Asım Aykan’dan Erdoğan’a dikkat çeken sandık uyarısı: Neşteri vur

Millet Reis’ten onu bekliyor.. Vatandaşın vicdanı rahatsız’’ cevabını verdi. They simply let my daughter die.AdvertRussian media claims the victim died after breaking a test tube“I’m waiting for it to become official. It has to be an official document. It’s very hard for me right now. This whole spectacle drags on.”Russian media reported that Daria died after a test tube broke while she was working in a lab in Irkutsk, Siberia, although her mother disputes this. She is thought to have been studying bacteria called Yersinia pestis, which killed millions during the Middle Ages.Daria was reportedly part of an expedition in Buryatia, on Russia’s border with Mongolia – where she studied plague-infested squirrels. The researcher died of what officials have termed ‘pneumonia of unknown aetiology’.Russia has seen cases of the plague (Getty Stock Images)According to France 24, the governor of the Irkutsk region denied anyone died as a result of working with dangerous pathogens, and there have been few details released over how Daria passed away.Officials were quick, however, to place several hospitals and almost 200 people into a strict quarantine lockdown after reports of her death. The World Health Organisation has responded to the death by asking Russia for updates.US President Donald Trump has offered to help Russia, warning that the plague is ‘stronger and smarter’ than current vaccines.US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said America would be “watching and monitoring it closely”.Shipilova worked as a lab technician at a plague research institute in Irkutsk, Siberia. So we’re watching and monitoring it closely.”Daria’s mother insisted her daughter would not have broken a test tube.“Only an amateur would say something like that,” she said.“It’s simply impossible to spill or break it. They are so heavily protected.”Asked about the lack of a funeral, she said: “Who is going to bury her if we are sitting here imprisoned?“She was such a hard worker. A pure, truly pure soul. It is very difficult to get a job there at Irkutsk Anti-Plague Institute.“They destroyed my daughter – abandoned her and destroyed her.”Featured Image Credit: (Getty)Topics: Russia

Jamaal Howard’s Execution Faces Urgent Challenge After Christa Pike’s Failed Injection New

Jamaal Howard’s Execution Faces Urgent Challenge After Christa Pike’s Failed Injection

Published 01:48 7 Oct 2026 GMT+1He's due to be put to death on 7 October but his legal team is fighting for a reprieve following Pike's botched execution attempt Texas death row inmate Jamaal Howard is set to become the first person to be executed following the botched attempt on Christa Pike. Howard is set to be executed on 7 October for the 2000 murder of Vickie Swartout during an attempted robbery. Howard was 20 at the time of the killing and has spent more than two decades on death row. His legal team has attempted to fight the execution and requested an emergency reprieve from Texas Governor Greg Abbott. AdvertHis lawyers claim that Howard, 46, has an intellectual disability and a long history of severe mental illness. Howard’s spiritual advisor Reverend Jeff Hood told 12 News Now that at his trial, psychiatrists who examined Howard found his IQ to be in the 65 to 70 range and described him as functioning at the level of an 11- or 12-year-old.Jamaal Howard is set to be executed on 7 October (State of Texas 356th Judicial Court)His legal team have also raised concerns following Pike’s recent execution attempt that went badly wrong. Pike, 50, survived two doses of pentobarbital at her scheduled execution on 30 September and was rushed to hospital for life-saving treatment. On Tuesday (6 October), her legal team said she is ‘conscious and speaking’. "Against all odds, Christa Pike is conscious, speaking, and continues to receive critical medical care,” they said. "Despite the severe damage she endured to her arms, she is still handcuffed and shackled to the bed. Her recovery is medically unprecedented. Her prognosis remains unclear but, at a minimum, we expect a long recovery."In the wake of the botched execution attempt, the state of Tennessee announced a halt on all scheduled executions. In court filings made by Howard’s lawyers, they note that he is at risk of receiving the same type of lethal injection as Pike. The filing states: “Ms. Pike survived two lethal doses of pentobarbital, the same drug used in executions in Texas, and she reportedly remains hospitalised in critical condition.”Tennessee Department of CorrectionsThe reprieve request continues: “When an execution goes wrong, one of the first questions anyone asks is whether the drug was what the State said it was. “Tennessee’s own officials cannot yet answer that, and the answer lies in records: when the drug was bought, from whom, how it was stored, and what testing was done and when. Texas should not wait until after a failed execution to ask the same questions.“We do not know why Ms. Pike’s execution failed, and we, specifically, do not know whether the failure was due to the pentobarbital’s being ineffective.” In an article for the Texas Observer ahead of the execution, Hood claimed that Howard ‘didn’t understand how executions were carried out’ and that he had not heard of the Pike case. Hood said he told Howard that in Pike’s case the drugs didn’t work, to which he replied: “I guess if the drugs don’t work, they’ll just shoot me in the head.”He said that he told Howard that executions didn’t work but claimed he ‘literally had no understanding of the protocol by which he was going to be executed or what would happen if something went wrong’. 8 Subtle Ways Fear of Disappointing People Shapes Your Decisions New

8 Subtle Ways Fear of Disappointing People Shapes Your Decisions

1. You answer before checking what you actually wantA request arrives, and your yes comes out almost automatically. Only later do you notice the tension, resentment or scheduling chaos it creates. The issue is not generosity; it is skipping the moment when your own preference gets a vote. Try replacing immediate agreement with a neutral pause: “Let me check and get back to you.” That small delay helps you distinguish genuine willingness from the reflex to keep someone else comfortable.2. You treat other people’s moods as your responsibilityWhen someone seems quiet, irritated or disappointed, you may start searching for what you did wrong. You offer reassurance, change your plans or soften an honest opinion before knowing whether the mood involves you at all. This habit can make every emotional shift feel like an assignment. Instead of rushing to repair, ask one clear question if needed, then allow the other person to manage feelings that belong to them.3. You overexplain choices that require no defenseA simple no becomes a detailed account of your workload, health, family plans and good intentions. Overexplaining often reflects the hope that enough context will prevent anyone from judging you. Yet long defenses can invite negotiation, as though your boundary is valid only after approval. Practice giving the amount of information the situation genuinely requires. “I can’t make it, but thank you for asking” is complete, even if someone would prefer a different answer.4. You choose usefulness over being fully knownBeing dependable can become a safe role: the listener, organizer, fixer or person who never needs much. Usefulness earns appreciation without requiring the vulnerability of showing uncertainty, anger or need. Over time, people may know what you provide better than who you are. Notice relationships where care mostly flows in one direction. Share one honest preference or ask for one manageable form of support, then observe who makes room for you.5. You edit honest opinions to preserve approvalYou may say “either is fine” when you have a preference, laugh at something that bothers you or agree publicly while objecting privately. These edits seem small, but repeated self-silencing can leave you feeling invisible in relationships you helped shape. Honesty does not require bluntness. Start with low-stakes moments: suggest the restaurant you prefer, question a plan respectfully or say, “I see it differently.” Tolerance for disagreement grows through practice.6. You confuse someone’s disappointment with your wrongdoingAnother person can dislike your decision without that decision being cruel, selfish or unfair. A friend may feel disappointed that you cannot attend an event; a colleague may dislike that you declined extra work. Their reaction is real, but it is not automatic proof of misconduct. Evaluate your behavior by clearer questions: Were you honest? Were you respectful? Did you break a commitment? Discomfort is information to consider, not a verdict you must obey.7. You postpone important changes until everyone understandsLeaving a job, changing a tradition or creating distance in a relationship can remain on hold while you search for wording that guarantees acceptance. But some people will resist a change because it affects them, not because you explained it poorly. Seek understanding where possible, yet do not make unanimous approval the entry fee for your life. A decision can be thoughtful and still inconvenience, confuse or disappoint someone you care about.8. You measure kindness by how much discomfort you absorbIf kindness means never upsetting anyone, you may absorb extra work, unwanted contact and unresolved tension until resentment takes over. Sustainable kindness includes honesty about capacity. It may sound like declining a favor, ending a circular conversation or letting someone solve a problem themselves. The goal is not to become indifferent to others; it is to stop using self-erasure as evidence of love. Care is healthier when it does not require disappearing.

Why Cynthia Erivo Called Sunny Hostin After Her Viral Cornell Remarks

See more of our coverage in your search results. Cynthia Erivo gave Sunny Hostin a call after hearing the “View” co-host’s viral remarks on the investigation into the alleged sexual assault at Cornell University.Hostin revealed on Tuesday’s “Behind the Table” podcast episode that the “Wicked” star told her that the clip she’d seen of her take on the “Cornell 7” case last week didn’t “reflect who” she is.At the time, Erivo explained, “Sis, I know you and I know your heart and your life’s work has been about protecting women and children.”Cynthia Erivo (pictured above in October 2017) gave Sunny Hostin a phone call over the latter’s statements on “The View” about the alleged Cornell University sexual assault. Penske Media via Getty ImagesThe co-host told “Behind the Table” podcast listeners Monday that the actress is a “good friend” — and didn’t think the viral clip “reflect[ed] who” Hostin is. the View/ YoutubeErivo, 39, pointed out that she and Hostin, 57, are both “blunt” people but that the latter needs “to learn to give people her opinion in a way that they can receive it rather than just be blunt.”The actress, who has “spent a lot of time” with the lawyer as they were “both in the same sorority,” advised Hostin to “lead with empathy … instead of leading with the law” so that “people can be [open to] receiving the message about the law.”Hostin added that her “good friend” made the phone call from Paris, where she is “working on a movie about consent and sexual assault.”“I know you and I know your heart and your life’s work has been about protecting women and children,” the Tony winner (pictured above on Oct. 4) said. ABC via Getty ImagesShe stated, “Those are two different things.”Hostin, therefore, called it her “job, in a sense,” to “apply the facts as [she] know[s] them to the law” — especially since her fellow co-hosts had spoken “emotionally” about the topic. She pointed out that she did “speak about the moral issue” later in the episode once she was “comfortable” having given her legal perspective. If you or someone you know is affected by any of the issues raised in this story, call the Sexual Assault Hotline at 1-800-330-0226. Gabby Windey Broke Her Back After Turning Up This Fitness Device New

Gabby Windey Broke Her Back After Turning Up This Fitness Device

Published 19:41 6 Oct 2026 GMT+1Gabby Windy revealed her struggles with 'tormenting' symptoms after the injuryGabby Windey, The Bachelorette alum, has revealed she broke her back while using a vibration plate in a new way. Fitness trends come and go, but vibration plates have been sticking around longer than most. Now, if you don’t know what one is, it’s a vibrating plate a user stands on, and it vibrates their body. According to GoodRx, vibration plates can aid with bone density, muscle building, balance enhancing, and more via forcing micro-contractions in the body due to the vibrations. AdvertThere are also some research to suggest it also can help with blood circulation. However, despite being part of Gabby’s morning routine, just one wrong decision led her to break her back. After the injury, she described an ‘insatiable’ tingling and pins and needles feeling. Gabby Windey admitted to breaking her back (Photo by Neilson Barnard/Getty Images)Revealing the accident in a Substack article published on October 2, she wrote: "Most mornings, I vibrate. On a plate. The cheeks of my ass convulse side to side, like a seizure. “The vibration plate is designed to rid stagnant lymph fluid, by shaking up the turgid and sallow with probable microplastics, from my rotting carcass." However, when she set her machine one day to ‘level 30, supersonic speed,’ it all went wrong. Gabby wrote: "Seemingly, subtly, somewhere on the way to 30, maybe 10 or 20, my vertebrae turn crooked and rub against each other.” The 35-year-old added: "A small piece breaks off from friction. It catches air. Then it lands softly, too softly, so softly the landing’s in question." "It was too fast vibrations I guess, and too many vibrations maybe, and too much pressure to shake," she continued. "And it broke. Broke right off, like your ex-boyfriend’s bumper. Well, technically, it cracked." She went on to call her persistent tingling ‘the strangest feeling’, and dubbed it ‘ineffable.’ Gabby wrote: “If I had to pick one word to describe this tickle of this nerve, it’s tormenting. No. Maybe tantalizing. No, titillating. Yes, titillating! "This is the greatest sense of condemnation; of persecution, I’ll ever feel. And I do wish it on my worst enemy If only they hadn’t wished it on me first." She claimed it was due to a vibration plate (Getty Stock Images)Now, the Traitors winner is a self-proclaimed ‘bad backer.’ According to a 2014 study, which aimed to work out just how safe these devices are, ‘vibration is a known to cause both acute and chronic injury to a range of physiologic systems, including musculoskeletal, circulatory and nervous.’ It added that ‘several Whole Body Vibration devices far exceed what is considered safe for even brief exposure to the healthy standing human’, noting: “Caution must be employed when considering the use of Whole Body Vibration, particularly in the case of the elderly or infirm.” It concluded: “It is recommended that only those WBV devices which conform to ISO-2631 guidelines and exposure limits are utilized.” Featured Image Credit: TheStewartofNY/GC ImagesTopics: Celebrity, Health, Fitness

She was first featured on the live NBC-TV show “Campus Hoopla” in 1946, before starring in a 1949 Life magazine feature article about life as a struggling actor earning little while trying to make ends meet in New York. At the same time, she was racking up theater credits. In the 1950s, she earned Emmy nominations for her roles in Paddy Chayefsky’s “Middle of the Night” and a television musical version of “Our Town,” which also featured Frank Sinatra and Paul Newman. She (seen here in the 1954 movie “On the Waterfront”) got her start on the New York stage and live television. The couple — who also shared daughter Laurette — was married for 65 years until Hayden died in 2016. “If you ever see footage of me — when they announce my name — you can see me pause and wait a moment,” she shared in a 2010 interview about winning the Oscar. “Jeff had his thumb on my thigh; I couldn’t get up. So I slowly walked up and said something like, ‘I’m so excited I might have the baby right here.'”She ultimately gave birth two days after accepting her award. She later called Brando (seen here together in 1954) “probably the finest actor I’ve ever worked with.” Corbis via Getty ImagesSaint won the Oscar for Best Supporting Actress in 1955 for “On the Waterfront” (as seen here). Bettmann ArchiveDuring the same interview, she recalled the intense auditioning process for the role, where they asked her how much she “weighed, [her] height and [her] bust size.”“And I thought, “This is silly. This is not for me. I want to stay in the theater. Which I think I certainly would have had we stayed in New York,” she explained before reminiscing about meeting Brando and improvising a scene together.“He put the radio on, and we started dancing,” she said. “He did something to flip my skirt, and I was so embarrassed I cried a little bit afterward. It was too much; it was all too much. But Kazan saw the chemistry, and he could see that it could work for the movie.”Saint went on to gush about Brando, calling him “wonderful” and “probably the finest actor I’ve ever worked with.”Saint, who was pregnant when she won, shared two children with her husband, Jeffrey Hayden (seen all together in 1957). She reunited with her “On the Waterfront” co-star Karl Malden in the television movie “Fatal Vision” and was featured in a recurring role as Cybill Shepherd’s mother on “Moonlighting.”Later roles included a part in 2005’s “Because of Winn-Dixie” (as seen here). ©20thCentFox/Courtesy Everett CollectionSaint delighted movie fans when she presented the award for Best Costume Design at the 90th Oscars in 2018 (as seen here). Why Two Officers Who Tasered 92-Year-Old Donald Burgess Were Sacked New

Why Two Officers Who Tasered 92-Year-Old Donald Burgess Were Sacked

Published 21:47 6 Oct 2026 GMT+1PCs Stephen Smith and Rachel Comotto used inappropriate force when dealing with the 92-year-old Two police officers who used a Taser, baton and synthetic pepper spray on a 92-year-old amputee have been sacked.PCs Stephen Smith and Rachel Comotto responded to a call at a care home in St Leonards, East Sussex, on June 21 2022, following a report of resident Donald Burgess holding a knife and threatening to stab staff.Police bodycam footage showed the two officers entering a room where Donald, who was in a wheelchair due to having an amputated leg, had been isolated. The 92-year-old was holding a cutlery knife as the PCs approached him.AdvertThe Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) said that within a minute-and-a-half of them entering the room, both officers used force on Donald.PC Smith was seen using Pava spray in the elderly man’s face and struck the arm holding the knife with a baton.PC Stephen Smith and his colleague PC Rachel Comotto have been fired (Lucy North/PA Wire)PC Comotto then used a Taser on Donald. In a ruling on Tuesday (6 October), the IOPC said both officers used ‘excessive force’ on Donald.Following the incident, PC Comotto was also found to have shared an inappropriate comment about it on Facebook. The misconduct hearing was told PC Comotto received a Facebook comment that read: “Happy birthday, the care home is getting closer and closer” with wink and laugh emojis. To which she replied: “We all know what happens in care homes,” adding with a lightning bolt emoji. On PC Comotto accepted writing the comment on the day of the incident. After the two officers used inappropriate force against him, Donald was taken to hospital and later contracted Covid-19.He died 22 days later, aged 93.Sussex Police said the evidence did not indicate the officers’ actions caused or contributed to the death.PC Rachel Comotto also admitted to making an inappropriate comment on Facebook (Lucy North/PA Wire)PC Smith and PC Comotto were cleared of assault after a Southwark Crown Court trial in May 2025, but were dismissed without notice on Tuesday, the IOPC said. They will also be put on the College of Policing’s barred list, banning them from working in policing.IOPC director of engagement Emily Barry said: “We know that footage of this incident showing the force used by the officers on Mr Burgess has caused widespread concern and anger.“This was not a fast-paced incident where the officers or other care home residents were in immediate danger.“Mr Burgess, who was wheelchair-bound and holding a cutlery knife, was isolated from other residents and clearly posed little risk to the officers. The Independent Office for Police Conduct said the pair used 'excessive force' (IOPC/PA Wire)“Any use of force should have been a last resort and only used when necessary.“Rather than de-escalating the situation they immediately threatened Mr Burgess with force and then discharged Pava spray, struck him with a baton and tasered him when he didn’t drop the knife.“Their actions were clearly excessive and unreasonable, and PC Comotto then displayed further poor judgment by joking about tasering Mr Burgess on social media afterwards.“Their actions have damaged the public’s trust and confidence in policing and they have been held accountable and dismissed from policing.”Donald’s family said they welcomed the decision, but their solicitor has asked for the inquest into his death to be resumed, saying there are unanswered questions about the force used by the officers and the actions of the care home.“We remain concerned that opportunities to de-escalate the situation were missed, including the fact that family members who lived nearby were not contacted by the staff at Park Beck nursing home before the police were called,” the family said.“Donald was a much-loved family man. We want him to be remembered for the life he lived, not simply for the events that brought us to this point.”Featured Image Credit: Family Handout/PA WireTopics: UK News, Crime
