Brooklyn Artist Eujue Goes Viral With Living NYC Subway Tile New

Brooklyn Artist Eujue Goes Viral With Living NYC Subway Tile

See more of our coverage in your search results. Cracks aren’t wack. The MTA is more than a transit system for New Yorkers — it’s a lifeline that keeps the city going. But with over 8 million residents and riders, things are bound to break. Now, one Brooklyn artist has uncovered a way to turn at least one of the system’s structural flaws into art — a cracked tile at a time. Eujue, no last name, recently went viral on social media with a post that snagged over a million views — showing her replacing a broken “E” tile at Delancey St.-Essex St. station, on Manhattan’s Lower East Side. Eujue is an artist replacing missing subway tiles with art in New York City @eu.pottery/TikTokThe tile wasn’t restored with the boring black text. Instead, Eujue exchanged it with her own live creation — a ceramic square where the “E” is made with living chia plants. Eujue told The Post she got the idea after remembering a poem she read back in college — All Watched Over by Machines of Loving Grace, by Richard Brautigan. “This speculative world described a future where plants, animals, and technology coexisted in harmony. This pushed me to want to build speculative objects that existed in a post apocalyptic future; a world where plants reclaim spaces that were once theirs,” the nature-loving New Yorker told The Post.Brooklyn artist, Eujue, aims to make everyday places feel more cared for and connected @eu.pottery/TikTokThe Brooklynite doesn’t want missing tiles to be seen as a maintenance problem anymore. She encouraged artists to be inspired by this moment to “shape the city around them.”“NYC has always been a place where artists shape the city’s culture, and I hope our public spaces can reflect that. I’d love to make the everyday places we move through feel more cared for and more connected to the people who live here,” she said.Delancey St. was just the beginning. Eujue made the ceramic E tile with chia seeds which grew into plants @eu.pottery/TikTokEujue and her brother built NYC Tile Watch — a website where New Yorkers can report missing or damaged subway tiles. The site was created so routine subway upkeep and public art could coexist. Once a report is made, local artists can fix the broken tiles by turning them into their own creation, bringing life into the dingy subway stations. The movement is gaining traction — even catching the attention of Mayor Mamdani. Eujue said she is currently in conversations with the Mayor’s team and the MTA — about how NYC Tile Watch could potentially develop into a formal program. As of today, the Korean-American said that her site has accumulated 24 approved reports. Subway riders can fill out a public interest form which will help gauge local artist interest in NYC Tile Watch website.“The missing “E” tile was a small change, but it made me think about how many overlooked spaces we pass by everyday,” the artist. The widely-shared TikTok that made Eujue famous already has thousands of comments supporting and celebrating her movement — and making her a bit of a superstar on her socials. In just a week, Eujue has gained thousands of likes, a plethora of new followers and become a local “subway hero.”The Brooklyn artist built the NYC Tile Watch website where locals can report damaged tiles @eu.pottery/TikTok“This is NYC. Art moves our city I love it, it’s soooo NYC,” one user gushed.Another chimed in, offering to do what New Yorkers do best — help. “What if we New Yorkers pitch in watering them too! That way they live a little longer,” they said. For Eujue, it’s just the beginning. The Gothamite told The Post she’s working hard to make sure New Yorkers and visitors feel a kinship to the space that surrounds them. “I’d love to make the everyday places we move through feel more cared for and more connected to the people who live here,” she said.

9 Subtle Ways Fear of Disappointing People Shapes Your Decisions New

9 Subtle Ways Fear of Disappointing People Shapes Your Decisions

1. You answer before checking what you actually wantA request arrives, and “yes” escapes before you consider your time, energy or preference. The immediate answer reduces the discomfort of possibly letting someone down, but it can create resentment later. Try replacing instant agreement with a neutral pause: “Let me check and get back to you.” That small delay is not selfish or evasive. It gives your honest response a chance to exist before someone else’s expectations take over.2. You treat other people’s moods as your responsibilityWhen someone seems quiet, irritated or disappointed, you may rush to fix the atmosphere—even when you did nothing wrong. You soften your opinion, offer extra help or abandon a boundary to restore harmony. This matters because another person’s temporary discomfort can become more important than your own needs. Before intervening, ask yourself: “Did they tell me this is about me?” A mood is information, not automatically an assignment.3. You overexplain choices that require no defenseA simple decision becomes a detailed case: why you cannot attend, why you changed plans, why you need rest. Overexplaining often attempts to prevent judgment by making your choice impossible to criticize. Yet the more reasons you provide, the more your decision can sound negotiable. Practice offering one clear sentence instead: “I won’t be able to make it.” Kindness can shape your tone, but you do not need a courtroom argument for every boundary.4. You choose the safest version of your ambitionFear of disappointing people does not only affect small favors; it can quietly edit your future. You may avoid changing careers, moving away or pursuing creative work because someone prefers the familiar version of you. Their concern may be sincere, but it is still their perspective. Separate useful practical feedback from emotional pressure. A decision can worry people who love you and still be thoughtful, responsible and right for your life.5. You confuse being needed with being valuedBeing the dependable one can feel reassuring. People call, rely on you and praise your willingness to help. But constant usefulness is not the same as mutual care. Notice what happens when you are unavailable, tired or in need yourself. Healthy connection can survive your limits; it does not require endless service. Try allowing someone else to solve a manageable problem instead of automatically stepping in. Their independence does not reduce your importance.6. You hide preferences to avoid creating frictionYou say you do not mind where to eat, what to watch or how the weekend is planned—even when you do have a preference. These moments look insignificant, but repeatedly disappearing from shared decisions can make relationships feel strangely lonely. Start with low-stakes honesty: suggest the restaurant, name the movie or say which date works better. Expressing a preference is not controlling others; it simply lets them interact with the real you.7. You apologize whenever you take up spaceSome apologies are necessary, but others function like permission slips for existing. You may say sorry before asking a question, expressing a need, disagreeing or requesting basic consideration. This can reinforce the idea that your presence is an inconvenience. Listen for apologies that do not involve actual harm, then replace them with clearer language. “Thank you for waiting” often works better than “Sorry I’m such a problem.” Reserve apologies for repair, not self-erasure.8. You stay agreeable until resentment finally eruptsAvoiding disappointment can preserve peace in the moment while quietly building anger underneath. You keep accommodating, insist everything is fine and then feel furious over one seemingly minor request. The final reaction may surprise everyone, including you, because the real issue is accumulated self-abandonment. Address discomfort while it is still small. A calm “I can help today, but not every week” protects the relationship more effectively than silent compliance followed by an explosion.9. You measure good decisions by everyone’s approvalA thoughtful choice can still disappoint someone. If unanimous approval is your standard, almost every meaningful decision will feel wrong. Different people benefit from different versions of you, so their reactions cannot serve as a perfect moral compass. Judge your choice by stronger questions: Is it honest? Is it respectful? Can I accept the consequences? Approval may feel comforting, but integrity is more dependable. Adulthood often means tolerating misunderstanding without treating it as proof of failure.

How Air Force One Child Star Liesel Matthews Became a Billionaire New

How Air Force One Child Star Liesel Matthews Became a Billionaire

Published 16:53 3 Oct 2026 GMT+1Liesel Matthews, who starred opposite Harrison Ford in the film, is now the 2017th richest person in the world according to Forbes Air Force One has an absolutely stacked cast for a film in which Harrison Ford plays a president trapped in a Die Hard style situation on a plane, but it’s fair to say that he isn’t even close to the wealthiest member of that cast.Ford is joined by Gary Oldman, Glenn Close, and William H Macy, but none of them come close to the net worth of child star Liesel Matthews, who is now known as Liesel Pritzker Simmons.Simmons is, according to Forbes at the time of writing, worth a whopping $2.1 billion which puts her in the very upper echelons of former actors.Unlike some of the highest paid actors like Robert Downey Jr and Tom Cruise however, her money comes nearly entirely from moves she made after leaving Hollywood in 2000.AdvertInitially however, the biggest bump in her net worth came when she sadly ended up having to sue her own family over them mismanaging her earnings.Simmons sued her family for $6 billion, earning $500 million, after they mismanaged her wealth before she turned 18She starred in Air Force One as the daughter of Harrison Ford's character, and is now worth substantially more than him (Columbia Pictures)Simmons was a very successful child star considering she only appeared in three films, starring as Ford’s daughter Alice Marshall in Air Force One, but also appearing in A Little Princess and Blast. That said, her earnings for appearing in those three films did not quite equal the $500 million fortune she ended up winning when she sued her father and wider family.Simmons is the daughter of Robert Pritzker, a member of the uber-wealthy Pritzker family whose fortune comes from founding the Hyatt Hotels Corporation. In 1989 Robert and Simmon’s mother Irene became divorced, leading to her and her brother Matthew becoming the subject of arguments over custody between her parents.Ultimately Irene won custody of them both, but her father reportedly invested her and Matthew’s trust funds into the family’s corporation. When the family chose to split up this money she and Matthew were left out, leading them to sue her father, uncle, and cousins, for $6 billion, with her and her brother earning half a billion each from the settlement.Simmons moved to India after winning the payout to go where ‘no one knew her’, but later returned to the US and founded a billion-dollar businessSimmons is now a prominent name in the venture capital world (Vaughn Ridley/Sportsfile via Getty Images)Speaking to Forbes about her experience of winning the lawsuit, which took place when she was a student at Columbia university, she said she had initially planned to be an actor in New York. She ended up preferring her classes on African studies however and, when the high profile lawsuit went through, needed to get away from the notoriety. She explained that she moved to Dharamshala in India, saying: “When you go someplace where you're completely foreign to anybody, you're just there.“You're seen for who you are and not for all of the Googling behind you, so to speak.”She joked that she knew she was a ‘cliché’ because she volunteered and taught yoga to rehabilitate drug addicts.Matthews in 1995 and 2024 (Steve Liss/Getty Images / YouTube)Her experience of witnessing poverty firsthand in both India and later Tanzania led her to become involved in ‘impact investing’, a form of investment where financiers aim to make positive social change whilst still profiting themselves. She set up the venture capital fund ‘Blue Haven Initiative’ with her husband, with whom she shares two daughters, which invests in iniatives such as one that takes dried out human fecal matter and turns it into burnable fuel, as well as general investment in climate and clean energy infrastructure. Now worth $2.1 billion and the 2017th richest person in the world, she told Forbes: “I didn't earn this money and I'll be damned if I'm going to screw it up!”Featured Image Credit: Ron Galella, Ltd./Ron Galella Collection via Getty ImagesTopics: Celebrity, Celebrity Net Worth, Money, Nostalgia, TV and Film

9 Signs You’re Over-Explaining to Feel Safe, Not Understood New

9 Signs You’re Over-Explaining to Feel Safe, Not Understood

1. You answer questions nobody actually asked youA simple question receives your entire backstory because you are trying to prevent every possible misunderstanding. Someone asks why you declined an invitation, and you describe your schedule, energy level, family obligations and intentions toward the friendship.Extra context can be thoughtful, but notice when it becomes a defense. Try answering only the question asked: “I can’t make it tonight, but thank you for inviting me.” Let the other person request more information if they genuinely need it.2. You treat ordinary boundaries like courtroom argumentsWhen saying no feels risky, you may build a case so airtight that nobody can challenge it. You gather evidence, anticipate objections and explain why your boundary is objectively reasonable. Yet boundaries do not require unanimous approval to be valid.Instead of proving that you deserve rest, privacy or distance, state the limit clearly and kindly. “I’m not available this weekend” is complete. A respectful person may feel disappointed, but they will not require a closing argument.3. You keep talking after your point landsYou make a clear point, the other person nods, and then you continue. The additional sentences may not improve understanding; they may be attempts to relieve the discomfort of silence. Unfortunately, talking past the moment can weaken a message that was already effective.Practice stopping one sentence earlier than feels natural. Take a breath and allow the listener to respond. Silence is not automatic evidence of anger, confusion or rejection. Sometimes it simply means someone is thinking.4. You rewrite messages until they cannot offend anyoneCareful communication is useful, but endless editing often serves an impossible goal: controlling how every word will be received. You soften requests, add disclaimers and reread harmless messages for hidden sharpness. The result can be exhausting and less clear than your original thought. Before sending, ask whether the message is accurate, respectful and necessary. If it meets those standards, let it go. You are responsible for communicating with care, not for eliminating every interpretation another person might create.5. You explain your feelings before allowing yourself to feel themInstead of saying, “That hurt,” you immediately present the reasons your reaction is logical. This can turn an emotional experience into a debate about whether you are entitled to have it. Feelings do not become real only after they pass an intellectual test.Name the emotion first, then decide whether context is useful. “I felt excluded when plans changed without me” is both honest and specific. You can examine the situation without arguing yourself out of your initial response.6. You add apologies to perfectly reasonable requestsOver-explaining often travels with unnecessary apologies: “Sorry to bother you, and I completely understand if not, but could you send the file?” Politeness matters, yet repeated apologies can frame normal needs as burdens before anyone objects.Replace automatic remorse with appreciation or directness. Try, “Could you send the file by Thursday? Thanks for your help.” Save apologies for moments when you caused harm, broke an agreement or created avoidable inconvenience. That makes a sincere apology more meaningful.7. You panic when someone misunderstands your intentionsBeing misunderstood is uncomfortable, especially when fairness and connection matter deeply to you. But rushing to send paragraphs of clarification can intensify a minor disagreement. It may also shift your focus from listening to managing the other person’s opinion of you.Clarify once in plain language, then ask what they heard or need. If they remain committed to the worst interpretation despite reasonable context, more explanation may not help. Mutual understanding requires participation from both people, not endless labor from one.8. You confuse being understood with being approvedSometimes the other person understands your decision perfectly and simply dislikes it. This distinction matters. If you assume disagreement means poor communication, you may keep explaining until you receive approval that was never available.Ask yourself, “Do they lack information, or do they want a different answer?” If the facts are clear, repetition will probably create frustration rather than agreement. You can acknowledge their reaction without reversing yourself: “I understand this is disappointing, but my decision remains the same.”9. You feel responsible for everyone’s emotional reactionThe deepest driver of over-explaining is often the belief that careful wording can prevent another person from feeling upset. Communication can reduce unnecessary harm, but it cannot guarantee comfort. Honest limits, changed plans and difficult truths may still disappoint someone.Aim for clarity, empathy and accountability rather than total emotional control. You can say, “I know this affects you, and I’m sorry it’s difficult,” without taking ownership of every feeling that follows. Respecting others also means trusting them to process their own reactions.

Updated 13:38 3 Oct 2026 GMT+1Published 11:58 30 Aug 2025 GMT+1Bruce Willis was diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia in 2023Hyperphagia, fixations on certain types of food and eating inanimate objects could be a sign that you're at risk of developing frontotemporal dementia (FTD). An uncommon form of the disease, FTD has become more widely known in recent years due to actor Bruce Willis' diagnosis. Following the Die Hard actor's retirement from the entertainment industry in 2022, he was diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia (FTD), a form of the disease which impacts a person's behaviour and language. While Willis himself now lives outside of the public eye, his wife, Emma Heming Willis, and adult daughters have provided updates on his life and condition. What is frontotemporal dementia (FTD) – and how does it change your eating habits? According to the NHS, it causes a range of symptoms, such as personality and behaviour changes, which could be acting inappropriately or impulsively, appearing selfish or unsympathetic, neglecting personal hygiene, overeating, or loss of motivation.AdvertBruce Willis was diagnosed with dementia in 2023 (Selcuk Acar/Anadolu via Getty Image)They might develop language problems such as speaking slowly, struggling to make the right sounds when saying a word, getting words in the wrong order, or using words incorrectly. They could have problems with mental abilities, or memory problems, or even physical issues. These things can make it hard to function and complete daily tasks. But experts say that the way a person eats can also be an indicator of the disease, particularly when it lines up with 'obsessive and repetitive behaviours’ that can occur in those suffering. For example, patients may eat non-food items (PICA), eat only one food, or steal food from others.Of course, PICA - a condition where people will eat non-food items, which might be caused by vitamin deficiencies - in itself, isn’t a sign of dementia. However, if it’s being seen alongside other worrying symptoms, it could be part of the condition.Experts say FTD can cause different eating habits (Getty Stock Images)“Frontotemporal dementia is associated with a wide variety of abnormal eating behaviours such as hyperphagia (insatiable hunger), fixations on one kind of food, even ingestion of inanimate objects,” a paper on the topic claimed.“These behaviours are problematic, of course, socially, but also with regard to patients’ health as they tend to gain weight,” said Dr Marilena Aiello, a neuroscientist who was involved in a systemic review of FTD.She added: “Even if individual consequences are different.”However, ‘some people lose weight because they eat a narrow range of foods in an obsessive way’.As for this reason behind this, nobody is quite sure, but it is ‘likely due to many factors’.“It may involve an alteration of the autonomic nervous system, characterised by an altered assessment of the body’s signals, such as hunger, satiety, and appetite. Damage to the hypothalamus can cause a loss of inhibitory signals, causing behaviours such as overeating,” the researcher said. But ‘there are probably sensory and cognitive factors that can complicate the picture... In patients who eat objects, for example, there is perhaps a semantic problem of recognising the object of and its function’.Emma Heming Willis speaks often about her husband's condition and her role as a carer (Jamie McCarthy/Getty Images)Bruce Willis has been suffering from the condition since 2023.His wife, Emma Heming Willis, opened up in an ABC special, sharing the celebrity's ongoing journey with dementia. The Die Hard, The Sixth Sense, and Pulp Fiction actor, retired in 2022 due to his declining health and aphasia diagnosis. She wrote online at the time: "We are moving through this as a strong family unit, and wanted to bring his fans in because we know how much he means to you, as you do to him."As Bruce always says, 'Live it up' and together we plan to do just that."In February of 2023, Rumer Willis, Bruce’s daughter, shared that his aphasia had progressed to frontotemporal dementia. She said in this statement: “Unfortunately, challenges with communication are just one symptom of the disease Bruce faces.“While this is painful, it is a relief to finally have a clear diagnosis.”Bruce Willis is supported by his wife, Emma, as well as ex-wife Demi Moore and their daughters (Stefanie Keenan/Getty Images for goop)Having given regular updates on his life, condition and decline, Emma previously spoke about his condition with ABC, saying: “Bruce is in really great health overall, you know. It's just his brain that is failing him.“The language is going, and, you know, we've learned to adapt. We have a way of communicating with him, which is just a different, a different way."Last year, she made the heartbreaking decision to move her husband into a second home so that he could have the care he needs.Calling it the 'hardest decision I've had to make', it’ll allow him to get around-the-clock care from professionals.Featured Image Credit: (Rich Fury/Getty Images)Topics: Health, Bruce Willis, Food And Drink

Të vetmin aktor që kam marrë nga ata të mitë, ishte Albano Bogdo.Unë ndaj sytë, shpirtin, zemrën me ta. Unë jam drejtori, regjisori, aktori, kolegu i tyre. Këtu kur erdha, unë erdha me këto atribute. Drejtori i Portokallisë. Top Channel
