Russian Supply Trucks Race Through Flames After Ukrainian Drone Strikes

To view this video please enable JavaScript, and consider upgrading to a web browser that supports HTML5 video Up Next Previous Page Next Page Ukraine has not let up on its strikes on Russian infrastructure as they hope to cripple Vladimir Putin’s war machine. The latest drone strikes appear to have hit Russian cargo lorries carrying supplies to the frontlines of occupied Crimea. One lorry, engulfed in a ball of flames, tries to speed away from the attack caught on camera posted on Wednesday. At least three trucks were destroyed in the strike which was caught on camera by passing motorists. Russian Telegram say Ukrainian medium-range drones have intensified operations in recent weeks, targeting supply traffic and disrupting logistics to the front. Ukrainian forces have turned the crucial R-280 land corridor to occupied Crimea into a hunting zone, picking off military trucks with ease and turning the area into a graveyard. Last night Kyiv launched a marine drone strike on an oil tanker passing Sochi – Russia’s playground for the rich and famous spewing smoke on the resort. Russian oil tanker burns in Sochi port raining ash on the holiday resort It came after three days of mourning have been declared in Pryluky, Chernihiv region, from October 7 to 9 for those killed in the Russian missile strike on an apartment building on October 7. President Volodymyr Zelensky said that Russia’s continued missile strikes are a deliberate choice to use terror after 18 Ukrainians were killed, four of them children: Oleksandr, Kyrylo, and Serhii, who were only one year old, and eight-year-old Maksym. Expressing his condolences, he said: ‘The Russians know very well that they are striking ordinary cities, ordinary life. And the continued use of missiles against Ukraine, against our people, our children, is an absolutely deliberate choice of terror. ‘This is what Moscow chooses – despite all our efforts with partners to bring peace closer. And this is a clear reason why more pressure on Russia is needed and why Ukraine needs more defence packages. It is important that leaders understand this. It is important that the world not remain silent today,’ he said.

New

Instagram avucic autor: 07. okt. Nikad to nisu hteli.

Why Americans’ View of Israel Has Hit a Record Low New

Why Americans’ View of Israel Has Hit a Record Low

Americans’ view of Israel is at its lowest point in almost 50 years, a new poll shows, as the NAZA documentary, which accuses Israel of recklessly killing civilians in Gaza, hits American cinemas. On a favorability thermometer scale, where zero represents a cold, unfavorable view and 100 is the warmest reading possible, Americans gave Israel a rating of 44, according to new research by the Chicago Council on Global Affairs published on Monday. This is the lowest level ever recorded by the nonpartisan organization, which has surveyed Americans’ foreign-policy views since 1974.Favorability for Israel has declined across the political aisle, among Democrats, Republicans and independents, the poll found, with more than half of Americans in favor of the U.S. decreasing or stopping military aid to the country. It comes as NAZA, named after the Hebrew acronym for collateral damage, is set to open at theatres in Austin, Chicago, Los Angeles and Seattle on October 9, after much controversy over the allegations in the film, which Israel vehemently denies. It has already started showing in New York. The film, produced by The Guardian, does not have a traditional distributor and is playing in the U.S. and abroad with the help of independent film studio mk2.Its contents, which the producer says “reveal the systems behind Israel’s calculated mass killing of Palestinian civilians in Gaza” based on anonymous interviews with 24 members of Israeli intelligence and the military, have prompted intense backlash from Israel and advocacy groups in America.A view of protestors during the "NAZA" screening at the Sag Harbor Cinema during the 2026 Hamptons International Film Festival on October 3, 2026, in ... | (Photo by Sonia Moskowitz/Getty Images)The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) issued a lengthy statement at the beginning of this month, saying it “categorically rejects these allegations,” questioning the film’s sources and arguing it contains “absurd contradictions.”Newsweek contacted the Israeli Embassy in Washington and NAZA filmmakers Yuval Abraham and Rachel Szor via email for comment.America’s Record-Low View of Israel in NumbersThe Chicago Council’s new overall score of 44, the lowest in the organization’s history, follows a consistent decline in favorable views toward Israel since 2022, when it was 58.This shift can be seen across all political groups, but most sharply among Democrats, who dropped from an average of 52 in 2022 to 30 this year. Republicans’ view decreased from 69 to 62 and independents' from 56 to 41.The current 32-point difference between Republicans and Democrats on favorability toward Israel is now at its highest point ever. But there are differences among factions in the same political camps, with MAGA Republicans still showing a favorable view of Israel – 67 compared to non-MAGA Republicans who average at 55.Likewise, Democrats who identify as liberal give a lower score for Israel (27) than those who describe themselves as moderate (34).For the first time ever, more than 50 percent of Americans believe Washington, D.C., should reduce or cut US military assistance to Israel – 56 percent up from 38 percent in 2022.The Chicago Council surveyed 2,156 adults between July 10 and 21 this year. It reports a margin of error of +/-2.2 percentage points. What is Driving the Shift? The report’s authors, Dina Smeltz, the council’s managing director and chair of public opinion and foreign policy and research associate Lama El Baz, point to “Israel’s war against Hamas… the United States government’s support for it, as well as the joint US-Israeli war on Iran” for “dramatically reshap[ing] the American public’s perception of one of Washington’s strongest partners in the Middle East.”“The previously bipartisan public consensus on a strong relationship with Israel is now marked by deep divisions along partisan lines,” they conclude. “Ongoing debates around continued U.S. support for Israel could help to shape the outcome of the upcoming midterm elections for some voters and, over time, future US policy toward this longstanding US partner.”Israel and advocates have long blamed misleading information for negative views of the country. The Anti-Defamation League (ADL), a U.S. nonprofit that combats antisemitism, warns about incomplete information in reports about Israel, a “pattern of scapegoating Jewish people,” stereotypes and oversimplification of the conflict in the Middle East. The IDF invokes this stance in its response to the NAZA film, arguing that the information in the documentary cannot be verified and lacks context.Unrelated file photo of supporters holding Israeli and American flags as they gather on the National Mall at the March for Israel on Tuesday, Nov. 14,... | AP Photo/Mark SchiefelbeinWhat To Know About NAZANAZA first premiered on September 10 at the 83rd Venice International Film Festival, where it won the festival’s Special Jury Prize. It then premiered at the New York Film Festival on September 26 at Lincoln Center’s Alice Tully Hall. The documentary is built on investigations that were published by Israeli-Palestinian outlet +972 Magazine, Hebrew-language publication Local Call and The Guardian between 2023 and 2025.Filmmakers Abraham and Szor say the film includes testimonies from officers and soldiers who “conducted the surveillance, who calculated how many innocent people were likely to be killed in each house, and who repeatedly gave the green light to bomb entire families.”They wrote for +972 Magazine: “The conclusion that we draw from the testimonies is clear: The mass killing of Palestinian civilians in Gaza was not a ‘tragic byproduct’ of a war against Hamas, as it is commonly portrayed in Israel, but a premeditated, calculated, and intentional act.”Rachel Szor and Yuval Abraham pose with the Special Jury Prize Award for "Naza" at the Winners Photocall during the 83rd Venice International Film Fes... | (Photo by Elisabetta A. Villa/Getty Images)The allegations include claims that the Israeli military used artificial intelligence tools that could predict the number of civilian deaths and carried out those operations anyway. The IDF addressed this accusation directly, saying: “Decisions regarding the selection and approval of strikes in the IDF are made by human personnel only, in accordance with IDF guidelines, and not by artificial intelligence.”IDF Speaks Out Against NAZAThe IDF said the film “relies on anonymous testimonies from individuals whose identity cannot be verified, including whether they served in the IDF, in what capacity, or whether they were involved in the matters about which the allegations are being made.”It went on to argue that the claims attributed to soldiers cannot be true because they “are regarding national and military strategy that are clearly beyond the knowledge of junior-level soldiers.”“The IDF strikes military targets and makes unprecedented efforts to minimize harm to civilians,” it said. “Hamas continues to systematically operate from within the civilian environment, embedding its operatives and military infrastructure among the population and exploiting civilian areas for terrorist purposes.”The IDF's full statement reads: "The IDF categorically rejects these allegations."According to the publications, the film relies on anonymous testimonies from individuals whose identity cannot be verified, including whether they served in the IDF, in what capacity, or whether they were involved in the matters about which the allegations are being made."The excerpts cited include claims regarding national and military strategy that are clearly beyond the knowledge of junior-level soldiers. There are references to situations in which IDF Intelligence Directorate soldiers, who were allegedly interviewed for the film, by definition would not have been involved. There is also an incorrect use of legal terminology by individuals who are not legal professionals, as well as internal and absurd contradictions, such as the claim that unintended harm resulting from lawful attacks was carried out deliberately or constituted part of “genocide,” without understanding the meaning of these terms."The IDF operates in the Gaza Strip in order to protect Israeli civilians and directs its military activity against terrorist organizations, foremost among them Hamas, in accordance with international law and the laws of armed conflict. As part of this, the IDF strikes military targets and makes unprecedented efforts to minimize harm to civilians. Hamas continues to systematically operate from within the civilian environment, embedding its operatives and military infrastructure among the population and exploiting civilian areas for terrorist purposes. When specific suspicions of violations of the law by an IDF soldier arise, the IDF is fully committed to investigating them and bringing those responsible to justice through independent enforcement mechanisms. A soldier who witnesses a violation of the law is required under military orders to report it so that the need to open an investigation can be examined. This also applies to individuals who were interviewed for the film."Regarding the allegations concerning the use of artificial intelligence - decisions regarding the selection and approval of strikes in the IDF are made by human personnel only, in accordance with IDF guidelines, and not by artificial intelligence."The Israeli-American Council is one of several American advocacy groups that have also spoken out about the film, planning demonstrations outside screenings of the movie. In a call to mobilize outside California’s Smith Rafael Film Center on Tuesday, it says supporters should gather to “challenge the film’s narrative and ensure the truth of October 7 is not forgotten.”Newsweek’s reporters and editors used Martyn, our AI assistant, to produce this story.

TSA Reveals 3 Security Mistakes Senior Travelers Often Make New

TSA Reveals 3 Security Mistakes Senior Travelers Often Make

See more of our coverage in your search results. Air travel is undeniably a slow and stressful endeavor, all the more so for seniors. Elder travelers often deal with mobility issues and unfamiliarity with tech and packing protocols, which can slow them down at security. To help smooth the process, TSA agents are sharing 3 common mistakes seniors make in the security line and a holy trinity of advice to speed things up, ensuring they can fly high at any age. Unorganized medicationOne of the most common mistakes seniors make is not separating and properly labeling their medications before travel. TSA agents are spilling the tea on three common mistakes seniors make at security checkpoints, offering tips to speed up your next flight. Art_Photo – stock.adobe.comWhile an officer may not always require a traveler to remove these items, it is a possibility, and having these items labeled and located in one specific location rather than in multiple unlabeled bags and bottles ensures a swifter security experience. Because certain medications require refrigeration, experts underscore the importance of using TSA-approved ice packs.“Items that do not meet requirements may need to be discarded or placed in checked baggage if time allows,” a TSA spokesperson told Travel+Leisure. They report that while gel ice packs are ideal for reuse, they must remain solidly frozen when going through security.Mishandling sensitive documents“Passengers sometimes arrive at the checkpoint without ready access to their ID, passport, or boarding pass,” a TSA spokesperson shared. To keep things organized and at the ready, they recommend keeping all sensitive documents, including passports, visas, and credit cards, in a passport wallet or holder.A neck wallet or an easy-to-spot neon passport holder can further reduce the hassle of searching for your ID and other necessities in the security line. Getty ImagesA neck wallet or an easy-to-spot neon passport holder can further reduce the hassle of searching for your ID and other necessities in the security line. Failing to disclose medical implantsMany seniors saunter through the metal detector without alerting an agent they have a pacemaker. “This can be dangerous, and they may think the metal detector is a safe option instead of the body scanner, which is what they should be using,” Caleb Harmon-Marshall, a former TSA agent who now operates the travel newsletter Gate Access, told T+L.Harmon-Marshall recommends keeping their medical card or a note reminding them to declare their pacemaker in a bag with a clear front pocket.Another option is to wear a medical ID bracelet or attach a custom medical keychain to your luggage that indicates you have a pacemaker or a titanium hip or knee replacement, which typically sets off metal detectors. For any senior citizen who isn’t sure what machine to use, they should always request a physical pat-down,” says Harmon-Marshall Getty Images“For any senior citizen who isn’t sure what machine to use, they should always request a physical pat-down,” says Harmon-Marshall.Experts note that some TSA officers may request proof of the procedure, so they recommend keeping an official doctor’s card in your personal item with your travel documents. And despite the hassles of air travel, plenty of evidence suggests it’s well worth the effort. Research suggests that traveling can benefit your brain, with some studies finding it may help dementia patients and even fend off cognitive decline. However, where those seniors should be seated on an aircraft remains a source of debate.A 2024 study found that the increase in seniors taking to the skies could risk the safety of other passengers on board — sparking concerns about whether airlines can still meet the required 90-second emergency evacuation mandate.Over the last few decades, average life expectancy in the United States has risen to nearly 80 years — and the post-COVID era has shown that travel has become a priority for at least 70% of the population aged 50 and above. With the surge in older travelers boarding planes, scientists have suggested that elderly travelers should be spread across a plane’s seating chart for everyone’s safety.

9 Signs You’re Carrying the Emotional Weight of Every Relationship New

9 Signs You’re Carrying the Emotional Weight of Every Relationship

1. You scan every room before checking yourselfYou notice who seems tense, disappointed or withdrawn before you notice your own emotional state. That awareness can look like empathy, but it becomes costly when everyone else’s comfort consistently outranks yours. At a gathering, for example, you may spend the evening managing awkwardness instead of asking whether you are enjoying yourself. Try pausing when you enter a room and naming one feeling and one need of your own before responding to anyone else.2. You solve problems nobody asked you to carryThe moment someone mentions a difficulty, your mind starts building a rescue plan. You make calls, rearrange schedules or absorb tasks before learning what the person actually wants. This can create exhaustion for you and dependence or frustration for them. Support does not always require intervention. Before taking action, ask, “Do you want help, advice or simply someone to listen?” That small question protects your energy while allowing the other person to keep ownership of their choices.3. Being useful feels safer than being fully knownYou may feel most secure in relationships when you are helping, organizing or fixing. Usefulness gives you a clear role, while vulnerability carries the risk of being misunderstood or rejected. The problem appears when people know what you can do for them but not what scares, delights or matters to you. Practice sharing something that cannot be turned into a service: an uncertain feeling, a personal hope or an honest preference. Connection needs more than competence.4. You edit your needs to prevent discomfortInstead of saying what you want, you first calculate what the other person can tolerate. A direct request becomes a hint, an apology or silence. You may tell yourself you are being considerate, yet repeated self-editing makes genuine negotiation impossible. Start with low-stakes honesty: choose the restaurant, decline a plan or ask for quiet time without presenting a legal defense. Someone’s momentary disappointment does not automatically mean your request was unfair or the relationship is in danger.5. Other people’s moods quickly become your responsibilityWhen someone is quiet or irritable, you immediately wonder what you did wrong and how to repair it. You may become extra agreeable, entertaining or apologetic without knowing whether the mood involves you at all. This habit keeps you emotionally on call. Replace guessing with one clear check-in: “You seem distant. Is there something between us you want to discuss?” If the answer is no, let that person manage their internal weather rather than making it your full-time assignment.6. You ask questions but rarely receive curiosity backYou know everyone’s family history, current stress and private ambitions, yet conversations rarely turn toward your inner life. Sometimes this happens because others are self-focused; sometimes your skillful listening helps you remain hidden. Notice who follows up when you share something meaningful and who quickly redirects the conversation. You do not need to punish anyone, but you can invest more deeply in relationships where curiosity travels both ways instead of continuously performing emotional attention for an audience.7. Resentment arrives after you volunteer too quicklyYou say yes before checking your capacity, then feel angry that nobody noticed the sacrifice. The resentment is real, but it may be carrying information that your immediate agreement concealed. Others cannot reliably respect a limit they never get to hear. Build a pause into requests: “Let me check and get back to you.” During that pause, consider your time, energy and actual desire. A thoughtful yes is more generous than an automatic yes followed by private bitterness.8. Receiving care makes you restless or indebtedGiving feels natural, but being helped can trigger discomfort. You may rush to repay a favor, minimize your struggle or insist you are fine because receiving leaves you exposed. Yet mutual relationships require both people to experience themselves as valuable contributors. The next time someone offers appropriate support, resist balancing the account immediately. Say thank you and let the kindness stand. Accepting care is not taking advantage; it gives another person the chance to participate meaningfully in your life.9. Stepping back feels like abandoning the relationshipWhen you stop initiating, reminding or smoothing every conflict, you may fear the entire connection will collapse. That fear can reveal how much of the relationship’s momentum you have been supplying. Stepping back is not a manipulation or loyalty test; it is a way to stop doing both people’s work. Reduce one unrequested effort and observe what happens. Healthy connections may wobble during change, but they also leave room for others to reach, repair and contribute.

Updated 16:20 7 Oct 2026 GMT+1Published 15:15 11 Mar 2026 GMTDouglas opened up about one symptom especially which stuck out for himMichael Dougals has opened up about the signs of throat cancer, including one symptom in particular, as well as the condition's link to oral sex.In 2010 the star of Basic Instinct revealed that he had been diagnosed with cancer, though he divulged only that it had been caused by Human Papillomavirus, or HPV, three years after this.HPV is more widely known for its connection to cervical cancer, and can be transmitted by any skin to skin contact with the genitals, including oral sex.Douglas said he consulted a doctor in 2010 after a sore throat which had lasted unusually long, only for his doctor to be left stunned after finding a 'walnut-sized' tumour at the bottom of Douglas' tongue.AdvertIt was determined that he had stage VI squamous cell carcinoma oral cancer, and immediately started an eight-week-long course of treatment including chemotherapy and radiation therapy, during which he lost some 20kg from the brutal treatment program.Douglas said that the condition had been from oral sex, and HPV can be passed from skin to skin contact.Happily, Douglas went into remission from his cancer. Here are some symptoms of oral HPV which you should watch out for.Michael Douglas is now cancer-free after discovering he had a tumour which he said was caused by oral sex (Keith Birmingham/MediaNews Group/Pasadena Star-News via Getty Images)Symptoms of oral HPVIt is important that you see a doctor if you notice these symptoms persisting, or if they are starting to worry you:Long-lasting sore throatHoarsenessEar achesSwollen lymph nodesPain when swallowingUnexplained weight lossSome people have no symptoms, according to the US Centres For Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), though serious cases of HPV can cause warts or cancer.Having swollen lymph nodes can be a sign of throat cancer (Getty Stock Image)How severe can HPV be?HPV is the single most common sexually transmitted infection in the US.There are over 100 types of the virus, and 40 of those can spread through direct sexual contact to the genital areas, as well as the mouth and throat, according to The Oral Cancer Foundation.Oral HPV is transmitted to the mouth by oral sex, among other ways. How is HPV transmitted through oral sex?It is estimated that 10 per cent of men and 3.6 per cent of women have oral HPV, while the CDC claim that all sexually active people will get at least one type of HPV at some point in their lives, though most people are cleared of the virus in just one to two years. In the US, it is estimated that HPV causes 60 to 70 per cent of oropharyngeal cancers. There are more than 100 types of HPV (Getty stock images)Speaking to The Conversation, Dr Hisham Mehanna explained: "Those with six or more lifetime oral-sex partners are 8.5 times more likely to develop oropharyngeal cancer than those who do not practice oral sex."80 per cent of adults reported practicing oral sex at some point in their lives, but only a small number of those people develop oropharyngeal cancer."He pointed out that most of us who catch HPV infections will be 'able to clear them completely' over time, but explained: "A small number of people are not able to get rid of the infection, maybe due to a defect in a particular aspect of their immune system."Dr Mehanna said that the virus can replicate continuously in these patients, integrating in random positions in their DNA, which can cause host cells to become cancerous. What happened after Douglas's cancer diagnosis? After his diagnosis and treatment, which he described as being 'like the seven circles of hell', Douglas said he was 'just happy to be alive', adding to the Daily Mail: "I was ecstatic. It feels like a rebirth after you go through cancer and you come out of it. You feel like you’re a child.“You see priorities differently. You have a much deeper appreciation of marriage, of your children – you see everything a little bit clearer, and a little brighter.”Douglas spoke about how his revelation affected his wife of 25 years, Catherine Zeta-Jones (Samir Hussein/WireImage)However, the Ant-Man star said he regretted the 'embarrassment' the story caused his wife, Catherine Zeta-Jones, whom he married in November 2000.He said: "I was trying to make a public service comment. It was one of those things... and I so regretted any embarrassment that it caused Catherine. And her family."Douglas also revealed in 2013 that he had tongue cancer, as he told Samuel L. Jackson on This Morning that he was advised to 'just say it's throat cancer' as it was 'before I had to go on a big tour for Wall Street'."So we kind of said there's no way we can cancel the tour and say we don't feel well … You've got to tell them," he said. "I said you've just got to come out and just tell them I've got cancer and that's that."Featured Image Credit: Keith Birmingham/MediaNews Group/Pasadena Star-News via Getty ImagesTopics: Cancer, Celebrity, Health, Michael Douglas

Justina Shiroka Pula in the Spotlight: The Passion Few Knew About

Top Channel

Christa Pike’s First Words After Failed Execution Raise New Questions New

Christa Pike’s First Words After Failed Execution Raise New Questions

Updated 17:48 7 Oct 2026 GMT+1Published 22:32 6 Oct 2026 GMT+1The death row killer has communicated for the first time since her failed executionChrista Pike's team have issued an update after the news broke that she is awake and talking, following her botched execution. Her lawyer Luke Inhen confirmed in court today (7 October) that she's “speaking limitedly,” reports the BBC, adding that until yesterday she'd been unconscious. As previously reported by the BBC, Dr Joel Zivot, a professor of anaesthesiology and surgery in Atlanta who consulted as an expert for Pike’s legal team, revealed the limited communication that has taken place. He confirmed that Pike has been taken off a ventilator and told the outlet: "She has some memories of being in the hospital but no memory, I believe, of the execution attempt."AdvertShe was reportedly able to recall her name but had made an incorrect guess at the date, believing that the month was still September. It comes after lawyers for Pike said in a statement, published by The Tennessean on Tuesday (6 October): "Against all odds, Christa Pike is conscious, speaking, and continues to receive critical medical care. Despite the severe damage she endured to her arms, she is still handcuffed and shackled to the bed. Her recovery is medically unprecedented. Her prognosis remains unclear but, at a minimum, we expect a long recovery."Pike was administered two doses of the deadly drug pentobarbital on September 30 by the Tennessee Department of Correction, but she survived.Christa Pike was scheduled to be executed on 30 September, but the procedure failed (WVLT News)Lawyers described how she was heard whimpering, crying, and complaining of pain in her arm due to the procedure, before she lost consciousness. While a chaotic press conference was held, an ambulance arrived outside the facility, and she was rushed to hospital.Pike was reportedly under heavy guard while unconscious in critical condition. Her legal team praised first responders 'who treated Christa like a human and have provided exceptional care to her'.Her lawyers' statement also marked the first sign of recovery for Pike since Wednesday's failed execution. The Tennessee Department of Correction, meanwhile, has said it can offer no update on her condition beyond confirming she was taken to hospital.Christa Pike's lawyers have issued an update following her botched execution (Tennessee Department of Corrections)Pike was sentenced to death for the 1995 murder of her classmate Colleen Slemmer. Her legal team previously said the injection had left her arm burned and bruised, and there were fears she might not recover.Dr Zivot previously said the update 'bodes well for a good recovery' but warned that it could be weeks or even months before doctors can fully judge how well she's recovering.Christa Pike revealed what lethal injection felt like in her body during botched execution"She's still in the ICU," he said. "She has recovered to a certain degree that she's able to be off a ventilator and able to speak, but in no way would I announce her free of further serious risk."There's still a lot of bad things that can happen here, even when everyone is doing their job well."Her legal team was in court to press for answers about what went wrong with the lethal injection, including an order requiring Tennessee to preserve evidence from the failed execution. They are seeking a court order requiring the Tennessee Department of Correction to preserve evidence, including drug lot numbers, records, and other information from the attempted execution.State lawyer Will Ayers said on Wednesday that they are "unusual procedural position here".Featured Image Credit: (Police handout)Topics: Crime
