Tihomir Stanić privukao pažnju oštrom prognozom izbornog poraza SNS-a

Luizi: Burri i KiarësAlketa: Ashtu i thua? Taylor Brown Sparks Reactions With Blunt Drew Campbell ‘Lapdog’ Remark

“Big Brother 28” runner-up Taylor Brown is celebrating that third-place finisher Drew Campbell got evicted by his closest ally, “Survivor 38” alum Rick Devens, during the dramatic finale.“It just proved that Drew is nothing but a lapdog to the ‘Icons,’ like he’s been for 87 days and like he will continue to be,” Brown, 28, exclusively told Page Six.Brown said that all season long, the “Icons” — Devens, “Survivor 45” winner Dee Valladares and “Big Brother 26” alum Angela Murray — “literally had [Campbell] on a leash, and if they asked him to bark, he would ask how loud.”“Big Brother 28” runner-up Taylor Brown (seen above) called third-place finisher Drew Campbell a “lapdog” to the “Icons” after the finale. Page SixBrown (seen above with Campbell and winner Rick Devens) said Devens and the other “Icons” had Campbell “on a leash” all season. CBS via Getty Images“So I’m not surprised,” she added of Campbell’s eviction. “Drew did what we knew Drew would do. And that’s why Devens sent him out the door.”Campbell, 22, was closely aligned with the “Icons” instead of the other newbies on “Big Brother 28.” But during Thursday’s live finale, Devens, 42, decided to cut Campbell and take Brown to the end, leaving the surgical dental assistant in tears when he left the house.Still, Campbell, and five other jurors, voted for Devens to win the $750,000 grand prize. Brown, meanwhile, only got LaTrice Verrett’s vote and came in second place, taking home $75,000.Brown (seen above with Campbell) added: “Drew did what we knew Drew would do. And that’s why Devens sent him out the door.” CBSDevens beat Brown (seen here with Campbell) in the final two after he evicted Campbell during Thursday’s night finale. Matthew Taplinger/CBSThe elementary school counselor, who was on the block six times this season, told Page Six she thinks the jury misunderstood her gameplay.“I think maybe if they watch the show back, if they see a little bit of the live feeds, that they would definitely see that I was in a position where I couldn’t win,” she explained. “I couldn’t get in on any alliances. I couldn’t form bonds that I can trust and continue to move forward with.”Brown continued, “It felt like my game just constantly fell apart every time I tried to be more aggressive, more vocal, more active. So that’s why I did my pod thing and it worked for me. I was able not to wear a mic and I could kind of talk things out and process things out.”Brown (seen here) said she thinks the jury will understand her gameplay better if they watch the season back. CBS“It just felt like my game just constantly fell apart every time I tried to be more aggressive, more vocal, more active,” the elementary school counselor (pictured above) told Page Six. CBSAdditionally, Brown doubled down on her argument to the jury that Devens and the other “Icons” had an unfair advantage in the game.“They came into this house with people in awe of them,” she said. “They came in with a fan base, which means they were more likely to be voted to get these powers.”Brown added, “And because of that, that is the definition of elitism, power and privilege.” Community GuidelinesWelcome to the Page Six Community! Our community is about connecting people through open and thoughtful conversations. Why First-Time Buyers in NYC May Need 65 Years to Save New

Why First-Time Buyers in NYC May Need 65 Years to Save

See more of our coverage in your search results. New Yorkers hoping to buy their first home may need to start saving decades before they get the keys.New York City is the hardest major market in America for first-time buyers to scrape together a down payment, with a typical household needing a staggering 65.2 years to save enough, according to a new analysis from Rocket. The median first-time buyer in the Big Apple puts down $265,000 — a 30% of the $883,333 purchase price, the analysis found. At a 5% savings rate, a typical NYC household would need 65.2 years to save the amount needed. Getty ImagesThat puts New York well ahead of even notoriously expensive California markets. In San Francisco, a typical household would need 57.2 years to save the median $400,000 down payment, equivalent to roughly 27% of a $1.5 million purchase.Los Angeles came in third, requiring 41.5 years to accumulate its $170,500 median down payment on an $852,500 home.Boston followed at 37.8 years, with first-time buyers typically putting $185,000 down, while Anaheim and San Jose, both in pricey California, tied at 33.6 years. First-time buyers in San Jose put down a median $249,000 on a roughly $1.1 million purchase. The calculation assumes a household saves 5% of its income every year. Rocket combined 2024 Census household-income data with down payments made by its first-time buyer mortgage customers between May 2025 and May 2026.Boston first-time buyers need 37.8 years to save the typical $185,000 down payment. Getty ImagesThat means the eye-popping 65-year figure isn’t how long New Yorkers actually spend saving. Rather, it illustrates just how far the typical household’s income is from the amount first-time buyers are putting down in the city.In New York, the median household income used in the analysis was $81,228, meaning saving 5% annually would amount to just over $4,000 a year. The picture changes dramatically hundreds of miles west.In Warren, Michigan, the median first-time buyer puts down just $8,797, or 5% of the $175,940 purchase price. A typical household could theoretically save that amount in only 3.1 years.Nearby Detroit was second-fastest at 3.9 years, where buyers put down a median $7,600 — also about 5% — on a $152,000 home.Detroit first-time buyers need just 3.9 years to save the typical $7,600 down payment. Getty ImagesVirginia Beach and Fort Worth followed at 4.3 years each, while Indianapolis and Milwaukee both came in at roughly 4.4 years. The vast divide isn’t solely the result of coastal homes costing more. Buyers in expensive markets are also putting a much larger share of the purchase price down.In New York, first-timers put down a median 30%, six times the 5% share seen in Detroit and Warren.New York’s notoriously demanding co-op market may help explain the difference. Many co-op and condo buildings require buyers to put 20% to 30% down, according to Redfin agent Jason Warner.“The price point is so much higher in New York City than it is in most of the country,” Warner said in Rocket’s report. He said the hurdle has changed the profile of the city’s first-time buyer.“Since it takes a bit longer for first-time home buyers to save here, I’m now often helping mid-career professionals in their late 30s and early 40s to buy their first home after decades of renting,” Warner said.Down-payment timelines vary wildly across the US. Getty ImagesAnd bringing more cash to the table can matter beyond simply satisfying a lender or building. With inventory tight and sellers weighing which deals are most likely to make it to closing, a hefty down payment can make an offer appear stronger, Warner said. The findings come as first-time buyers nationwide continue to face a daunting affordability equation. The typical US homebuyer put down $64,000, or 15% of the purchase price, in March, according to a separate Redfin analysis. That’s roughly double the dollar amount buyers were putting down before the pandemic, largely because home prices have soared. And despite some recent improvement in affordability, the typical American household still earns substantially less than what’s needed to comfortably buy a home.Redfin estimated in June that a household needed to make about $109,800 a year to afford the typical US home, compared with an estimated median household income of about $87,600.NYC first-time buyers put down a median $265,000, or 30% of the purchase price. Getty ImagesFor New Yorkers, the gap is even wider: Redfin estimates a buyer needs to earn roughly $233,000 to afford a typical home in the metro, while its estimated median household income is about $98,000.For would-be buyers who don’t have decades to wait, family assistance has increasingly become part of the equation.Rocket’s analysis cited a Redfin survey finding that nearly a quarter of young recent homebuyers had used family money toward their down payment.Others are widening their searches or adjusting their expectations. But for buyers determined to stay in New York, the numbers illustrate the extraordinary amount of cash it can take just to get through the front door.

Donald Trump sparks reactions after revising his controversial favorite word New

Donald Trump sparks reactions after revising his controversial favorite word

Published 17:42 2 Oct 2026 GMT+1The president has had to reconsider is 'favorite' wordDonald Trump has revealed a fresh list of his 'favorite words' after claiming he 'suffered' for his previous pick. The president is no stranger to going off script.Whether he's delivering a speech, taking questions from reporters or addressing his supporters, the president has developed a reputation for veering away from prepared remarks. His speeches can therefore offer plenty of material for anyone keeping track of the words and phrases he seems particularly fond of.AdvertBut it seems he landed himself in hot water after declaring that 'tariff' was his 'favorite word' some months ago, in a move which seemingly angered both Republicans and Democrats - for slightly different reasons.Speaking at the White House, Trump said: "Another one of my favorite words is the word tariff. I used to say it's my favorite word. They said, what about God? What about religion? What about family and your wife, your children? So now I make it my fifth favorite word."Trump has reconsidered his infamous 'favorite' word. (Chip Somodevilla/Getty Images)"I suffered for that one," the president added. And users online were quick to weigh in."Still wild people take this seriously," one wrote. As another added: "He just listed 5 other words, so it would have to be his 6th favorite word. To be fair, based on his history, 'wife' is probably not anywhere near the top 5."One branded him 'cringe', as another said: "He's so freaking weird."Trump’s tariffs have proved controversial, with supporters arguing they protect American industries and strengthen the US’s position in trade negotiations, while critics warn they can drive up prices, disrupt supply chains and trigger retaliatory measures from other countries. It seems the president has more than one favourite word. (Kevin Dietsch/Getty Images)But this isn't the first time Trump has revealed some of his personal 'favorites'.A 2015 interview saw the president give a particularly unusual answer when asked to name his favorite passage from the Bible.Calling the Bible something that ‘means a lot to me,’ he seemed to struggle with the question, and ultimately refused to answer, telling the hosts that he ‘wouldn't want to get into it because to me that's very personal’, and he didn’t want ‘to get into specifics’.Then, when asked if he is ‘an Old Testament guy or a New Testament guy’, he said: “Uh, probably equal. I think it’s just an incredible….the whole Bible is an incredible..."Trump went on to call his 1987 book The Art of the Deal his ‘second favorite book of all time’ after the Bible.Featured Image Credit: Finn Gomez/Getty ImagesTopics: Donald Trump, Politics, US News

Ritchie Wood Refuses to Leave Home in Universal Theme Park’s Path New

Ritchie Wood Refuses to Leave Home in Universal Theme Park’s Path

Updated 18:39 2 Oct 2026 GMT+1Published 17:18 2 Oct 2026 GMT+1He says he feels like he is living on 'borrowed time' and is facing homelessnessA man is fighting to remain on a street which has been marked for demolition to make way for the new Universal theme park.Ritchie Wood has decided to wait until the last minute to move out of his home on Manor Road in Kempston Hardwick in the UK, where 12 homes have been marked for demolition. The demolitions will make way for the new Universal United Kingdom Resort.Of the 12 homes on the road, six have been vacated and five have reportedly been sold to Universal under non-disclosure agreements, it is understood.AdvertRitchie has rented the cottage for 11 years, and was served an eviction notice in 2026, before taking the case to court, where the landlord was able to obtain a possession notice, leaving Ritchie waiting for bailiffs to turn up."I've lived here for 11 years - this is my home and I have a life here," said Ritchie, who lives near to his elderly parents who are around six miles away.Ritchie says he is facing homelessness (SWNS)"My parents are in their 80s and they live five minutes down the road. I want to stay close to them but I could end up anywhere," he explained. He opened up about seeing his neighbours moving away one by on."It's been really hard to watch almost everyone move out of this street," he said. "It's heartbreaking.""I'm at the bottom of the list for housing"Ritchie opened up about feeling as though he is 'not being taken seriously'."If you drive down Manor Road now, you would think it's private land owned by Universal Studios with the amount of traffic," he said. "I get looks from people driving down there, thinking 'who's that?' I feel like an alien, intruding or trespassing."Ritchie is now facing homelessness. He was served a Section 21 'no fault eviction' notice on 28 April only a few days before the Renters' Rights Act 2025 came into effect. The site will be transformed into a Universal theme park (SWNS)"I sought legal advice to Legal Aid and I was told to sit tight until a court possession order," he said."Last week, I went to Bedford Crown Court and the possession order was granted on the 19th of September."I've been advised to wait until a bailiff warrant is approved by the court and then I get two weeks' notice before they change the locks."And all this time, the council are telling me I'm at the bottom of the list for housing. It's not like I'm being paid to move by Universal."Ritchie shared his frustration at how he has been treated, saying: "From a legal point of view, Universal haven't done anything wrong because they'll make sure everything is done to the letter. An artist's rendering of the new Universal theme park (Universal)"But from a moral perspective, their belligerence is unreal. They think we don't matter."Demolition work has now started ahead of the construction on the 476-acre site, which could become home to some of the tallest rides in Europe. The park is set to be completed in 2031, and is touted as having several themed sections, including a hotel with 500 rooms, as well as retail and dining. It has also been praised by the government as it could bring around 20,000 jobs during construction and 8,000 new jobs once the park is open. The planning application claims it will generate £50 billion for the UK economy.Universal writes on their website about the project: "Collaboration and community engagement remain at the core of how we work around the world. We are committed to keeping local residents, businesses and stakeholders updated as works progress and will continue working closely with Bedford Borough Council and other partners throughout the delivery of the project."As part of the planning process, an Outline Construction Management Plan and detailed Environmental Impact Assessment were submitted and carefully assessed as part of the approval process. These documents set out measures for managing construction-related effects and helping to minimise impacts where possible. Detailed construction management plans will follow for each phase of construction activity, where appropriate."LADbible has contacted Universal for comment.Featured Image Credit: SWNSTopics: UK News, Universal Pictures, Theme Park

GoPro Dropped From Cruise Ship Captures Terrifying Nighttime Detail New

GoPro Dropped From Cruise Ship Captures Terrifying Nighttime Detail

Published 15:10 1 Oct 2026 GMT+1Odysseas Froilan dropped a GoPro into the ocean to capture footage of sea lifeThere’s a reason why viewers have been seriously freaked out by a man dropping his GoPro to the bottom of the ocean.Odysseas Froilan posted a creepy video on his YouTube channel in 2021, which starts with him chucking his GoPro off a cruise ship in the Bahamas as it tumbles into the depths of the sea. After settling onto the seabed, the GoPro then moves around to show what life is like for the creatures that inhabit the bottom of the ocean.Things get a lot more interesting when the clip cuts to the night time footage.AdvertNot only does the darkness add a certain eeriness, several sharks swim past the camera. Viewers, without realising it, were likely to be experiencing something known as thalassophobia.(YouTube/Odysseas Froilan)“The way I went from kicking my feet in the air at the cute fishies and thinking ‘maybe the ocean isn’t so scary after all’ in the day footage to blankly staring, terrified, at the night footage, further confirming my intense fear of the ocean,” one person commented.Another wrote: “Man, there's something primally terrifying about seeing a shark emerge from the darkness like that.”What is thalassophobia?(YouTube/Odysseas Froilan)“Individuals [with thalassophobia] will express worries such as what is beneath the water, darkness under the water, dangers in the water, and being lost,” Krystal Lewis, PhD, a psychologist in private practice in Bethesda, Maryland, told WebMD.It can occur from a traumatic experience, such as nearly drowning in the ocean, Albers adds.“This is an example of classical conditioning, where a specific experience teaches the brain to associate water with fear,” she explains.“This kind of learning is called observational learning, and it can shape our emotional responses even without direct experience.”Thalassophobia can also stem from a fear of the unknown or things you can’t control, adds David Kupfer, PhD, a psychologist in private practice in Falls Church, Virginia. For such, ‘the ocean might seem like it was potentially full of scary and unpredictable troubles’, Kupfer says.Explaining the rigmarole that's involved with dropping a GoPro off the side of a cruise ship, Froilan said: "I used a GoPro case to withstand the pressure and some simple stabilisers that I made in order to prevent the rolling of the camera. For the same reason, I was waiting for a day with no wind and current. The GoPro was attached to a fishing line so I was able to feel the bottom of the sea."But I could check the footage only once I was bringing the camera up again. Initially, I started filming to see what was happening down there, but the footage was so cool I had to share."Featured Image Credit: YouTube/Odysseas FroilanTopics: Cruise Ship, Travel, Health

David Beckham Sparks Reconciliation Hopes With One Quiet Instagram Move New

David Beckham Sparks Reconciliation Hopes With One Quiet Instagram Move

Has David Beckham extended an olive branch to Brooklyn? (Picture: Matt Crossick/PA Wire) Could the end of the Brooklyn Beckham family feud be in sight? That might be optimistic, but it appears at least one party was keen to extend an olive branch – albeit to no avail. Dad David Beckham was caught seemingly trying to reach out to his eldest son today, despite the budding chef’s January allegations that his parents have ‘controlled’ him from an early age and ‘tried endlessly to ruin [his] relationship’ with Nicola Peltz. Given his following of over 87 million, it’s no surprise Becks’ Instagram activity is watched closely by fans. And in his latest act of double-tapping, the football legend sent some love Brooklyn’s way, as he ‘liked’ a video of his son with wife Nicola at a fashion show. Posted by celebrity photographer Yehiel Chekroune, the video was taken at the Messika showcase at Paris Fashion Week, where the Peltz-Beckhams sat front row. David liked a video of Brooklyn and wife Nicola Peltz at Fashion Week The lovebirds attended the Messika show in Paris (Picture: Aurore Marechal/Getty Images) Capturing the hustle and bustle after the show, the clip showed Brooklyn standing beside Nicola as she praised the designers’ ‘amazing’ work. Calling the event ‘unbelievable’ and ‘beautiful’, she dished out hugs to the team and applauded. The lovebirds matched their outfits for the occasion, with Brooklyn wearing an all-black ensemble of a T-shirt and baggy trousers, while Nicola bared her midriff in a bra top and fitted pants. Former photographer Brooklyn and Lola actress Nicola couldn’t have looked happier, as they gladly hung around chatting, any thoughts of family drama firmly out of mind. But it looks like the clip tugged on David’s heartstrings, leading to him giving it a like. Noticing, @dodon.md wrote hopefully in the comments: ‘David liked this. He loves his kids. Everything’s going to be okay.’ David was a proud husband at Victoria’s Friday Spring/Summer 2027 show (Picture: Reuters) The designer was supported by her children and their girlfriends, with Romeo looking dapper in a suit (Picture: Reuters) Brooklyn and Nicola snubbed VB’s show but attended the Balenciaga fashion show yesterday (Picture: Swan Gallet/WWD via Getty Images) Despite often moving in the same showbiz circles, Brooklyn has managed to avoid any public run-ins with his mum and dad over the past year. And he wishes to keep it that way, as he snubbed mum Victoria Beckham’s fashion show this evening. The Spice Girl had David and her kids sitting proudly at the Conciergerie at 2 Boulevard du Palais, cheering her on as she debuted her latest collection. Cruz and Romeo were joined by their girlfriends, Jackie Apostel and Kim Turnbull, plus teen Harper, with the girls all dressed in VB’s label. Noticeably absent was Brooklyn, who has not attended any of his mum’s recent shows, nor has he gone to family events. Earlier this week, a source told Metro that he had no intention of showing his face: ‘Brooklyn has no plans to go to Victoria’s show on Friday or see his family while he’s in Paris. David is blocked by his eldest on Instagram (Picture: Instagram/Brooklyn Beckham) ‘He’ll be attending the Balenciaga show, alongside Nicola, on Thursday.’ Indeed, he attended the Balenciaga show with his other half, as well as the Messika catwalk, but the Victoria Beckham exhibition was not in his diary. Despite his efforts being ignored, this isn’t the first time David has attempted to virtually reach out to his estranged son. In March, both he and Victoria shared a happy birthday wish for his 27th, with David using his childhood nickname. POLL Poll Do you think Brooklyn will ever reconcile with his parents? I love you so much’, followed by a string of red hearts. Neither parent tagged Brooklyn in their posts, as it’s believed they have both been blocked by him. Younger brother Cruz confirmed the savage act last December amid reports that his parents had unfollowed Brooklyn, which he was keen to deny. The Beckham brood has continued putting on a united front since Brooklyn’s scathing takedown in January (Picture: Reuters) The only contact he has with his mum and dad now is via lawyers (Picture: Getty) ‘They woke up blocked … as did I,’ Cruz wrote in a post on his Story, alongside a screenshot of an article about the family feud. Blasting the rumours as ‘NOT TRUE’, he added: ‘My mum and dad would never unfollow their son… Let’s get the facts right.’ As things stand, Brooklyn has made it clear he has no desire to patch things up, penning in his original statement: ‘I do not want to reconcile with my family. I’m not being controlled, I’m standing up for myself for the first time in my life.’ Having savaged ‘Brand Beckham’, accusing his parents of prioritising public perception over authentic relationships, he has remained in the US and is close with his billionaire in-laws. Last August, he and Nicola even renewed their vows without Brooklyn’s relatives present. Instead, the ceremony was officiated by Nicola’s father, business tycoon Nelson Peltz, while David and Victoria found out about it online. The only communication Brooklyn now has with David and Victoria is through legal teams. Both have remained pretty tight-lipped on the feud front and continued putting on united displays with their other children and their partners since the start of the year, but Victoria did address the family row in April. She told the Wall Street Journal: ‘I think that we’ve always – we love our children so much. We’ve always tried to be the best parents that we can be. ‘And you know, we’ve been in the public eye for more than 30 years right now, and all we’ve ever tried to do is protect our children and love our children. And you know, that’s all I really want to say about it.’ Reps for Brooklyn, David, and Victoria Beckham have been contacted for comment.

Chip City Sparks Uproar After Abruptly Closing All Its Stores

Apparently, that’s how the cookie crumbles.Chip City, the viral New York bakery chain that ballooned from a Queens storefront into a multi-state cookie empire backed by millions from Danny Meyer’s investment firm, appears to have abruptly shuttered stores across New York City and other major markets — just days after its co-founder sued the company and its controlling investor.“Despite extensive efforts to stabilize our business in the face of significant macro-economic headwinds, we have made the very difficult decision to close all of our Chip City locations,” the company told The Post in a statement Friday.A closed Chip City store is seen at 370 Columbus Ave. in Manhattan, on Friday, Oct. 2, 2026. Tamara Beckwith“We are grateful to our dedicated employees and loyal customers who have supported us for the past 10 years.”Chip City had not publicly announced a systemwide shutdown as of Friday morning, but according to a former employee, an email purportedly sent to employees Thursday evening said Chip City would “cease all store operations,” permanently closing its 22 remaining stores at the end of the day.“Our industry and business have faced a challenging environment,” the email said, citing weaker consumer spending and changing preferences. “Unfortunately, we no longer have the funding required to operate this business.”“This was easily the most stressful and unprofessional company I’ve ever worked for,” the former employee wrote online and shared the company-wide email that was sent. The email told workers it would be their final day and said they would be paid through Oct. 18 under Fair Workweek policies. The sudden shutdown was already playing out across social media Thursday, where customers posted videos of darkened storefronts and traded information about which shops had closed.Hearing rumblings that every Chip City location has suddenly and permanently closed, including Astoria and Sunnyside. Pretty surprising.— Astoria Crave (@AstoriaCrave) October 2, 2026“All locations shut down with no notice,” one customer told neighbors on the Upper East Side, saying staff received an email that it would be their final day.Adding to the mystery, NYPD Evidence Collection Team officers were seen photographing the shuttered Upper West Side location Thursday, according to a local reporter who posted images from the scene. When approached, one man at the site reportedly told him, “please, please don’t talk to the media.”The Chip City location at 22-04 33rd St. in Astoria, Queens, sits closed on Friday, Oct. 2, 2026, in Astoria, New York. Kim Max for NY PostA closed Chip City store is seen at 370 Columbus Ave. in Manhattan, on Friday, Oct. 2, 2026. Robert Miller for NY PostThe reporter said NYPD officers referred him to the department’s public information office, which told him it had no information tied to the address as of Thursday morning. It was not immediately clear why the Evidence Collection Team was at the store or whether its presence was connected to the closure. The apparent New York closures follow a rapid string of shutdowns elsewhere.Chip City recently closed all three of its Connecticut locations while stores in Virginia have also shuttered. By late September, the company’s website listed just 24 locations in New York, New Jersey and Texas, a sharp contraction from its footprint at the height of its expansion.Something very odd is going on in connection with today's permanent closure of the UWS Chip City.Multiple NYPD Evidence Collection Team officers are on site and taking photos of the storefront.A man on a bike filling out some sort of document said, "please, please don't talk… https://t.co/MFqUNmubiP pic.twitter.com/mCcivSSCtu— Gus Saltonstall (@GusSaltonstall) October 2, 2026Chip City rode the same oversized-cookie wave that turned brands like Crumbl and Last Crumb into social-media sensations, helping push cookies into the kind of viral-dessert moment cupcakes once had with brands like Magnolia Bakery. The category exploded around rotating flavors, limited drops and massive, camera-ready cookies built for TikTok and InstagramFounded in Astoria in 2017, Chip City built a cult following around their nearly six-ounce cookies with crisp edges, molten centers and a rotating weekly menu. Its rapid growth attracted $17.5 million from Danny Meyer’s Enlightened Hospitality Investments in two rounds — $10 million in 2022, followed by another $7.5 million in 2024 to fuel further brick-and-mortar expansion.Chip City abruptly closed all of its stores across the US. Robert Miller for NY PostBut as stores began disappearing this fall, internal turmoil was baking.Just days before the latest closures, Chip City co-founder and former CEO Peter Phillips filed a lawsuit in New York Supreme Court against the company, Enlightened Hospitality Investments and executives Nicolas Baizan and Fred LeFranc, alleging a bitter dispute over his compensation, benefits, company web domains and hundreds of thousands of dollars in small-business loans.Phillips claims he stepped down as CEO in March as part of a restructuring that left Enlightened Hospitality Investments as Chip City’s controlling investor. He remained in an agreed paid transitional role through December, with $157,500 in salary and family health benefits promised under the deal.“Although our client has not been part of ownership for some time, he is shocked at what happened to a company that he and his friend had put together,” Phillips’ attorney, Israel Klein, Pardalis & Nohavicka, told The Post. A woman tries the door of the closed Chip City location at 42-15 Crescent St. in Long Island City, Queens, on Friday, Oct. 2, 2026. Kim Max for NY PostThe entrance to the closed Chip City flagship store is seen on Friday, Oct. 2, 2026, in Astoria, Queens. Kim Max for NY PostThe September 28 lawsuit alleges the relationship between the parties became tumultuous over the summer, when Phillip claims Chip City froze his pay while pressuring him to hand over company-related web domains and sign paperwork tied to more than $640,000 in SBA loans he says he still personally guaranteed. After he demanded payment, Phillips says the company terminated him and moved to cut off his health coverage. The lawsuit accuses Chip City and the other defendants of breach of contract, unlawful wage withholding, retaliation, and other violations. Phillips is seeking unpaid compensation, damages, and other relief. The defendants have not yet responded to the allegations in court, and the lawsuit does not establish that the dispute caused the recent store closures.Still, the timing adds another layer of uncertainty around a company that, until recently, was touting aggressive growth.Even as customers posted videos of closed locations, Chip City’s social media continued promoting its weekly lineup of cookies to more than 300,000 Instagram followers. It is unclear how operations will continue to persist at this time. With the closure come hundreds of employees now out of work.

Sabrina Bahsoon Reveals the Terrifying First Signs of ‘Brain on Fire’ New

Sabrina Bahsoon Reveals the Terrifying First Signs of ‘Brain on Fire’

Published 18:32 2 Oct 2026 GMT+1Sabrina Bahsoon spent months in hospital A woman who was diagnosed with encephalitis described how the first symptoms ended up with her getting sectioned while she didn't know what was happening to her.Sabrina Bahsoon is an influencer who on 19 March made a video of herself on the London Underground with friends, but her trouble started when she got home that day and 'just started hysterically crying', with Sabrina left 'screaming, shouting, acting very psychotic' and she didn't know at the time it was her first episode of psychosis. What she actually had was anti-NMDA receptor encephalitis, a rare condition where the immune system attacks chemical receptors in the brain, your body starts fighting your mind. It's depicted in the film Brain on Fire, and research into the condition has found that 'dramatic psychiatric symptoms' can show in as many as 60 percent of autoimmune encephalitis cases.AdvertThe morning afterwards, Sabrina was 'acting super strange', and having told her sisters she'd just broken up with her boyfriend they decided to get over to her as soon as possible.Sabrina was misdiagnosed at first and it wasn't until her parents pushed for more tests that doctors worked out the truth (sabrinabahsoon/ TikTok)"Thank god, because I don't know what I would do if I was alone," Sabrina said."When they came over I started going even crazier, I was posting TikTok videos, I don't know if anyone saw that, of me screaming, shouting at the camera, I started crying, trying to hurt myself and my sisters ended up calling the ambulance."She was taken to hospital and she stayed for two days there, describing how she screamed the entire time and didn't get any sleep. Her condition deteriorated, but she was discharged by the emergency room and Sabrina said she was starting to lose memories at this point, but knew she went back home. When she started having violent outbursts and trying to hit things her family called paramedics, and the paramedics called the police who put Sabrina in handcuffs to restrain her.Back at the hospital, she was sedated as she was 'violent with anyone who comes near me', and the decision was made to section her, with Sabrina transferred to a mental hospital and incorrectly diagnosed with psychosis.Kept in a mental hospital with the wrong diagnosis for two months, Sabrina was on anti-psychotic medication that she wasn't responding to because it wasn't appropriate for her encephalitis. She lost about 12kg and described being in a 'catatonic state', and eventually her dad pushed for her to get more tests done, which at last identified what was actually happening to her, with the mental hospital apologising. On 18 June she was at least able to go through with an operation to treat her, and though the operation risked the loss of her ovaries she fortunately didn't have that happen to her, finally getting discharged in July. Now she's figuring out getting back to her life and dealing with spending several months of it going through absolute hell."Sabrina has been through something most of us can't imagine, and the way she has fought her way back is remarkable," Thomas Drachkovitch of Dream Bay Group said."She's sharing her story so that others might recognise anti-NMDA receptor encephalitis sooner, and we're so grateful for all the support she's received."Featured Image Credit: sabrinabahsoon/ TikTokTopics: Health, Mental Health, Lifestyle
