obtained by TMZ at the time. Paul denied the allegations of child abuse. Mortensen was later granted temporary custody of Ever, while Paul filed for a protective order against Mortensen and claimed that he assaulted her in his truck. The order was granted and a judge ruled that the exes have to stay at least 100 feet away from each other. Earlier this month, a judge ruled that Taylor no longer needed supervised visitation of Ever and that she can have her son on alternative weekends and one midweek day. Earlier this week, the Bluffdale Police Department confirmed to Us that Mortensen called the cops with questions about the exes’ protective order amid their ongoing custody battle. The case was ultimately sent to the District Attorney’s office, who will decide if a violation occurred. The exes' next hearing is scheduled for July 8. In March, TMZ released unseen footage from Taylor and Dakota's 2023 domestic dispute where Taylor was seen throwing chairs before one hit her and Tate's daughter. Tate, for his part, has not publicly spoken out in the years since his ex-wife became a public figure. “I just respect his privacy a lot, and I know that's what he likes,” Taylor exclusively told Us for her March cover story. “But he and I have always been really good friends and [have a] very healthy coparenting relationship.”

Trump's Unexpected Win in National Park History Battle New

Trump's Unexpected Win in National Park History Battle

President Trump hasn’t been able to do much of anything during his second term that doesn’t get legally challenged by left-wing groups aligned with Democrats.Trump is even challenged in court when he issues executive orders and policies that other presidents have successfully issued. But increasingly, the 45th and 47th president is proving to be a worthy adversary in court to these left-wing groups.Case in point: A legal fight over how American history should be presented to the public took another unexpected turn Thursday after a federal appeals court stepped in before a looming holiday deadline. The ruling doesn’t settle the broader dispute, but it does hand one side a significant victory while allowing a controversial policy to remain in place as the case moves forward.A federal appeals court on Thursday granted the Trump administration’s request to pause a lower court order that would have forced the National Park Service to restore historical displays altered under President Donald Trump’s executive order titled “Restoring Truth and Sanity to American History.”Advertisement The decision by the 1st U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals allows the administration to continue enforcing the policy while the appeal is considered. The dispute began after Trump signed an executive order directing the Department of the Interior to review monuments, memorials, and educational displays under its control. The order instructed Interior Secretary Doug Burgum to ensure displays “do not contain descriptions, depictions, or other content that inappropriately disparage Americans past or living” and instead emphasize “the greatness of the achievements and progress of the American people.”Per the order, the National Park Service reviewed interpretive materials nationwide.According to court filings, the agency removed or flagged hundreds of displays addressing topics including climate change, slavery, abolition, immigration, labor, women’s suffrage, civil rights, and the treatment of Native Americans.Several advocacy organizations sued the administration in February, arguing the policy violated the Administrative Procedure Act.Last month, U.S. District Judge Angel Kelley sided with the plaintiffs by issuing a preliminary injunction blocking the policy.Kelley also ordered the Interior Department to restore all materials altered or removed by July 3.The Trump administration appealed and asked the 1st Circuit to halt that restoration order while the case proceeds. On Thursday, the appeals court agreed. The judges emphasized they were not deciding whether Trump’s executive order is lawful.Instead, they concluded the organizations bringing the lawsuit had not demonstrated they themselves suffered the type of irreparable harm necessary to justify the preliminary injunction.According to the court, the plaintiffs alleged “aesthetic, recreational, and informational harms” primarily on behalf of their members rather than on behalf of the organizations themselves. The panel also noted that although numerous declarations were submitted, only one identified member described specific personal harm.Because the legal standard for emergency relief had not been met, the court ruled that the district court’s injunction should be stayed pending the appeal. The decision means the Department of the Interior is not required to restore any interpretive materials modified under the secretary’s order. The administration’s policy, therefore, remains in effect for now.The ruling is procedural and does not resolve the underlying legal questions surrounding the executive order. Those issues will be addressed as the appeal moves forward. On America 250’s eve, a big win for President Trump and @TheJusticeDept at the First Circuit. Even the First Circuit agrees the injunction stopping the President from “Restoring Truth and Sanity to American History” was improperly issued. It was stayed. Sanity restored! pic.twitter.com/whaictWbbH — Eric W. (@EWess92) July 3, 2026Still, the decision represents an early victory for the Trump administration as it continues defending the president’s effort to reshape how American history is presented at federally managed historic sites. It also spares National Park Service employees from having to complete the court-ordered restoration work ahead of the America 250 holiday weekend while litigation continues, RedState reported. The broader legal battle over Trump’s executive order is expected to continue in the months ahead, with the appeals court eventually deciding whether the policy complies with federal law. This article may contain commentary which reflects the author's opinion.

FIFA Faces Backlash Over Folarin Balogun's Controversial Suspension U-Turn New

FIFA Faces Backlash Over Folarin Balogun's Controversial Suspension U-Turn

A highly controversial decision has the football community up in arms.UEFA, the Union of European Football Associations, released a statement on Monday questioning FIFA over its “unprecedented, incomprehensible and unjustifiable decision” to allow Folarin Balogun to play in Monday’s USMNT game against Belgium. In the USA’s 2-0 win over Bosnia and Herzegovina in the Round of 32, Balogun received a controversial red card, which is automatically accompanied by a one-game suspension.USMNT’s Folarin Balogun was given a red card for this play. AP Photo/Martin MeissnerHowever, on Sunday, under article 27 of the FIFA disciplinary code, the soccer governing body suspended the punishment, allowing him to play.In its statment, UEFA said that soccer relies on an agreed upon set of rules and that the automatic suspension is not a “discretionary option and does not require the decision of a competent body to be enacted.”President Donald Trump called FIFA president Gianni Infantino and assembled a team of lawyers to challenge the red card ruling. The lawyers argue that the red card review process violated FIFA rules, specifically challenging the use of slow-motion instant replay.FIFA’s independent committee reviewed the decision and ruled that the card was wrongfully issued, suspending the punishment.United States’ Folarin Balogun (20) attends a training session ahead of their World Cup round of 16 soccer match against Belgium. AP Photo/Manu Fernandez“When the certainty of rules is no longer guaranteed by its guardians, the integrity of the game is at stake, and the credibility of a competition is undermined,” UEFA wrote.“Equally, such a decision creates a precedent in the ongoing tournament, where similar situations will now require equal treatment, to the detriment of the competition.”They continued by saying soccer is the most loved sport in the world, and a ruling like this “has the power to drive positive or negative consequences on the game as a whole.”Most of the soccer world outside the United States reacted negatively to the ruling issued 24 hours before the Round of 16 match. The ref holds up the red card. REUTERSBelgium head coach Rudi Garcia said he didn’t know that “5 July was equal to 1 April at FIFA” and that he and his team will not only defend their country on Monday but also soccer and its ethics.Belgium can appeal the ruling until 8 a.m ET

He estado cantando, casi no puedo hablar.
